So others do not have to go through this nightmare
I sent over ₱80,000 to someone in CH. I learned a day that the transfer was refunded because the receiving bank did not accept the funds, yet I received no email about the failed transaction.
Since the 15th of September, I have been calling and chatting with Western Union CS, begging them to expedite the refund because this is a medical emergency. I was told 5 to 7 business days, then given the same scripted replies every day. I was promised call-backs that never came. I even waited two hours under the sun for a promised call and walked 20 minutes to find a signal, only to be ignored again.
This is not a small amount. It's over ₱80,000. It is my own money, and it was my patient’s lifeline. The lack of compassion, transparency, and urgency is unacceptable.
Please act with integrity. Notify customers immediately when a transfer fails. Provide a clear status, a trace, and a firm timeline, and process urgent cases with real priority. No one should have to experience what I did.
