The gallery didn't have great exhibitions when we were there and it wasn't clear what was open/closed paid/free. It was difficult to actually spot the building especially as it is so hectic outside and all of the buildings around it look quite tired. That being said it's easy enough to get to - just maybe check whats on before you visit.

I stopped into the Whitechapel gallery whilst waiting for a friend. The space is very carefully curated & takes advantage of some unique angles. I really liked the use of negative space to compliment the artwork on display. The bookshop is great as well!

Bonus feature: Big fan of the staircase design, which let's in a lot of natural skylight.

Easily the best restaurant in Whitechapel/Aldgate. It's cosy with only around 13 tables, so I'd recommend booking, but I did this easily on the day without a problem. The menu changes daily to reflect season produce, and all the dishes I tried were fresh and delicious. My only criticism is that the toilet bins were overflowing, but as they share these with the Whitechapel Gallery, I guess they can't take the blame. I'll definitely be back.

Beautiful place with lots of character and unique overall feel. I've been here so many times and whoever I take with me, they're always left impressed and stunned by the exhibitions. I'd recommend it highly.

Very quaint but fulfilling experience. The gallery was very clean, temperatures were taken open entry and crowd control in all the rooms made me feel safe. The little cade and a apor to sit and read or reflect made it a very good experience
