There are a couple things that are striking about Wild Mind. First and most obvious is the really cool taproom. The bright color theme behind the bar plays really well with the high-ceiling and bright lighting of the main taproom. I visited in the winter so the outside seating wasn't an option, but I will be sure to be back in the spring when the large garage doors that separate the taproom from the outside will be able to be opened and the picnic tables outside can be used. Of course all this wouldn't mean anything if the beer itself wasn't good, but luckily all the beers that I had there were great. There is a lot of variety in styles, from a 10% triple IPA to a great cider, so there is definitely something here for everyone. The bartenders were really friendly as well, so given my experience there I would definitely recommend that you check it out!

The staff is very friendly. BEAUTIFUL modern/industrial tap room. Beers were excellent and clean. Had a food truck on duty. The barrel/fermentation room is really bad ass. Go there. Must supply your own growler. Cheers.

The sour beers here are fantastic. They find the right balance and always have a good variety of different recipes. The traditional beers are great too, but if you are a sour fan, don't pass up the opportunity to try some awesome beer. Comfortable setting and especially great in the summer.

Awesome atmosphere! I'm not a "bar" person, but I really enjoyed it!! The relaxed atmosphere, where the inside half opens freely into the outside half, as well as the relaxed, family ~ friendly atmosphere, complete with pets (leashed) being fully welcome, makes this place truly one of a kind!! The uniquely wide variety of innovative, delicious, quality ales brewed on the premises are unsurpassable! The service is prompt, fully competent, friendly, and very professional. This contributes a great deal to the relaxed, amicable and comfortable atmosphere. The performing groups do as well, especially "The Hawthorne Collection"!!!! All in all, not to be equaled, nor duplicated.

The beer is good, but I gotta agree with some of the other critical reviews here. The atmosphere is not welcoming. There's a lot of signage and rules and just feels... I dunno. Do you need a sign that says "don't steal?" It's weird and not funny. Parking situation also sucks.

Have been here twice in the 2 weeks they've been open. I think I've tried every beer on tap... Nothing disappoints, from the beer to the atmosphere. I especially love the open air outdoor concept. Can't wait for movie nights on the lawn with the projection screen.

No compromise beer selection. Always willing to break the rules and try something new, yet sticking to stuff that brings in the crowds. No flights but tasted and half poured will suffice in this setting. There is a bottle and crowler to go shop and swag shop as well. Usually a food truck.outside and PET friendly. Highly recommend this for out of towners as a must visit beer tourism.

Found this place on accident and was killing some time and atmosphere looked great but beers were not very good. Had 3 different beers: Sauce, Lunch Money & Pizza Science. Talked to buddy later that they have some special yeast and most of the beers are sours... Should have read the back story about how the beers are produced.

Fun space for trivia in Thursdays with a rotating selection of beers. Some are really unusual and very good with an occasional miss. I love the creativity of the options, though so I applaud when they try new things. It is also dog friendly, which makes it a huge plus for me.

Wild Mind offers a wonderful selection of craft beers. The staff are welcoming and energetic, yet laidback. If you enjoy great craft beer and a selection ranging from strong stouts to hoppy IPAs then look no further!

Most of our drinks were good, but not extraordinary. They had non-alcoholic options, which was great, but all we a little too sweet. The (glaring) exception to mediocrity was the Belgian Quad which was one of the best beers of it's class I've ever tasted

I really want to love Wild Mind, but I can't quite get there.
Pros: close to my house, one of the only breweries in the S. Mpls. area, and it has a pretty cool taproom space (including being very dog-friendly).
Cons: Beers aren't very interesting (not very wild, not very hoppy, not very malty...mostly just pale and bland beers), the service is the worst in the metro (bartenders move at a snails pace and their line-management skills are very sub-par), and they are the only taproom in the metro that adds tax on top of their slightly over-priced beers (most places charge $5 and you pay $5 vs $6 +tax).

Awesome place tucked away in a small business park. "Not your usual" beer, fruity base for most, interesting to great. Lots of choices, great mellow atmosphere.Tasty food truck was there, helped with food. Board games, pop, TV, and lawn fun for kids. Dogs get their own mini fire hydrant.

I have to say, this place looks like it has the potential for a huge party. It looks fun. Also, with the employees they have, this people were amazing. Super friendly, super cool. The drinks were really good. I'll definitely come back. I'm impressed.

5+ stars. The rare place and experience worthy of such an accolade: Great beer, great people (both owner/staff and patrons), great food the day I visited (Thanks Que Tal food truck!), and they're dog-friendly. There isn't anything to criticize here. They are in a rare stratosphere when it comes to their brewing process, as they employ open lid cool tanks to innoculate their wort with all the wonderful wild yeasts flying through the Minnesota air. And then, adding a whole other layer to their beers they have a foeder and barrel program in their secondary/aging process. On the day of my visit, they even had some regular beers alongside their barrel-aged counterparts so patrons could experience the complexity and layering these processes give to the beer. The staff here are amazing too, with one of them on my visit being the brewer himself!!! There aren't many taprooms where the brewer is pouring beers for his patrons, and that is what truly stands out about Wild Minds, it is a labor of love and it shows in every aspect, even in customer service. The owner even humored me for a few minutes and talked shop with me about his process, despite my being a lowly home brewer. I should mention the aesthetics and acoustics of their space as well, it is a very aesthetically pleasing and well-designed space and a chill environment in which to drink and listen to their excellent playlists. They have a rotating variety of food trucks, and the day I visited they were even offering a free beer for each meal order you made from the food truck, how cool is that???!!! I think I've found my favorite brewery in Minneapolis.

The business itself is stellar. There's always something new to try, and the prices are very reasonable. The parking situation leaves a lot (pun intended) to be desired, especially in the winter time

Among the many breweries I've been to, this one stands out. Had two ciders and both were excellent--complex, refreshing, aromatic. Also an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. If you're into the local beer scene this place is a must.

A frequently updated selection of ~12 beers brewed in house. Focusing on wild/spontaneous fermentation, many beers have characteristics of bright, juicy, tart, sour, funky. They keep your palate entertained. The styles are incredibly broad, from pilsner, heffe, pale, saison, sour, kvass, neipa, porter, stout, DIPA, Imp stout, cider. There is a regular offering of aged varieties. Annually, the Festival of Oak releases 6-9 barrel aged beauties that are only offered for one day...until they are gone. You must experience it. Dogs are welcome and food trucks are the norm. Outside food is welcome.

I enjoyed redeeming my 2019 Pub Pass on a Saturday afternoon, and I especially appreciated how even the expensive, small batch brews were included in this deal. I liked that they had a TV showing a college football game, though not being able to fill personal water bottles at the water fountain seemed like a weird and off-putting policy to have in place.

I've had a handful or so of their beers and have yet to have one that I don't like. There's been a food truck outside even on weeknights. I'm here on a Wednesday at 7:30 and there's an okay sized crowd. I recommend stopping by.

Beer was okay, service was not. Trivia was terrible. If not common knowledge, it took a quick Google search to discover that most of their trivia "answers" were incorrect. I proved to them a couple times that their answers were wrong, and they were willing to change them, but after so many issues I just became frustrated and gave up hope that they would have the right answers. My frustration and disappointment with the service and wait time to get a beer and their inability to put on a successful trivia night is such that I will never be going back again. There are plenty of good breweries in the area, and this is not one I recommend.

Always had a good time here. Great staff and beer selection. The how they have adapted to social distancing. Only reason I didn t give you 5 was the food truck Que Tal .

Took 30 mins just to get a brisket and chips. Food was bland and simply not worth it. Only bad experience I have ever had there.

Nestled in a unique location, Wild Mind is a different take on the traditional brewery scene here in Minnesota. One of their claims to fame is special cultivation of wild Yeast, as well as sensible ingredients for their craft.

Their two room is decent in size, and offers a hybrid of seating styles that can suit almost anyone. Dogs and kids are welcome in this family safe tap room. Beers are far above average and the atmosphere / neighborhood feel is safe.

The biggest issue is parking, while they do have a lot, it has very few spaces, and street parking is difficult due to driveways of nearby businesses erasing many potential parking spots.

The place immediately made me feel like I was in parochial school with all the rules to follow and unwelcoming atmosphere. When I went up to order I was scolded by the bartender for not ordering from the correct side of the bar. Sorry, I thought a bar was a bar and even one of the many rules to follow said I could order from either side. Then told they don't offer flights and to pick something. I had high hopes for this place because it looked fun and inviting, but ended up being very disappointed.

The best brewery in the Twin Cities for sour beer, and boy do I love my sour beers!! Great bar-back who really makes your experience go from ordinary to extraordinary!! That and Flagsmash -- best potstickers EVER!

10 stars. Seriously, if you enjoy beer that doesn't taste like watered down skunk urine, in my opinion you are A) A true g-ddamn American and, (B) a person of discerning taste who is capable of nuanced conversation and complex reasoning. (AKA: Not a Russian hacker trying to subvert democracy)

At this fine establishment you will find beers which will comfort you, wake your senses, shock you, and then challenge your notion of what flavors a beer should present. Bringing your simple but loveable uncle who grew up on a farm and drank 'bud' his entire life (yes, from birth) is NOT a good idea. (Frankly, he has got to hydrate somehow after a brutal day of work.) Nor is bringing your teetotaling, bouffant-wearing mother who is always judging your friends as being inadequate and wants you to go to medical school even though you only have a bachelor's degree in basket weaving while submerged in liquid. (Unless it is ironic. Then she is straight made for this joint.) However, if you are the kind of person that is willing to brave situations that are truly unique, someone who can see through the veneer of a Nerf-swaddled world, an individual who chooses to push through boundaries - THIS is the place for you.

Now, I must tell you, if you are even a little timid, start with the pilsner. It is an entirely adequate beer and one that compliments a hot, summer night quite well. If you like IPAs, tell your server that you want to start with something hoppy and easy to drink - they won't judge you (always tip well to guarantee that). Once that has been accomplished, trust yourself to delve just a bit deeper into the forbidden closet. Do keep in mind that anything that lists "funk" as a flavor is really not kidding. It's akin to a real friend who will tell you when you actually DO look fat in those jeans. They do it out of love or jealously - either of which are usually honest. There's not a d-mn thing wrong with fillin' up them jeans right proper - nor is there any reason to run from that funk. (If that's a lyric, I swear I didn't plagiarize it.)

The beers are brewed with wild yeast - which, having tried the same, I can assure you is no easy feat. There almost has to be a microbiologist on staff to pull it off. What that leads to is a mysterious combination of flavors that (I can almost guarantee) you have never experienced to this degree. The cool thing about that is you will get a powerful punch of the funk that is normally present only in small amounts in the beverages you are used to. It is very similar to the difference between a nice boule and a sourdough bread. There is something in that sort of peculiar flavor that is quite delightful. The best part: Wild Mind is likely to push you right up to the limit of what you can handle!

Bottom line: Go here and drink the beer. (responsibly - hehe, couldn't resist. But really...) Please. Even if you find yourself a bit confused the first time or two, simply recall how you felt the first time you visited a modern art exhibition (if you haven't, please get your tail to the Walker immediately) - give it another chance. Then give it another chance. Freedom calls.

Delicious beers in a cool, colorful space! Great outdoor access with grassy area and yard games. The part of the brewery that's indoors can be opened up partially with a garage door style wall. This location would easily accommodate a group of upwards of six people. Check the schedule in advance for food truck info.

This is my favorite brewery. They do an exceptional job at creating one of a kind beers that you won t find anywhere else! Seriously a fantastic place with very kind service. Hard to go anywhere else. Fun to play bags with some friends on a weekend, and enjoy some live music!!!

Very nice atmosphere inside. Clean and bright. So many cool flavors. I hate beer, but found two things on the menu that I liked a lot (Pomme Pourie was pretty much just a cider, in my opinion). I'll definitely be coming back here.

We are big fans of this place. Unique beers, good selection of sours, and you can bring the pooch (but keep Fido off the grassy area). You can even find a kombucha if you don't want a beer. They have growlers and crowlers available to take home and have events for special brews. There is a food truck or food stand outside (rotates--won't always be the same offerings) and we have had good experiences with all but one of them. If you love interesting beers, this is an absolute gem. My only wish is that there were more shady seating areas outside.

Bustling brewery with no flight option and an up charge for half-pours Sampled 4 ales from the 15 available. Personally I am not a huge fan of their style of sours and super simple tasting ales. A lot are suppose to have fruity notes but the 4 I selected lacked the fruit power punch. One tasted like orange juice gone off, another like burnt cheerios and another like OFF Deep woods bug spray. Not a fan. Guess I am not their target demographic. Barrel Theory is still my favorite Twin Cities brewery.

Beer was good! Staff was friendly, the rules were...a lot. Kind of killed the vibe, but I get maybe it's tough to be a brewery out there? Either way, definitely try the beer, just don't ask for more that two samples or take any glasses or, I assume, use too much toilet paper?

So impressed with the brewers at Wild Mind. Very creative offerings...have to give a shout out to the new pour, Dante, a beautiful sour that I could drink all day long! Mat Waddell, you are masterful! Don't miss this place...it's awesome!

One of my favorite breweries and not just because it s walking distance of our apartment. The beers here are always so unique and full of the flavor they describe the beer to be. My favorite one I ve had yet is the hibiscus beer, it tastes exactly like the passion tea at Starbucks I love that they always have a food truck most nights & they have a constantly rotating tap which is great for variety

This is my go-to place for hanging out. I visit at least once a week while I work, draw, read, or just hang. If I want a more lively night, I choose their bingo, trivia, or live music nights, or if I want a chill night, I go on Monday s and just hang. Their beers are always good. I am not a huge fan of sours but there is always something that I reach to, whether that be a pale ale, a pile, a stout, or an IPA. The beertenders are awesome. They are super friendly and offer samples and knowledge without judgement or a sour attitude. Bonus: my kids and dog love this place too. I definitely recommend trying it out!

Great selection of specialty beers. The 4 or 5 varieties I tried all were delicious. I'd recommend you start with the Punk Tacos Mango and work your way around the menu from there. The place was spotless, the staff was polite & knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was comfortable and casual. Karyn, our bartender on the initial visit to Wild Minds made the evening one to remember with great suggestions, intelligent conversation, and an enchanting smile. 10/10

This place has consistently delicious and unique beers. They have great IPA options for me and sour options for my partner. Their outside space is sizable and cozy. Wild Minds never fails to delight.

Kind of an out of the way spot, but worth hunting for. A great selection of beer on tap and to take away. Dog friendly as well! You can carry in food and looks like they often have a food truck outside. Check it out while in town for the Final Four this weekend. They have one huge screen for games. Would be a fun place to watch.
