DO NOT PURCHSE WORLD NOMADS' INSURANCE IF TRAVELING WITH PETS AS THEY DO NOT COVER ANY CHARGES RELATING TO THEM!!!!
I am an animal rescuer and was flying with several rescue dogs. Unfortunately, Aeromexico gave me incorrect information which caused me to miss my connecting flight. As a result, Aeromexico paid for a hotel room, but I had to pay a mandatory, nonrefundable pet deposit for the dogs in order to rent the room.
I purchased World Nomads' more expensive Explorer Plan specifically in case of such an event. However, its claims department denied reimbursement of my pet deposit fee, stating that World Nomads does not cover any expenses associated with pets even if mandated to book the hotel room which is completely absurd.
I am saddened that World Nomads has turned out to be unreliable and unreputable, as well as unfriendly towards persons traveling with pets. The pet deposit fee was part and parcel of the room rental. It was not as if I was trying to recover room service or mini-bar fees.
I would also discourage all animal lovers from supporting such a heartless company - purchase from a pet-friendly travel insurance company instead.
Additionally, after posting my review on another website, World Nomads immediately replied the next day: Hi Denise, we're sorry to hear you weren't happy with your cover. I have passed on your comments to the relevant team, and someone will be in touch soon to discuss your feedback. Safe travels - Belle ✈️ World Nomads.
However, World Nomads never contacted me. This evidences that their review replies are just a sham effort to make people reading the reviews think that World Nomads actually cares and wants to resolve customer issues when they obviously don't. Their failure to follow up in a timely manner is yet another example of the terrible customer service you will receive from World Nomads.
In fact, it was not until three weeks later and AFTER I posted that they never contacted me as promised that someone from the complaints department finally sent me an email. But rather than attempting to resolve my complaint, the person simply reiterated that World Nomads does not cover ANY expenses associated with pets, end of story.
