Westmark Fairbanks Hotel & Conference Center Review

Half of the doors at every entrance don't work. The continental breakfast was oatmeal and toast and fruit. :/ Lacking. But the customer service was fine.

Too crowded with cruise line tourists. Not enough room for us to get dinner in their restaurants and no others close to hotel.

While the room was lovely, I was woken at 3am by a truck emptying the dumpsters outside, and at 5am by hotel employees loading luggage for cruise passengers. It was incredibly disruptive and when I actually got up in the morning I was still exhausted.

Great hotel in Fairbanks. The room is what you expect from a hotel. We checked in early morning, and it was fast. They have complimentary breakfast, with some hot options, cereals, juices, milk, coffee. The view is great. Additionally, there is a gift shop, wifi, lunch. Recommend staying here.

I was here only for a mother's day brunch.Unfortunately I was unable to spend it with my own mother but I attended this phenomenal meal with a newfound friend of mine and her family. The food was excellent and the service was superb.There was a lot to keep attention on and a lot of work to keep an energized attentive smile but they did it.And they did it. Thank you for a fantastic day.

Large rooms, everything looked clean at check in, large laundry room, exercise facilities, computer room. I've been to 3 different Westmarks and this is by far the best of them.

Entire busloads descend on the restaurant at the same time, resulting in long waits at the restaurant. Miniature toilets, approx 3/4 scale makes for an interesting first sit-down. No Wi-Fi in rooms, only in main lobby.

Tiny room, very busy because of all the tours passing through, and the hotel lost power for many hours and gave no compensation.

Very clean and modern hotel. The rooms were comfortable with blackout curtains

Terrible pillows, my neck is killing me! And no lotion! Purposely didn't pack this item, so heavy, forgot my razor, buy it at the little store! Wow things have changed!

Clean, quiet, professional hotel, up to date amenities & friendly staff.

Hotel was very nice but our room was next to the elevators. Hard to sleep with elevators going up and down into wee hours. Would suggest you ask for room away from elevators.

Nice hotel for Fairbanks, especially when considering the rate. Entire building needs a technology upgrade! If you decide on a night "in" you will be seriously disappointed with the TV and Internet provided. I travel for business and normally work late while catching a movie, not here.......tube TV with horrible fuzz and no movies. Unable to use Netflix on my ipad, bummer.

Accommodations were pretty standard. The staff was well mannered and professional. The room was a bit warm and stuffy but it was quite crowded so I can't exactly fault the hotel for that. Overall it was a good experience. We will return.

The hotel room was grimy (sofas and carpet). No one came to clean up the room though we asked for it. Phone wasn t working. Dimly lit. They have parking in the back but the doors don t open even with a key in the night which is a bummer because we had to walk in super cold and snow to the front few times.

Absolutely terrible. According to booking.com the hotel should have had many free rooms. The receptionist however told us they are fully booked and suddenly, when we told her about the booking info, she started to say something about her manager and said she could provide the room if the booking said so. The room was so horrible we started to regret that we were able to sleep in here after all. Don't go to this hotel if you consider shower to be basic equipment of the room. The shower leaked and the water pressure was probably the worst I've EVER seen. The wifi is also kind of useless as it almost doesn't work.

Extremely friendly...the wing I stayed in was clearly older, but they kept the rooms very clean

The quality of the room is in line with your typical mid-range hotel, but the breakfast left something to be desired. Mostly just a bunch of undesirables pastries, pretty much the bare minimum to be considered a "continental" breakfast.

I was there seeing a bud in town and we met a lady who had gotten locked out and was pretty confused and hungover. They sent up two *women* to help her, and had a radio in case they needed backup bc they weren't sure how much help she needed. BRAVO. Love seeing it, for real. Plus they got a boss location and killer views.

The hotel was nice looking and all, but the room smelled like smoke and made me sick.

Good hotel, breakfast could use a make over but the beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet. I would stay again.

This has become my go to hotel in Fairbanks. They have good in-hotel restaurants, curtious staff, and clean facilities. Would definitely recommend.

Rooms are very dated compared to other offerings in the area. Front desk staff member at check in was very unprofessional and at some points rude. Would look for for different place before I stayed here again

Regular hotel, with clean and nice rooms, had a view of the mountains from the window. If you decline daily room service, you get a 5$ coupon for their restaurant. They have a aurora wake up service if the lights were showing.

Adequate amenities, very busy bus hub. Laundry facilities not great

The rooms have plenty of outlets and the WiFi appears to reach every room, but it is very slow. There is no breakfast, however there is a very good buffet at the restaurant in the lobby. I highly recommend the potato soup and chicken parmesan if you eat dinner there as well. The rooms have CRT televisions for some reason, so that's another hit. Overall a good experience.

Pleasure to stay at hotel, very clean all personal at hotel kind ,courteous and helpful.

When we were in the front lobby it's dirty carpets,furniture etc. The front desk people were not very helpful when I had questions about the vending machines on all the floors were empty. The Upland cruiseline was orgainized with all the information.

Hotel was in the heart of Fairbanks, was walking distance to the main street of shopping and restaurants. Their restaurant had nice atmosphere. Rooms were ok-clean and comfortable .

The staff is friendly and very accommodating. They are quick to give all the information required for tours, restaurants or roaming around the town. They are also very knowledgeable about the history of fairbanks. The riverboat tour adventure is a must also a visit to the Denali national park and the White sulfur hot springs. The rooms at the hotel were comfortable, but the Internet (WiFi connection) was horrible , no smart TV, nothing fancy. If you are in Fairbanks for the adventure, to learn about the history and culture then the Westmark Hotel is the place for you. The staff is amazing and the restaurant attached to the hotel in very convenient and the food is good. I loved it.

If what we stayed in was a "suite" then I'd hate to see what their normal rooms are like. One lady that helped us was extremely rude, other than that everyone else was nice.

While I have attended many events at the Westpark Fairbanks Hotel & Conference, my most recent visit was enjoyable. The salad was tasty despite being covered in limp onions and blue cheese. The room was well-decorated and almost large enough for the people who paid to attend. The acoustics of the room were good. I would recommend this venue for other events.

The dim lighting always gets me because it'sdark and hard to photograph/film in. Other than that it is a great place to hold a major event. The food is good and the staff pleasant. There is also a great bar and restaurant I often go to even if food is being offered at the event I'm attending.

Stayed here as part of the land tour with Holland America. Clean and modern. Recommended for sure.

I enjoy the food and drinks here as well as the atmosphere and ambience. Great restaurant, great for parties and nice hotel rooms if you are looking for lodging.

Great hotel and convention center. We had an event there and it was very well priced and the food that was catered was excellent and the service was unbelievably amazing. I am really impressed.

Very friendly staff in all areas. Acoustic insulation not very good as it was all to obvious what was happening in the adjoining bathroom. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. Restaurant had good selection.

A truly impressive hotel, especially the suites! They have done an incredible job with the upkeep, with eye catching touches such as the build-ins for the TV. Restaurant is charming and welcoming.

Food is good, buffet was refilled service for the conference was keeping up with water,tea and coffee service.

Awesome staff and nice rooms. However, food & drink on the premise is grossly over priced.

My family and I were there in July on a Holland America Land and Sea Tour. I had left my camera on a Holland America bus and one of the Holland America employees was kind enough to turn it in to the front desk. An employee from the Westmark Hotel (front desk) stole our camera. We had to call in the police to file a report. Security checked the camera videos and could not find anything because the cameras were not facing the correct angles. After months of fighting with management from the Westmark chain and Holland America we still have not gotten compensated for what was stolen from us. The camera has no value to us but what was stolen from us was years of saving for a trip of a lifetime. Now I have nothing to show, no memories. That is what hurts the most. I find it hard to believe that the hotel chain would hire people to work there that are dishonest and basically crooks. I do not recommend staying here. They have an employee that steals from its customers. So sad that a big chain like Westmark can not stand up to the plate and admit what happened was wrong. Whats worse is that they are wiping their hands with it and not taking responsibility. Do not stay here.

Nice and friendly staff, clean, good restaurant and comfortable bed.

Location close to airport and downtown. Hotel is clean and fresh. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Rooms well appointed and comfortable. Had dinner in breakfast room. Food excellent and good portions. Servers seemed to be new and inexperienced. Dinner front desk staff were diisorganized in keeping track of empty tables and seating people. Unnecessary waiting time.

My family and stayed here for New Year s Eve and had a great time. The hotel was very easy to fine. Staff at the front desk, conference rooms and restaurants were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were very reasonably priced and clean. The store inside the lobby had really nice souvenirs and delicious homemade treats! Would recommend this hotel for any special event.

A lot of misinformation with staff, you can ask 5 employees the same question and get 5 different answers. Rooms were a nice size and pretty clean

Staff was warm and helpful, restaurant was great. Room was cozy. All you need really.
