The exhibition's are nice but my favourite part is the cafe! I have returned here many times just to have soup of the day for lunch and enjoy the views of whitworth park. Especially lovely when it's sunny !

Beautiful space surrounded by glorious Whitworth Park. Gallery windows frame spring flowers and picnicking families. The displays and art are a real delight, they make you think and take you on a little time travel. Great place to visit on Oxford Road.
It's nice. The museum has a range of classic and modern art and exhibits that are entertaining for all ages. There could be clearer indicators to show which painting or artwork is which, but it is a very nice collection. Recommended!
A visit to the Whitworth art gallery was a great surprise it s a wonderful laid out art gallery with lots of historic art pieces and a contemporary arts gallery shop with lots of modern space at the rear to hold the new and moving collection of art .it also had a great e xhibition of Cezanne paintings and sketches and a wonderful collection of wallpapers and textiles .included were paintings and tapestry s by Grayson Perry And Tracey Emin amongst many. I found one of Picasso s prints The frugal meal an etching I have always been inspired by and inspired my first drypoint etching when I was at Middlesex University. Wonderful open plan exhibition space and a great community exhibition of a nightclub that was knocked down and the relationships once formed in Moss side etc. Fantastic art gallery and well worth the bus trip or walk down past the Manchester University to see a great collection of art work.
Interesting art and design gallery. Some displays take a bit of understanding but overall a great place to visit while in Manchester. The building is very interesting with some unusual spaces to sit and contemplate. Really nice cafe on site which overlooks the surrounding park.
