Just loved Nepal and the Everest High Passes (aka Three Passes) Trek. It s a physically tough trip but well supported by awesome sherpas and guides, great camps and a visible contribution to local communities.

I have been travelling with World Expeditions since 1986, most recently a Hidden Valleys of Ladakh second time round. (I got sick on the trek in 2006 and didn't enjoy the wonderful locations enough, so did a repeat trek with no illness and the experience more than lived up to my expectations.

I joined World Expeditions for my first trekking holiday in Nepal and had such an amazing experience! Firstly, the sales staff had a good chat with me about my interests and recommended the Gokyo & Renjo La trip to get me off the well-trodden Everest Base Camp trail and it was the perfect trip for me. Once I hit the ground in Kathmandu, the operations of the trip, service, staff, food, ran like clockwork and I was super impressed. I would have no hesitations recommending travel with World Expeditions and especially to try a different trail to the very popular Base Camp trail.

Completing the Long Range Traverse with World Expeditions in Newfoundland, Canada, was a life-changing experience! Incredibly challenging and empowering, the otherworldly views we were treated with across Gros Morne National Park made every step worth it. Getting off the grid and being out in nature for four days straight was a real treat too. I couldn't have done it without the help of our World Expeditions guides, who not only navigated the way (no mean feat), but also provided moral support and encouragement, carried much of the gear, and cooked us delicious meals each night while we wild camped. I can't wait to plan my next World Expeditions trip!

Our trek was excellent in every way. Well organised, great food, enjoyable guide & such beautiful scenery. One of the best experiences of our lives. The trek was challenging in parts, easy in others. At the end of each day, we sat down at the dinner table exhausted and exhilarated. Fantastic.

Overall, this was a wonderful trip. Physically challenging - there are indeed many ups and downs in Nepal! - and soul enriching - spectacular mountain scenery, friendly villagers, and a gorgeous profusion of April rhododendrons. Our guides Harka and Sonia were great, as were all the hikers in our group, which ranged in age from 13 to 70+. We really had a lot of fun with them all. Our heart-warming welcome at a village school (where we made a donation of computer equipment) was a highpoint of the trip. If there was a lowpoint, I d say it was our time in the cities (Kathmandu and Pokhara), which were interesting culturally, but shockingly dirty and chaotic for this 1st Worlder. The contrast with the mountain beauty could not have been stronger. In general, the trip itinerary was A+, as was the logistical management of all the day to day details that such a trek entails. Kudos to World Ex.

In April of 2017 I did the Classic Larapinta Trek in Comfort, it was exactly as described and for me it was six days of fairly effortless trekking just slightly hot at that time of year. I didn t give up but my boots sure did, the trekking guides stepped in and affected a temporary repair to get me through the trek. Nothing more I can say about it, this was a very scenic trek with plenty of history and culture. Hot showers every night and a comfortable bed, the WWE guide were brilliant they took really good care from start to finish and their cooking was just superb.

Walking, climbing & scrambling over the Tilman Pas...

Walking, climbing & scrambling over the Tilman Pass in May 2018 was everything I could have imagined. The experience was exhilarating, challenging, difficult, fantastic & every other emotion one could hope to feel. The environment was exhilarating. Sleeping alone in your tent listening to the rumble of landslides gives plenty of opportunity everyday for reflection. Waking up in knee deep snow meant for a good days trekking. The World Ex crew were over & above anything I ever expected. They ensured utmost safety every minute of every day whilst walking, cooking, packing etc. They ensured we were roped on properly & ensured that we enjoyed ourselves. Although I have been to Nepal previously, this was for me the most incredible personal experience I have ever had. No surprises that I am now planning on doing the Snowman trek in Bhutan with World Ex.

The Annapurna Trek is the hallmark trek for alpine trekking almost anywhere in the world and is a must-do for anyone who loves alpine scenery. The trek would not disappoint anyone for scenic value and World Expeditions have complimented the walk with excellent local staffs and a good choice of accommodations and catering. I would not expect to walk in this part of the world in greater comfort and with less hardship. World Expeditions have finely polished this Jewel in the Crown of alpine treks that provides participants with life-long memories of magnificent mountain grandeur. I am glad I did it with World Expeditions, I had really excellent experiences, many thanks to World Expeditions team.

One of the best tours of China we have been involved with. Perfect theme. Well organised. Masterly to get Mr E. Capon to lead the group. Mr. Stoney Feng Xiao was an excellent guide. Totally approachable. Great group of fellow travellers. No wet blankets among them.

We have been on 5 World Expedition trips: twice to Mongolia - with celebrity leaders, Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda, The Best of the West in the U.S., and Family Trek in the Swiss Alps with Donkeys. Each trip was perfectly organised. We can't recommend WorldEx highly enough!

Our group of 8 "older" women were overjoyed with our achievement on completing every step of the Larapinta end-to-end. It was an unforgettably unique experience to be totally immersed day and night in that beautiful and often spectacular landscape. Our guides, Ryan and Ed were wonderfully encouraging and good company. Meals were deliciously creative as well as healthy and satisfying. An epic challenge!

I recently completed the Ultimate Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek and it exceeded my expectations! The guides and porters were absolutely incredible, full of knowledge, positivity and laughs. The Scenery was out of this world, I really enjoyed the change in landscape from day to day; some days we were walking through forests, others through villages and others amongst the clouds. We were also super lucky with the weather and my fellow travellers really made the trip exceptional. The food was always generous and delicious and all the accommodation was comfortable, especially the campsites. Thank you World Expeditions!

Our entire trekking group were all impressed with World Expeditions and especially our guide, Padam, on the Everest Base Camp trek. Padam had excellent skills and was always very professional as well as very patient. He went out of his way to ensure that each of us had an excellent holiday. Our group saw many other trekking groups over the 3 week period and we all felt very lucky that we had booked with World Expeditions. It was due to Padam s decision-making, organisational skills and knowledge of altitude sickness that we were successful in getting to and enjoying our goal destination of EBC.

Padam s gentle, friendly and lovely manner in dealing with people, his amazing local knowledge and experience as well as his fantastic sense of humour added to his charm! Padam was a special part of our holiday and is a credit to World Expeditions!

His assistants, Sirdah Birbal and Sherpa guide Mahabir, were also an important part of Padam s team that helped us all immensely along the way on a daily basis. The friendly and capable cooks and porters also did an excellent job and the food was always delicious and bags always delivered safely to the tent door.

It was a wonderful holiday and well organised by all those involved from the World Expeditions team! I've already booked my next trip!

We had a wonderful experience biking between Hanoi and Luang Prabang. The biking is hard at times but there is always a van behind you if it's too much. Biking through remote Laotian villages and the beautiful countryside was magical.

Sydney staff at World Expeditions were responsive to our every question and as this was our first trip to Nepal, our questions were many! We did the Ultimate Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek and saw wonderful forests of rhododendrons and vistas of mountains as promised! Kyle and Andrew in the Sydney office are to be particularly commended as they gave us the confidence we needed to go ahead and book this trek.

Have been on 3x different World Expedition trips ( 2x in Nepal and 1x in Peru) . Loved them all and couldn t fault them . Top quality guides and ground support , great food, great accommodation and gear supplied. Other family members have also been on other trips with World Expeditions and also had great experiences . Sales staff always helpful and responsive .

I found the staff at World Expeditions, Sydney helpful and knowledgeable, We booked a 21 day trek to Gokyo Lakes, Nepal in October 2017. We originally wanted to travel back via India but they advised us that the Taj Mahal was under renovations for up to 12 months so we decided to travel back via Hong Kong instead. Any questions that we had concerning the trek, they answered in a timely manner and to the best of their ability. Some information was only available once we arrived in Kathmandu. The World Expeditions staff in Kathmandu were amazing and so organised. This made our trip even more memorable.

I would like to give a big thank you to world expeditions for the opportunity to experience the 15 day Rivers tour in Peru. Our Guide Henry was exceptional with his knowledge of the Sites and Inca History making the tour a learning experience and built an appreciation of the rich Inca culture and People of Peru . His Passion for Peru was felt by all on tour.
His happy and approachable personality made everyone very comfortable
I am most happy to recommend him as a guide and Leader.

Thanks again for a life enhancing tour Rosa Maria Gattone (JULY2018)

Just completed the Everest High Passes trek. An extraordinary experience that was every bit as challenging as it is said to be with the rewards worth every bit of the effort. WE has this trek organised down pat. Booking was easy and uncomplicated. Pre-trip notes were comprehensive and enabled certainty in preparation.

Our trek leader Rinzin Sherpa has 27 years experience trekking the Himalaya and his experience and networking really worked in our favour especially with getting us on the first and only flight to Lukla for the day that our trek was to begin giving us a head start on the coming hoards. Rinzin's expertise included a particular focus on staying healthy to avoid gut issues and the more severe effects of acute mountain sickness. He and his trek guides Shankar, Bali and Nema did a great job and ensured that we were all very well supported and looked after.

Food was tasty, ample and sustaining. Sherpa stew is awesome. Plenty of carbs to burn off. Our trek cook amazed us from time to time with what he could create on the trail.

Our group was a terrific mix of fabulous people from New Zealand, Canada, UK and Australia. We all got along so well and supported each other along the way.

While many trekkers just go to Everest Base Camp the circuit of the High Passes trek got us away from the busy EBC route and gave us opportunities to get really immersed in the remoteness and spectacle that is the high Himalaya. For anyone considering this trek be sure you have achieved a high level of fitness to allow for quicker recovery at rest stops and longer phases of the trek.

Many thanks to WE for this outstanding and well supported journey to one of the world's most spectacular destinations.

The Kokoda experience is absolute amazing. The trip was easy to organise with World Expeditions. The medical forms ensures that all people on the trip were fit which means we kept as a group, this definitely helped on tough hills. It was an amazing experience that every Australian should consider.

We have travelled to Nepal many times over the past few years and always with World Expeditions. The staff we have had dealings with from the Sydney office have been amazing .... so last year when we decided to go to Bhutan we obviously trusted World Expeditions with our travel arrangements and our tour. We did the Bhutan Cultural Journey ... what an amazing country and everything went to plan. I wouldn t go to any other travel company to arrange my travels to either Nepal or Bhutan ... World Expeditions specialise in my kind of travel... adventurous, fun and challenging!

Thank you for offering the Bibbulmun Track Foundation Friends a wonderful opportunity to travel to Nepal, participate in the Shree Bachchhalamai Basic School rebuild project and enjoy a trekking adventure in the Annapurna Region lead by a World Expeditions leader and his team. To your leader and wonderful team I say thank you to each and every one of them as they each played a vital part in ensuring our group travelled safely, comfortably including the full meal service during each activity we undertook.
It was truly a wonderful experience for me and I hope others of our group.
Your camp caretakers were also excellent. Very warm and welcoming and each was very proud of their tidy and homely camps.
World Expeditions should be proud of the service you provide trekkers, and what you give back to your employees and sections of the Nepal community including the ten piece litter collection.
Keep up the good work and I only hope our small contribution to the Shree Bachchhalamai Basic School and community enables them to begin the recovery process that each of them must take to restore their lives following the 2015 earthquake.

I had a fantastic time on World Expeditions' Bhutan Dragon Kingdom tour.
Wonderful guides, beautiful trekking route, comfortable camping experience with great food and very friendly crew.

All admin arrangements went perfectly.

This was the 4th time I've trekked with World Ex in the Himalayas and I can't recommend World Expetions highly enough.

A life changing experience with World Expeditions ...

A life changing experience with World Expeditions Trek to Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Ri and Cho La Pass with superb leader Bersingh and fellow guides and porters which catered for everyone's needs . At age 66 it was demanding but received the utmost help and encouragement from Bersingh and staff . Besides being physically stronger I was also mentally stronger at the end and received so much more confidence in having done this spectacular trek . World Expeditions were fantastic in their organisation and care from start to finish .

Kilimanjaro and Lemosho July 2019.

Kilimanjaro and Lemosho July 2019.
Well organised....porters were efficient and friendly. Moiravo Coffee Lodge in Arusha was a great base although a bit out of town.... side roads were pretty rough however! The luggage storage at the Lodge was a bit chaotic.
Meals on the trek were varied and nourishing.
Guides were good but need to interact more with trekkers.
Safari driver knew his stuff but the Masai village was a bit 'artificial' and designed primarily for the tourists. Our guide could have been a bit more 'honest' about the Boma.
The meals at the tented safari camps were great and our packed lunch boxes were filling.
Transfers to and from airports were smooth and they used roadworthy vehicles.
Tipping of our guides and porters was a bit more expensive than I first thought but their wages are very low so that was okay I suppose.
Airfares to Kilimanjaro via Doha were expensive.....even when booked 6 months in advance.
The trek was not too difficult but the summit night was certainly challenging enough.
The hire gear(particularly the jacket) was probably a bit pricey too.
The variety of animals on our safari was amazing and it was a great way to finish our trip.
Overall, an enjoyable well organised adventure with a fun group of people.
Machu Picchu next year for another new experience.
Cheers.
Errol Armstrong.

The Annapurna trek was the fourth trek I have done with World Expeditions. The organisation by WE from booking until returning to Australia, the guides, film nights and the experiences of all 4 treks were all fabulous.

The Kumano Kodo walk through the cedar covered mountains on the Kii Peninsular is a stunner. Listed as one of two UNESCO World Heritage treks (the Camino de Santiago is the other one) it follows the trails made centuries ago by pilgrims as they paid their respects at the three Grand Shines of Kumano. The serenity of the mountains and the sheer beauty of the landscape makes this a truly spiritual experience. The shrines and temples are stunning and we paid for a private blessing at the Kumano Hongu Taisha (one of the three shrines) which was a beautiful way to end our first full day on the trail. Staying in the comfortable family owned guest houses and soaking in the natural hot springs onsens was the icing on the cake. All the arrangements for accommodation and luggage transfers went without a hitch. Another triumph for World Expeditions.

The Annapurna, Naar, Phu and Tilicho Lake is a fantastic trek that takes you some remote and unspoilt areas off the traditional Annapurna Circuit. Spectacular views within ancient Phu, and Tilicho Lake that are highlights of the trek. As with all treks managed by World Expeditions, this trek is professionally executed with great local staff who add to the experience. Don't hesitate, book this trek; you won't regret it!

Just back from a stunning, perfect trek with World Ex in Nepal the middle section of the Great Himalayan Trail (Tilman Pass & Langtang Valley). What I loved:
remote areas in true wilderness that I wouldn t have gotten to on my own
great guide and crew knowledgeable and just fun to be around
delicious and varied food (even for a vegetarian)
high quality gear like jackets and tents and sleeping bags so that we were as comfortable as we could be
the crew (guides, sherpas, cooks and porters) are given good gear, a decent wage, and all of their food as part of the expedition (you might say that s obvious, but there are plenty of other companies that do not provide one or more of these things)
We had some unexpected adventures because of unusually heavy snowfall but the crew navigated it with good sense as well as good humour overall, a fantastic trip, my first with World Ex but definitely not my last.

Atlas Mountain trek was amazing, fabulous food and stunning campsites. The trek guides and support crew were fantastic picking the perfect lunch spots, very supportive to a couple of trekkers who found it hard. recommend this trip for truly something different.

We've booked four trips through World Expeditions: a trek through Tibet to the Everest Kangshung Face base camp, the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory, the Inca trail to Machu Picchu and a boat trip around the Galapagos Islands. Booking these trips has been easy, with information provided promptly and questions answered quickly.

Had a wonderful time on our Kenya & Tanzania Wildlife Safari Private tour. We saw hundreds of animals and the scenery was outstanding. In Tanzania our guide Moody made the Safari even more remarkable. Would highly recommend World Expeditions, our travel expert Kyle Super in the Sydney office put together a wonderful trip for us in Africa which also included Namibia, Botswana and Victoria Falls, we had a fantastic time.

Thank you, World Expeditions, for a wonderful experience. The Ultimate Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek was amazing. Exploring the historical and hectic - wonder of Kathmandu gave great contrast to the peace and tranquillity of the trails that took us though villages and farmland. The snow-covered massifs, the rhododendron forests, the glacial landscape on the pilgrimage route to Khayer Lake, what can I say? The fascinating conversations with trek leader, Sanjay Lama, gentle humour of our sherpa, Sankar, the care taken by our sirdar, Limbeh, and his team to supply us with delicious and nourishing meals, and a fabulous, small trekking group the whole experience was a delight from start to finish. I just want to do it all again. And the World Expeditions office will be my first port of call. Thank you again.

Thanks Tim for sharing your passion for Mongolia. The interaction with the nomadic people was "right up there" as far as travel experiences rate - something we would not have achieved without you. The Mongolian support team were amazing - super friendly and professional - nothing was too much trouble! Loved the Eagle Festival - fabulous to have been there before it becomes too commercialised. We hired horses as a back up but ended up riding them at every opportunity. The horses were very calm and no trouble even for this novice rider! Such a beautiful way to experience the unique landscapes - we would recommend this option as you can still walk whenever you like. We brought home treasured memories rather than souvenirs (except of course, the camel socks) - the way travel should be!

World Expeditions connected me with a fantastic local guide and a great itinerary for the Sacred Valley and Inca Trail. In a short 6 days, I was able to see everything I wanted to see. They were organized in their logistics, and the group size was small so that it felt very personalized. I would recommend them.

Trekking in Nepal with World Expeditions far exceeded my expectations. The trek itself was well-thought out and took us through a beautiful region of the Annapurnas. The staff were helpful in preparing us before we left. And the crew on the ground were amazing! We were so well looked after by the guides and the cooks.
