We were by the well on waterville rd and hyw 18, wonderful water! But we were sad to see all the nests of nasty bugs / caterpillars , just destroying the area and what's worse is a DNR field station right there?!? why isn't a tree truck cutting them out and burning them?? This is how they multiply! Sad

I ve spoke with very kind people at the DNR, but the suggestion of leaving a wounded raccoon to slowly suffer and die , is disgusting. Then hang up.

Thankfully there are kinder people in this world. That gave me a more humane option.

I don t know how someone could just give that as a best option?

There was no writing utensil for filling out the self registration admission and nobody in the office so I took a slip to go a planned to mail it once I got home. I got a violation notice and when I called to ask about getting a manual pass they were not helpful and very rude. Very nice state parks but terrible service

They just got rid of Tom Hauge, who served as the DNR's director of wildlife for the last 25 years--another in a series of purges that are aimed at getting rid of anyone who actually cares about the environment and wildlife, in favor of people who are willing to sell Wisconsin off to the highest bidder (or any big Walker contributor). Cathy Stepp has absolutely no qualifications to run the department. I tried to leave this comment with zero stars--the number it deserves--but you have to at least give it one star, in order to get posted
