The location was wonderful, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and hospitable. The facilities were well kept and clean, however on the campgrounds, the smell of the outhouses was quite strong. Personally, I used the washroom in the main building. The white water rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, volleyball, hot tubs, a pool, the food, bonfires, the nightly bar, incredible staff and friendly vacationers made for an unforgettable stay.

Wilderness Tours gets top marks for providing outstanding customer experience. If we could give you more than 5 stars, we would! Yesterday (Sunday August 30), staff from Hunt Club Volkswagen put themselves in the hands of the fantastic Raft Guides as we spent the day maneuvering the Ottawa River rapids. We were a group of 50; some adults, some kids and many who had never white water rafted before. Today, the dealership is abuzz with tales of crossing eddies, tipping, body surfing and jumping off cliffs.
The staff at Wilderness Tours know all about providing an environment that is fun and safe. The emphasis placed on safety was evident throughout the day - by the mandatory use of helmets & life jackets, by the informative briefings and by the superior knowledge of the river by the Raft Guides. There was also great emphasis on fun. And . did we have fun so many laughs. This is very obvious as we watch the faces of the participants on the amazing photos and videos taken by Wilderness Tours.
We d like to do a special shout-out to the 7 guides who made our day extra fantastic: Thank you to Adam D, Greg, Kyler, Thomas, Tommy, Denis & Jordy. We enjoyed the history stories of Ottawa River. We enjoyed your great sense of humour and your love of life. It was a very memorable day.
Some of our staff are going back for more!

I ve been rafting with Wilderness twice now. It s an enjoyable experience but I would suggest avoiding Saturdays if possible. The busses were overly packed so several people had to stand for the duration of the trip and there is lots of waiting at rapids for all rafts to pass the rapids. Last year we went on a Sunday and the experience was far more enjoyable as there were less people. Would definitely raft with Wilderness again but will be more strategic on which day we go.

If you plan of rafting the Ottawa River, weather it be as a family, on a date, as an advantage, to graduate your skills to an intermediate skill. THIS is the place. The staff is lovely, and kind, cheerful, respectful and above all has you and your experience at heart (and ofcourse your safety).
I missed the chance to do the Bungee-Jumping, but check out their schedule, and check out their website for the remainder of their great activities like bike rentals and kayak school.

REMEMBER: Military members get a DISCOUNT on FRIDAY'S, please confirm this before you go, I don't want to mislead anyone incase their policies change between posting this and you reading it.

We had an amazing day trip rafting, they made it so much fun for our whole family of 5 adults, a teenager and 8 and 12 year olds. The tour guides were EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the river, and it's history. They told amazing stories, they told funny stories, and gave us an incredible adventure we were so impressed. I've lived in Ottawa my whole life and have never been on the river from a boat before (it's dangerous if you don't know what you're doing), it was really neat. We went swimming, cliff diving and there is a 'lazy river' too.

The Rapids are fantastic but several hiccups to work through. The first challenge is their name. River Run was acquired by Wilderness Tours and they're still working through the merger. Next challenge: doing the online waiver. You must have a unique email address for every adult (not well explained). No paper version accepted. Signage to parking is non existent. Wear a non-cotton top. Half wetsuit (upper) can be rented for $15 but you need to find the cafe (not dining hall) to pay. Cards only. No lockers at the assembly point so lock everything in your car. Sunblock and sunglasses with head strap strongly recommended. The river experience itself is fantastic. We did the 2-person sport yak and yes we tipped once but still had a blast. Guides led by Katie were great although it was hard to hear their instructions sometimes. Snack served midway. Lunch is burger, hot dog or sausage. I didn't see a veggie/vegan option. Wasps outside were a real nuisance so we moved under the dining cover. Someday this will be a 5-star attraction but not yet.

We had a wonderful four hours on the adventures half day trip. I ve rafted for 20 years and this was my first time on a small 6 person raft. It was overcast and I m grateful we rented wetsuits ($20) because I would have been too cold with them. The guides were the usual mix of young, hip, fun hippies who love nature and we re a wealth of knowledge about the area. We saw osprey, herrons and an eagle. The buffet lunch was excellent! After we rafted we were able to relax in the very hot tub and then use the showers. There was nothing I d improve upon, it was all very well done and a great way to spend a day.
