I received more false hope than help needed. I met advocate Nora in the ER. Her support was everything I needed at that critical time. She made me feel as though I already knew her on a friendly basis. This is a two-star review instead of a one-star review because of Nora. While in the ER, and in Nora s presence, I booked a hotel room. Today Kristi was my advocate. During one of our conversations, I corrected her when she said Women Helping Women secured a hotel room for me. As she spoke on the phone with a person at the YWCA regarding my being housed, she said, ...we have her in a hotel. Again I stated that I paid for my hotel room. Kristi denied knowing such. I just told you that as we sat on the bench back there, I said. Kristi again denied knowing that I, not WHW, was paying for my 2-day stay at a hotel. Her dishonesty is a reflection on WHW. She asked, Do you want me to (?continue calling shelters?), she asked. I did not.
In addition, Kristi talked about my going to stay with my niece in New Mexico as an option. Really? If that had been an option, I would have known it. Shame on WHW. I am a woman who needed help. I will not have an advocate in the future. I reached out to dishonesty, false hopes, and disappointment.

They really work with women and make you feel safe. They are very resourceful and they accompany you to court if you want them to. They help you in obtaining CPOs and they help with relocation if wanted. I absolutely love Women Helping Women.

About Women Helping Women

Women Helping Women: Empowering Survivors and Preventing Gender-Based Violence

Women Helping Women is a non-profit organization that has been serving the communities of Hamilton, Butler, Brown, and Adams Counties in Southwestern Ohio for over 40 years. The organization's mission is to prevent gender-based violence and empower all survivors by providing support services, education, and advocacy.

The team at Women Helping Women believes that everyone deserves to live free from violence and abuse. They work tirelessly to provide a safe space for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence. Their services are available to people of all genders regardless of their age or background.

One of the key services provided by Women Helping Women is their 24-hour hotline. This hotline provides immediate crisis intervention for survivors who need help right away. Trained advocates are available around the clock to listen to survivors' stories without judgment and provide them with information about their options.

In addition to the hotline service, Women Helping Women offers a range of other support services including individual counseling sessions with licensed therapists who specialize in trauma-informed care. These sessions are designed to help survivors heal from the emotional wounds caused by gender-based violence.

Another important service provided by this organization is legal advocacy. Survivors often face legal challenges when trying to leave an abusive relationship or seek justice against their abuser. The legal advocates at Women Helping Women can assist with obtaining restraining orders or filing criminal charges against perpetrators.

Education is also a key component of this organization's work in preventing gender-based violence. They offer training programs for professionals such as law enforcement officers, healthcare providers, educators as well as community members on how they can recognize signs of abuse and respond appropriately.

Women Helping women also provides outreach programs aimed at raising awareness about domestic violence prevention among youth populations through school presentations on healthy relationships & dating safety tips; community events like walks/runs; social media campaigns etc., which helps them reach out more people than ever before!

Overall it's clear that "Women helping women" plays an essential role in empowering survivors while working towards ending gender-based violence across Southwestern Ohio communities they serve!
