We've travelled twice with Wilderness Scotland, the first to Orkney and the second to The Isle of Skye. For both trips the guides were excellent, informative and entertaining. There was a very good 'vibe' in the group for both trips, particularly Orkney. Skye was great holiday, but the second hotel on the trip treated us less well, though it was supposed to be a five star place it's not somewhere that I'd want to go back to. Skye is also very busy with tourists these days, so not quite the Wilderness that it was. There is a problem with a group in that the pace is dictated by the weakest walker. This was not a noticeable problem on the Orkney trip, but was on the Orkney trip. I'm not sure quite how the company can eliminate this problem, I'm sure they will have thoughts about it.

I joined a one-week sailing holiday on board the historic boat Eda Frandsen, and am still talking about it many months later! The organisation was impeccable and the trip itself quite unique for the combination of wild Hebridean places visited (including the Shiant Isles) and the fun of working a traditional boat, 80 years old but maintained immaculately by her skipper. Great food too, and the comradeship of the crew none of whom I had met beforehand. A fantastic experience.

I have been on four Wilderness Scotland trips: Skye, Lewis and Harris/The Outer Hebrides including Mingulay/Argyll and the Isles/(all 3 walking trips) and the adventure trip, Outer Hebrides and St. Kilda. They have all been fantastic trips: Outstanding guides, Beautiful locations, great food and cosy hotels, I cannot give enough praise. Walking pace is good, size of group excellent, informative guides really go out of their way to care for guests and provide us with an A-1 trip. (In fact in 2018 I am taking another Wilderness Scotland trip . . . #5)

Beautiful hikes and absolutely fantastic food made my trip to the Knoydart peninsula with Wilderness Scotland a great experience despite the often poor weather (do expect plenty of rain in the Scottish Highlands!). Our guide Gordon helped us get the most out of the best weather by updating the hike program day by day depending on the forecast. Highly recommended unless you are sensitive to some rain on your hikes!

I holidayed in Knoydart, a wonderful, wild area to visit. Bunk house style accommodation though, so I felt the holiday was extremely expensive. Food was great and we had some lovely trips by boat to Eigg and Rhum. However, we did the toughest walk of the week on the first day (and it was really tough); one girl ended up in tears and others suffered with blisters later in the week. In my view the walking programme was not well thought through. Our guide also started the week by asking what walks we would like to do! Inevitably this means some folk are disappointed.

The Introduction to sea kayaking trip was everything I had hoped it would be! Excellent weather & views, great company and outstanding guides who made me feel safe at all times whilst constantly encouraging us to try new skills. Sound knowledge of local wildlife & fauna, local & national history made the trip even more enjoyable!

We were a group of eight friends. The staff at Wilderness Scotland worked with each of us to accomplish our travel goals. We had a fun and knowledgeable guide. We stayed in lovely accommodations, and truly enjoyed every moment of our active trip in this amazing country. We will use Wolderness Scotland when we return to .

Generally good but I ve had better. The guide gave off a strong last trip of the season vibe. Pick up and drop off by the guide were perfunctory and verging on brusque. Gorgeous location, good food and accomodation and we enjoyed our fellow hikers. Overall probably a 3.5

My late wife and I took the Skye wilderness walking tour in May 2017 having loved the Cairngorms walk in 2016. Our guide, Kirsty Cuchla, was excellent - a real professional with comprehensive local knowledge and great spirit. She assessed our group very quickly and adjusted the hikes to fit our collective fitness levels. The group was a lot of fun with representatives from England, the U.S. and Canada and the accommodations and meals very satisfactory. We enjoyed the trip so much that on returning home we immediately signed up for the Autumn Highlands walk this October. Gordon MacRae

Our guide Ken was phenomenal -- adjusted our hikes to fit the group's interests (which ranged from the archaeological sites of Orkney to wildlife to rare Scottish flowers), and was knowledgeable about all of them. We felt very safe hiking with him guiding (even with cliffs on one edge!) and enjoyed every walk, rain or shine. He was also prepared with extra hiking poles, water bottles, and snacks for people who needed them. The entire experience was great.

The accommodations on Orkney were wonderful as well, with a lovely and helpful hotel staff and a manager who went out of his way to make our stay exceptional. (For example: my baggage was delayed and sent up to the airport in Orkney, and the manager went to the airport to pick it up for me -- before the airline alerted me that it had arrived. I came back from a day of hiking and didn't have to worry about calling the airline or arranging transportation to go get it, because it was waiting at the desk for me.)

Wonderful! As a female, solo traveller, I have participated in five walking trips with Wilderness Scotland and I'm booked for my sixth! I have travelled with other guided companies and none has matched the calibre of Wilderness Scotland. The guides are top notch as they really know their craft, and are able to share their knowledge of the flora, fauna, local culture and history in entertaining ways. It's their dynamic leadership skills that truly impress me, as the guide always seems to bring together 8 individuals and create a cohesive group that enhances the week's experience. Plus, the guides have all been fun people to spend time with! As a whole, Wilderness Scotland has been very easy and approachable to deal with and they truly care about their clients' experience. The trips have all flowed seamlessly, with logistics of catching ferries, the changeable weather and the participants' ability levels all taken into account by the guides who appear to effortlessly deliver a most enjoyable holiday. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Outstanding! We spent a week hiking the Isle of Skye. Breathtaking scenery, amazing variety, and fascinating history. Lovely accommodations. Excellent food. And a truly remarkable guide, Gordon; he was highly skilled, genuinely interested in every member of the group, and excellent company. I can't wait to hike again with Wilderness Scotland!

We have gone on 3 Wilderness Scotland trips, one each in the last 3 years and have had outstanding experiences. The locations, guides, itineraries, accommodations, food, fellow adventurers, and booking experiences have all been fantastic. We hope to have another Wilderness Scotland experience in the very near future. Highly recommend!
