This is regarding the admin staff and neurology dept:
Our 9ish year old chihuahua was referred here by our primary veterinarian after presenting with cognitive issues. After her initial exam I got a call from the neurologist who thoroughly explained her findings. We decided to do an MRI and were able to do it same day.
Once the MRI was read it was clear that our sweet dog had a brain tumor and the most humane option was to let her go while she was peacefully under general anesthesia. It was sudden but we knew it was the right decision.
When I arrived at the hospital I was immediately taken to the end of the counter away from the rest of the reception area and given paperwork as well as options for euthanasia, remains, memorial clay paw print, etc. The front desk woman was professional and compassionate.
I was then led to the back where our sweet girl was. As soon as the staff saw me they were somber and respectful. The neurologist went over the MRI with me in person. I was given time and space with my pup. They even let me call family members so they could say their goodbyes on speaker phone. The neurologist explained the process of euthanizing so I would understand what was happening. I will forever be grateful for the immense care and compassion showed to me and my pet. I just picked up her remains and the beautiful clay paw prints and was shown compassion then as well.
For a difficult situation it was handled perfectly by the staff and I greatly appreciate them.
