Oh my goodness! If your at WSU you have got to stop in and sample some of their cheeses and then relax while eating some of their ice cream. I may stop in there before visiting my daughter! Or just go to visit Ferdinand's and not tell her.

Great ice cream and cheese, the flavor is incredible and the servers were very nice. The prices are very affordable, especially with how much you get. My advice, if you're looking for the most well known Huckleberry swirl, get in early as it runs out fast!

Tasty

Woah. Move over Molly Moon. Watch out Bi-Rite. Even Garden Creamery and Earnest Ice Cream need to keep an eye on this place. Incredibly creamy creations from the WSU student body at a fraction of the cost of normal artisan scoops.

One scoop sets you back $2.25 and a grabber (oatmeal cookie sandwich) is $3.50. These are the two items I bought: a one scoop split of apple crisp/vanilla cookie dough and a huckleberry grabber.

Don t come here for wild concoctions. Flavors taste traditional and fresh. This is creamy on a Garden Creamery (SF) level. Hands down the best ice cream in Washington.

Get their delicious end cuts and super creamy ice cream! End cuts are cheaper in store than any other place. Tin Lizzy is popular, cappuccino is delicious, my favorite would be the apple pie. (I have pictures but not on this device). Expect it to be really busy. Totally with the price.

Do not miss this place if you are visiting the Palouse! They make excellent cheese (my husband and I go through a cookie-tin size amount of Cougar Gold per week) and the ice cream is such a delight. How lucky are the people who live and work on campus at WSU to have this around?!

Be prepared to stand in line if you go there when there is an event on campus. Don't let that stop you. Just go and enjoy some is the best ice cream around. Also, pick up some Cougar cheese. The ice cream is smooth, refreshing and full of flavor. We go there ever time we are in town.

I kind of don't want more people to know about this place than already do because I am older now and if I have to fight Thunderdome style over a dwindling supply of Tin Lizzy that can't keep up with the demand there is a possibility that I might not win. I'm not cool with that.

The customer service and general demeanor of the student staff and Eric, the "supervisor", leaves a lot to be desired. I've experienced several negative interactions over the past year. Definitely not a "friendly" vibe. Very unprofessional and lacking in basic courtesy and people skills. Probably something they should be teaching and evangelizing given the fact that it supports food science students. When I walk-in, which is frequently, I often see staff clustered in groups of 5 or 6. It then takes them several minutes to reluctantly and lethargically walk over and assist you. But, the cheese, particularly the Cougar Gold is delicious, and I'm not even an aged cheese fan. I really like the curds as well.

This place is a must if you are in Pullman. I was spoiled during my years at WSU, having such easy access to arguably the best ice cream I've ever had (the pumpkin, peppermint, pb chocolate, and strawberry are my favorites). If I didn't live 5 hours away I'd be there right now, getting a scoop and a tin of crimson fire cheese.

With generous scoops of ice cream made in the building your standing in, it truly is one of the best ice cream shops in the world. Creamy and delicious with plenty to fill your craving. A necessary stop for anyone visiting WSU or anywhere else in the area.

Amazing! This ice cream was delicious. I highly recommend chocolate cookie dough, which is an uncommon flavor that's available here. Watch out for the limited hours though, which may be extended onto the weekends for Cougar football game days, so keep your eyes peeled for those extra hours.

Whoever the lady was outside directing traffic was incredibly rude and inappropriate behavior. We pulled in she was yelling at us to go park. We went down to turn around and leave. We were not going to spend money at a place where the customer service is bad. Parking is what we were doing. As we pulled back up to the front she flipped us off. How adult like and great customer service. Might add this was not a day to mess with me since my mother just passed away and my children wanted to get some ice cream. Thanks for the incredibly horrible service. I called to talk to the manager and apparently this amazing manager is the lady who had horrible customer service. I will be speaking to the person above her. Not to mention when she got the phone and I started making my complaint intead of talking to me in a calm voice she was yelling. Yep way to go manager .

The ice cream is on the verge of fantastic...

The major and total drawback of Ferdinands is there bloody hours are Completely and utterly Unacceptable for consumers... they're not open weekends, they close roughly around 1700hrs weekdays... yes they are open on select days for the Aware program and student orientations; speeking as a capitalist they'd make a butt load of money if they opened a shoppe inside the Cub, and were bloody open when students and parents were around, especially on weekends.

They should take note and even send some staff to bench mark "The daily Scoop" at the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union Madison... not only is it just Fn awesome ice cream. They actually are open when the student population is looking for something sweet. Hours are roughly 1030 to 2300hrs. Imagine that...

Once Ferdinands figures it out, I'd be happy to award them a 4.22222222.

Everyone who visits WSU or Pullman should go to Ferdinand's. The ice cream and cheeses are top notch and made on premises. It can have a line out the door when there are events, orientation, etc. at the college.

I ordered a mango milkshake. The mango in the milkshake is probably 2%. No flavor or taste of mango at all. This is more of a plain vanilla milkshake than a mango milkshake. Not worth the money. Disappointed!

Ice Cream was great! Could have been 5 stars. However the service at the pay counter was less pleasant to say the least. She was rude and inconsiderate. I understand bringing 22 young girls can be overwhelming, but there's no need to be rude.

It's a great spot for ice cream and the Cougar Gold cheese is delicious too. The only problem I have is the hours. It's really unfortunate that an ice cream shop is closed on Saturdays. Or before most people are off of work.

I cannot complain that the ice cream here is delicious, however, as an ice cream lover, it was very disappointing asking for two of my favorite flavors and told that they were only selling one flavor per cup, regardless of the size, because they said they had too many customers and needed to serve them fast.
I know things are being hard with all this pandemic going on, and businesses need to take measures, but I just don t think this is the right way a business needs to take measures. In this case, they should only sell one flavor.

Yum, even better than Molly Moon's ice cream. Can't get much closer to the source of ice cream than at Ferdinand's! A single scoop on a waffle cone is a lot of ice cream, double up if you can handle it. Or go with their cups of ice cream if you are the tidy type. Or have a sundae or milkshake!
Get some cheese to take home, like Cougar Gold, while you are there.
Don't worry about the line, you need the time to decide what flavor(s) you want.

A treasured place for all Cougars, Ferdinand's is an ice cream shop and a cheese factory where they make the legendary Cougar Gold cheese. They're normally only open on weekdays, but will occasionally open on weekends for special events such as home football games. Check the hours online.

If you go, make sure to buy the cheese AND the ice cream. You won't regret it.
