Had a great time attending my first writing forum. Well organised, beautiful building, and a great experience. Tickets were amazing, the staff flawless, and I look forward to attending more of what they have to offer.

A fantastic institution that doesn t garner the wider recognition it deserves. Quietly supporting innovative, intelligent and relevant events and engagements. It has the additional bonuses of having a really excellent bar/bistro located below footpath level and is in a central location next to the state library. Keep an eye on their Website for upcoming events (many of them free to attend.

I know I tagged it 2 stars but it's probably ok. It's a long space so it's hard to feel close to the stage. Down the back you are more listening than participating. It feels like a leftover area someone thought they could turn into a hall rather than a purpose built meeting area. The bathrooms are ok, but you would want a while bunch off people getting to use it at once as our would be too small.

I love the Wheeler Centre and think that it's one of the best ways to experience Melbourne. Experts invited to talk for a short piece on something they're interested in and passionate about. People are invited to listen and I think this raises the level of public discourse. It's free and there is an obvious effort to make it accessible and diverse which I appreciate. The podcasts are excellent if you don't make the talks themselves. Staff are always super friendly and helpful.
