Love that this concept has come to Baton Rouge! White Star Market is a lively place at lunch, with people young and old bustling through the hall. Lots of options to choose from with Tacos, pizza, Cajun, a bakery and a full service bar. I had a Cajun Cubano from Fete a la fete. It was delicious! Looking forward to going back. My only complaint is that it is so popular, it is tough to find parking and a place to sit during peak hours. If you re not a fan of crowds, I d recommend visiting off peak.

Very neat retail space with a lot of great food in one place. It was hard deciding what to eat with all of the great options. I enjoyed the building decor and lighting. The parking spots are a little tight for larger vehicles, but still managable.

New, cool and crowded.

New, cool and crowded.

I dropped in for lunch on a Friday and browsed to make a selection. Based largely on line length and curiosity, I selected Crawfish Poutine and jalapeno cornbread from Fete au Fete. The etouffee was tasty and spicy. While poutine usually has fried potatoes, this was made with a chunky breakfast style potato, which was a bit oversized for some bites. The cornbread was huge but a bit dry, and the spice kicked in slowly.

I'll go back and try other options, as the concept is good. But I'll plan my visit for a non-peak time as table space can be scarce at lunch and parking is very limited.

The White Star Market is a bit of a hidden gem, at least for me. I saw a recommendation for this place on Google and had to try it out.

It is a mall food court on steroids.

What a great concept!!! A bunch of tables in the middle with restaurants surrounding it. These include:

* A pizza place
* A taco place

* Cajun food
* Juicy place
* Another Asian place
* A coffee joint
* A bar in the corner
* And at least one other place that I cannot remember what it is.

This is awesome!!! Finally someplace to go when I ask her where she wants to go for dinner and all I get is Whatever.

I loved this place - we visited a similar place in New Zealand over Christmas, and ate there several times because there was something for everyone. My husband and I had oysters at Jolie Pearl and they were fantastic! We had the chargrilled (yum) and the lobster butter baked (less yum but still great). The servers were friendly and engaging and offered to shuck a raw oyster for me to try when I asked a question about varieties. Can't wait to go back, but I here parking is a problem at lunch.

Open cafeteria environment with different types of cuisines. If you're craving Ramen and your friend wants Tacos, this is the place to go. This place also has wood-fired pizza. The ramen was very good. Would love to visit again.
