Hello, this is Brian Kenney, the director of the White Plains Public Library, and I am writing in response to Gabriela Flores' post below. I have
had a chance to speak with Ms. Flores, and again I would like to thank her for writing this review and bringing this incident which no Library user should ever experience--to our attention. It is a matter of the utmost seriousness for us.

Several years ago, the Library created a Customer Service Policy that addressed how everyone who uses the Library should expect to be treated.

In part, it states that the Library is committed "...to provide equitable and accessible customer service to all patrons both in person and remotely. Each staff person, regardless of job title, is responsible for providing service that respects the dignity and privacy of the library patron regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, physical limitations, sexual orientation, or any other criteria. All staff members are empowered and expected to offer assistance."

This policy is our promise to the community. It is one of our most important policies, and one that we, as a Library, need to revisit again and again.

Finally, I encourage anyone with a concern about our Library service to contact me. Thanks, Brian

I grew up in White Plains and going to library was a regular thing for me when I was younger. Recently I have been at the library daily. I use the computers to job search and print my resumes. $.15 cent to print 1 page is awesome!! I check out the DVDs and I really never knew they had a huge DVD collection. The self checkout stations are easy to use and everyone I've approached so far has been polite and nice. The only Con is the parking 1 hour is a $1. I would suggest designating an area for the library guests for free parking would be great. Either way the library has been updated and it even has a new cafe. Sometimes you forget how great and important it is to have a free public place like the library.

White Plains Public Library is a cool library. This library is huge, with amazing amount of books and a good vibe of a place you can read in. This library has so much to offer. I wish I lived a little closer, they would see a lot of me here. TO GO!

Best library anywhere! Well I love it. Great books, audio visual, classes, lectures, resources, computer access. The staff is pleasant and helpful. I feel lucky to live in a town now that has such a great resource. I took all my grandchildren there to The Trove too for story hour, to get books, learn on the computer and learn to enjoy libraries.

It has a cool entrance for children s area, but it s not properly maintained. All the toys were everywhere, and there aren t many varieties. Most importantly, there were no paper towels in the bathrooms after washing hands - went into two different bathrooms on that floor, and both of them did not have paper towels.
