I recently found a rabbit with a horribly severe broken leg and captured it, later telling my dad when we got home and he looked on the Internet to see if there was a place like this near us. Surely, there was. We walked in and immediately I was confident that the place could provide proper care for not only my rabbit I saved but also all other injured wildlife brought there. The staff were very polite and paperwork was quick and easy. 5 stars definetely! If the age requirement to volunteer was lower, I would be spending most of free time volunteering here.

This is such a wonderful organization. Over the years, we have brought many baby animals to them for help and rehabilitation. It warms my heart when people go out of their way to help defenseless little creatures.

I brought in a baby squirrel today, the first time I have helped wildlife in this way. My kids found a little guy two days ago gnawing on a tree. We left it alone because I'm aware that the DNR recommends it, advising that most baby squirrels are not abandoned / orphaned. However, when I spoke with my neighbors I learned that the babies had been crying at night and one had followed them around the yard, both signs they had lost their mother. By that point none were to be seen. But last night I saw one laying in the driveway, crying. I gave it a warm water bottle and waited to see if momma showed. When she didn't and it was getting dark, I brought him in for the night and read an awful lot of info about squirrel care. I'm glad I did, and after dropping him off today at the center I am sure he is in good hands. I miss him, and his trusting little eyes, but he needs professional care. These little creatures are so fragile. I'm glad someone is looking out for them.

In the morning I found 3 dead young rabbits in the yard. When I went out, there was another one hiding in the grass, and clearly injured. My son and I took it to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. The receptionist was friendly, and when I said that we had an injured rabbit, she jumped to her feet to have a look, and then immediately went to prepare a space in the back room for the rabbit, while I filled out the paperwork. She was caring, concerned, and helpful. I had never been to this place before, but I was impressed by the work they do and the compassion they showed.

This is my second summer volunteering for WRC. I returned this year because I fell in love with the people and the birds (I work in the avian nursery). I love, love, love it here. WRC is one of my favorite places in the world. The staff, interns, and volunteers are incredibly compassionate, kind, and helpful, especially to the animals. Despite the busy environment, a lot of peace is found in this beautiful place. Each moment within its walls is a gift. I'm hooked for life.

Every injured animal I've found, I've brought too them. They don't pressure you to make a donation.
But b/c of the love, care, & medical attention they give these wounded animals, I can't help but give what I can. Every time I've had too bring someone into then, I wind up donating something. I'm not wealthy, so I'm not able to contribute what they deserve. But I do the best I can.
A+++++ For these guys

I've heard so many good things about this place. And to the people saying "oh they're horrible because the baby birds I've gave them don't do well or they euthenized them so I'll just raise myself" 1) be grateful they took them and tried many places won't even take baby birds they're so needy and hard. They don't have super good rate when they fall from nests because they often get injured. 2) if they feel the animal is unable to survive in the wild there is nothing more they can do they couldn't possibly keep every unreleasable animal and other places will not always take them 3) they legally can't give you the animal to keep and don't raise them yourself you have to be lisenced to take in injured wildlife depending you have to do years of training and take a test to be certified to handle injured and orphaned wildlife you'll likely not do it properly and make them unreleasable

I called and left as message as instructed, I had an orphan bunny who s siblings were sadly victims of a mowing accident. I was called back and told to bring my bunny (Since named Thumper) in as he would not survive the night or storms at his state. I drive 40 minutes for some not friendly or animal
Caring front desk older woman tell me that bunnies are the popcorn food to animals . Then have a vet examine my Thumper and tell me they ve taken too many bunnies he might survive best in his nest. When I explained that i have 2 dogs in the backyard and was
Worried about their nest I
Was told to mAke it work , put a basket over them , tonight my Thumper was sadly picked up and killed like a toy from one of my dogs, after all I tried to protect him and all the Wildlife Center failed to do. NO animal should he turned away or referred to as popcorn . You have lost my forthcoming donations and my persuasive word of mouth. Shame one you for letting me take this orphan home to die.

Cannot say this enough. The center is brilliant and volunteering here is truly once in a lifetime experience. People here truly care about the animals and enjoy what they do. Highly recommend. I'm surprised there are not enough reviews.

A student of mine found a two week old bunny and when I got to it, it appeared to be quite injured. They took it in with no charge. I'm so grateful I didn't have to leave it alone outside and worry about it <3

The people are truly heroes for the animals! We have brought injured birds and they were helped then released back in our area! We love donating black walnuts, acorns and oak leaves from our yard.

Recently I took a house sparrow to them. It's wing was injured and nothing else. The woman at the center told me ii would take (3) days for the wing to heal they would tape it then release it in the area I live at. To make a long story short, over a week passed, i was told they would call me give me an update on the sparrows progress. This only happened when I felt like I made a mistake in giving them a donation ( telling them this on the voice machine) because they were being very unprofessional. I get a call from them telling me they had to put the sparrow down because it had a broken wing and a broken leg (????) The sparrows legs were not broken, infact the sparrow was running around my house when we put it on the floor. In other words they lied to us. The sparrow was healthy other than the hurt wing. Their words aren't good!

Is it possible to give less than one star? Had a baby robin that was picked on by kids in the area. Not even pin feathered yet. Raised it to where it would fly around. Taught it to eat the same as wild birds. It had lost a leg from when the kids picked on it and was always a hopper. Decided that it was getting close to release time and wanted it done by "Professionals". Dropped him off with assurances and good words. Called a week later and they informed us they had destroyed the bird. It would have never made it with one leg. JERKS OK if it wouldn't have made it, it still could have lived in any number of environments. They could have released it back to us or never took it in the first place. If you want your animal destroyed by bird hacks.... leave them here otherwise pick another place.

Brought in an injured bunny. Woman at front desk was very compassionate and had vet looked at it right away and they were very hopeful it could be helped, also thanked me for bringing it in. So fortunate to have a place like this!

Please don't take every abandoned & injured bunny ...

Please don't take every abandoned & injured bunny and birdie to be rehabilitated. Think about this. Sadly but truthfully, these animals are at the bottom of the food chain. They serve as food and keep less numerous, upper order animals alive.
When you read that and EXPERT refers to bunnies as the popcorn of the animal kingdom, it should give you pause. Save WRC's precious resources.
Dropping off bunnies, birdies & squirrels takes resources away from less common animals that need more care.
Spay and neuter and LEASE your pets!
And if you drop off an animal, DONATE!
Thank you for everything you do at the Center to keep our Wildlife alive!

I've taken in a number of healthy young birds here over the years who have either fallen out of their nest or gotten lost or ??? The vet there always...except in one case...claims the bird is healthy, yet only one has ever survived. The one who was sick and had a lung infection. Seriously makes me wonder, as I have nursed many baby birds back to health and released them myself...why such a low survival rate? Maybe they do better with other animals. Never again.

A remarkable hospital for injured or sick wildlife, from mice to muskrats, pigeons, crows, fox, swans, mallards, coyotes, bunnies, ducks - and every other species in between.

If you ever find an injured or sick wild animal, this is the place you want to bring it.

Also, you ever end up with too many potatoes, zucchini, ... you can donate fresh fruits and veggies here and it will be used to feed the animals in the hospital. Ditto with acorn & peanuts.

And it is run 100% on donations.

I am astonished by this amazing wildlife hospital and rehab center.

I brought an injured baby bunny in today. I am not sure if the bunny will make it, but the thought of just leaving the bunny in my yard was driving me crazy. So nice to know there is a place that cares about these animals and tries to help.

Great place. A quick search lead me here when my dog disturbed a nest of rabbits in our yard. The staff was polite and got to me quickly. I asked if they even treated rabbits or if they were to low on the food chain. The staff told me "you took the time to try and save this animal, we are going to try our best to help it."
