This is regarding the admin staff and neurology dept:

Our 9ish year old chihuahua was referred here by our primary veterinarian after presenting with cognitive issues. After her initial exam I got a call from the neurologist who thoroughly explained her findings. We decided to do an MRI and were able to do it same day.

Once the MRI was read it was clear that our sweet dog had a brain tumor and the most humane option was to let her go while she was peacefully under general anesthesia. It was sudden but we knew it was the right decision.

When I arrived at the hospital I was immediately taken to the end of the counter away from the rest of the reception area and given paperwork as well as options for euthanasia, remains, memorial clay paw print, etc. The front desk woman was professional and compassionate.

I was then led to the back where our sweet girl was. As soon as the staff saw me they were somber and respectful. The neurologist went over the MRI with me in person. I was given time and space with my pup. They even let me call family members so they could say their goodbyes on speaker phone. The neurologist explained the process of euthanizing so I would understand what was happening. I will forever be grateful for the immense care and compassion showed to me and my pet. I just picked up her remains and the beautiful clay paw prints and was shown compassion then as well.

For a difficult situation it was handled perfectly by the staff and I greatly appreciate them.

The staff here have all been wonderful-Dr. Carbone, Elaine, Stephanie, Billy and anyone else involved in the care of our dog Rigby! They've been thorough, diligent, vigilant and consistent in their care. Their empathy and care for your pet really shows! Yes, this place is busy. And yes, you might have to wait a long time to be seen. It seems to be that many vet clinics and animal hospitals are understaffed and incredibly busy. But the drive and wait is worth the visit knowing your pet is in good hands. We appreciate all of your hard work!!!

I had to put the love of my life Cody down last week. We took him to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital due to it being very close by our home, and we didn t want to commit to a set appointment to put him down. It made us feel more comfortable that we could take him when he was ready to go. The staff was so kind and understanding. It was more expensive than other vets who quoted me, but it was worth every penny. Cody was comfortable and cared for the way he deserved. I would definitely recommend this hospital.
It s also very helpful that they are 24/7 not sure if COVID has played a factor in Vet operations and scheduling, but it s impossible to get an appointment anywhere even for routine wellness.

Staff at this location are some of the best professionals that I've ever had the pleasure to come in contact with. On August 1st, I had to put down my dog son/buddy/companion/best friend of 13 years (black labrador). It was gut wrenching.

From the jump the staff were understanding and accommodating when I called them. Upon arrival, they took careful consideration and exam into my boy's condition. We had no prior experience at this location, but regardless, they treated us with the utmost respect when considering the euthanasia procedure we were about to encounter. The administrative staff, vet tech, and veterinarian were unbelievably considerate. They even waived the $130 exam cost from our visit!

I can't say enough good things about this location. They even sent me a card for condolences and made a clay paw print of my now-passed furry son. So grateful. Thank you, Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital!

If I could give negative stars, I would. I would NEVER recommend this place to even my worst enemy.
My rating exceeded the limit - please read attached.
Never once throughout this process did, I feel comfortable with the emergency vet and we were lied to the entire time about everything. They told us no broken bones, everthing looked good. That was a lie. Our dog most certainly does have a broken bone and they didn't want to tell us because they wanted us to go to their surgey department the next day for them to tell us so we would give them more money. This place is a disgrace and they don t care about animals, all they care about is making money to support their ridiculous building and horrible staff.

My Toulouse had been feeling bad for quite some time. I went to one vet and they were horrible. Toulouse got so sick he was admitted to another hospital but they didn't have a CT Scan. They referred us to Wheat Ridge. Not only did they do the CT and find out what was wrong...they promptly removed it. Poor Toulouse had a nose polyp so big it was blocking both nostrils.

Today he is smelling things for the very first time. Here is a pic of him smelling rain for the very first time!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING TOULOUSE A NEW LIFE!!!

I wish I had a before picture but I don t. I noticed an enormous lump on my cats throat and our normal vet couldn t see us until after the weekend. They advised if we noticed him declining or anything different to go to the emergency/urgent pet care. Well that happened, and I rushed him to the smaller urgent care that we used to live closer to and it was a 7-8hour wait. Understandably, it was the weekend and a smaller office so I asked for other recommendations and went to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital . It was such a relief to hear a 2-3 hour wait time when he was obviously not doing well. They had employees checking on everyone in the waiting areas, giving updates on wait times, etc. As soon as they got him back it wasn t long before the Vet came out to explain everything, give a time, a price, what needed to happen, and I couldn t believe how reasonable it was. They did everything sent us on our way with directions. And his wound healed so clean with no issues. It s never a best case scenario going to an emergency vet, and this experience was. Will definitely take any of our animals there in the future.

I am so impressed with Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. My Kipp injured his hip and needed major stuff done. Unfortunately it was during the crazy snowstorm. No vet in my area would keep him and do pain management until I could get him to your facility. We braced the storm and made it to you. Without questions you took Kipp and kept him comfortable and managed his pain until the surgery team could get there.

The surgeon was amazing. They talked in depth with me about each option and helped me choose the best for my Kipp.

The staff that did intake, the staff that answered phones, the staff walking in the parking lot all were friendly, kind, and so helpful.

THANK YOU. FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. THANK YOU!!!!!

Starting to rethink this place. Missed a phone call around 12:39 PM. on Sunday October 24th telling me about a procedure fo my kitty on Monday. The message asked for me to call them back to let them know which way to schedule the appointment. Called numerous times and no one bothers to pick up the phone let alone be able to leave a message. If I am going to spend a great deal of money here and this is the best they can do, then perhaps I will spend my money elsewhere. This is ridiculous!! My review is actually zero minus stars but I had to put at least one and they don't even deserve that.
