The food and service was very good. A little pricey. An appetizer 2 entrees and 2 desserts with tip 100.00. (Just water to drink) Easy to find with lots of parking. You have to call 2 weeks ahead depending on when you want to go. Portions for the price were generous compared to downtown Charleston. The "death by chocolate cake " was really good.

The risotto balls - to DIE for!! I got the scallops which only came with three but they were all great. Bread was minimal (but I complain because it was such GOOD bread). Homey Italian environment and an extensive dinner selection!

Visiting from out of town. Every bite of every dish I tried around the table was exquisite. The flavors astounding. The staff were super friendly, attentive and accommodating. Prices were more than fair for the portions.

I'm not one to make reservations however I would make them again in a heartbeat at this place. The service was on pont. The waitress knew the specials to a tee. I had the trigger fish. Delicious. The appetizers were perfect. If you get the chance to go to this place that you will pass while driving by if you blink, GO!

Not only is the food amazing, but the service is excellent as well! It reminds me of the food I've had in Italy many times before (I lived there for 5 years). If you want the best and most authentic italian food in Charleston, come to Wild Olive.

The food was good, just an "Ok" good but the pricing seemed reasonable. The itself building seemed a little too small which makes you feel cramped and I'm not sure if they were having a/c issues but it was an extremely warm, not hot, but extremely warm environment.

Wild Olive is, so far, my favorite dining experience in all of the Lowcountry. Yes, that includes all of the restaurants in Charleston. Every dish I have had has been spot on. I almost always go for the bolognese, which is as good as I have ever experienced. If you are looking for an excellent pasta dish, this is the place. The only thing keeping me from giving a 5-star rating is the speed of the kitchen. The food comes out consistently slowly, relative to other dining experiences. They need to up their game there.

Fantastic atmosphere, authentic cuisine, great menu selections, and wonderful service. Update August 2017: Return visit on vacation. Had the veal scalappene with mushroom marsala and it was fantastic. Also tried their meatball just to verify authenticity. Meat was tender with a nice blend of tomato sauce, cheese, and just a little spicy as hoped. Service was very good. A restaurant that will continue to be on my family's vacation rotation.

Visited Wild Olive with a couple of friends for our monthly dinner this week, and I must say, very impressive! The decor was very inviting and the hostess was pleasureable. Our waiter (I hate that I forgot his name) was very well-versed in both the specials and menu options, and came with great suggestions. For an appetizer, we had the calamari, and it didn't disappoint - good to the very last bite! For my entree', I ordered the chicken parm, and my friends had lamb lasagna and the swordfish. Everyone enjoyed their meals! I highly recommend Wild Olive if you are looking for truely authentic italian cuisine. I will put this on my list of favs to dine around the Charleston area!

We had reservations. Showed up exactly on time, but were not wearing masks and were refused food and service and kicked out by a waiter. Please don't give this company your business. No manager even came to talk with us.

The most intimate and decadent Italian resteaunt I've ever been too. Also the most knowledgeable waitresses I've ever had. 20$ for chicken parmigiana and pasta has never felt so under priced. As crazy as that sounds just trust me and give it a shot. You wont regret it

This last trip was our third time to Wild Olive. The first time, the wife and I shared a bottle of wine, app., two entrees, and dessert. Everything was spot on, we thought that we had found a great go-to restaurant. The second time went, the service was so good that we were talking about it to friends for days. The triggerfish special was good, not great and a little dry (overcooked) especially for the price of $27. Last night was completely embarrassing for us. We have never, I repeat, Never sent back both dishes to any restaurant. The beef short ribs were dried out (overcooked) and the Bolognese was described as dog food. This was totally not expected, we were actually explaining to customers around us that this never happens. I felt like low crawling out of the place when the chef actually came out and stared us down. WOW, not the way to handle that situation. They sent us out the pork chop, which is no longer worth having since it is now pounded flat and overcooked and over seasoned. I still can't figure out why they changed the best thing on the menu. Thank goodness I have replicated the brussel sprouts at home for the Miss'. I think that this restaurant defiantly deserves a second chance since we know the owner but the chef decided to show his ego, I don't know when that would be. The managers and staff have always tried to make the customers feel comfortable & No. 1

One of my favorite spots to dine in the Charleston area. The service, setting and food are absolutely fantastic! Make a reservation and be sure to come hungry as there are so many things you'll want to try. The staff is exceptional and they'll take care of you if you're torn on what to order.

We experienced superb service even with the restraunt packed with a line out the door. We arrived just after 9pm and the restaurant was hoppin, so that's always a good inclination of what the food is going to be like. My boyfriend ordered the lasagna which was amazing because he devoured it in about 7 minutes . I am gluten free due to allergies, and our waitress, Brooke, was extremely careful in explaining my options and making sure my order was safe to eat. Eating out with allergies can be very scary but she provided us with great service. She even gave me a little sample of the house made sorbet since I couldn't order any of the desserts on the menu! Cozy atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food. We will definitely be back.

We've somehow ended up with the same server each time. He was very friendly and gave great recommendations.

The Wild Olive is hands down the best restaurant I have eaten at while visiting Sea Brook. We started with the Calamari and it was fantastic. I ordered the Ribeye and Truffled potatoes and all I can say is it's simply incredible. The environment is very pleasing and the staff was very friendly. The Fat Hen was my favorite place until eating here. Sorry Fat Hen your now #2.

Atsy menu with very interesting ingredients....many that were locally sourced. Our server, Mike, was excellent in describing specials and bringing our orders quickly including a non-menu item we requested for one diner in our group. In sum, a very tasty meal with great service.

I cannot get enough of these restaurants that are set in a home. This place is slightly hidden off Maybank in John's island. There was an ample amount of parking in the back for this restaurant and the brewery next door. The wait staff were extraordinarily polite. We were seated quickly and made to feel comfortable. The special that night was the fish dish in the review and it was great. The baked ziti was outstanding. I will be making a trip back to John's island soon the have Wild Olive again thats a no brainier.

Wild Olive on Johns Island is one of my favorite restaurants in the Charleston area as they blend the magical elements of Italian food and fresh Lowcountry ingredients perfectly to make a really great meal. Everything on the menu is very delicious and flavorful and something special and unique that is memorable and fulfilling.

Wild Olive creates a relaxed ambience and atmosphere that really lets you enjoy the meal with the people, the lighting, and the decor. Once you step in here your stress level will drop and you know you will have a great meal and a good dining experience.

The staff here is very attentive and goes out of their way to make sure that you have everything that you need before you need it. I am always impressed with the level of service that they are able to provide.

This is likely the best restaurant in Charleston. That is not a designation I throw around lightly. I was a professional chef for 15 years and I can assure you that you won't find a better experience anywhere else. The service is on point, the food has ALWAYS been extremely consistent and always delicious.

We are from Pennsylvania visiting our daughter in Charleston. I read about the Wild Olive in Dorothea Benton Frank's novel, 'Folly Beach" (the story of Porgy House owned by DuBois & Dorothy Heyward of Porgy & Bess fame). We decided to have dinner at the Wild Olive and everything was outstanding from the atmosphere to the service and especially the food! I would suggest having a copy of her novel on display! The book gives great reviews and having experienced it first hand, we totally agree! Not to be missed! Great press!

The amazing experience this restaurant offers begins in the tastefully landscaped grounds and parking lot. Upon entering, we were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess and quickly seated. The decor was pleasing and there was an energetic, positive vibe. Our waiter was superb, as was the food. In particular, the agnolotti was the best pasta dish I've ever had. We are eager to return.

Wild Olive did not disappoint. We arrived at 5:00 without a reservation. The hostess greeted us with a smile, took our names and we took a seat at the lovely bar. I had a margarita and my husband a bourbon that was recommended. He was very impressed with the recommendation. Within 15 minutes we were told our table was ready. Our first experience was amazing! Our server Mallorie was extremely knowledgeable and helped us navigate. We started with a Caesar Salad and the Octopus appetizer (i could have eaten this 3x over, melts in your mouth). For entrees we had the Lasagna (best we ve ever had), a half order of Bolognese and a half order of the pasta special. Word on the street is you have to get the Bolognese (the word was right) and the special was local cherry tomato four cheese handmade ravioli. Let me say it was ALL divine. I cannot wait to go back! First, Mallorie made the experience, without her charm and knowledge, even with good food, it goes down the drain. SHE WAS AMAZING. Second, a fellow named Ray waltzed about the room helping every server. He had a smile on his face that lit up the room. Every employee was very friendly. We finished with a cheesecake of bourbon/blueberry/peach loveliness, which my husband took pride in devouring. Thanks Wild Olive we will be back! From this Local Charleston gal.
