Does not focus on retaining residents. They will treat you like a bag of change. This company tried raising our rent when every unit in our complex was reducing its pricing during the COVID economic issues. They would not decrease rent value for a renewed lease when similar units were reduced by $500 per month. We notified that we would not renew our lease and the list price online the next day for our unit was $75 less than our renewal price. Absolutely ridiculous! Lucky enough we are intelligent enough to not be taking advantage of. Be aware of their scams.

UPDATE: Now it s $400 less then what they were requiring us to renew at.

I had an outstanding experience living at Sycamore Canyon. The onsite staff was very professional and personable and maintenance requests were addressed promptly. The buildings and property were very well taken care of. Not only have I been a client of theirs, but they have now been a long term client of mine. Their professionalism and business ethics are unfailing. It's a pleasure partnering with a company that is truly passionate about helping others and investing in their properties and people. They are one of my favorite apartment management companies!

Applied for their Sycamore Canyon property. We were told we couldn't see the unit until we applied and were approved (it's covid times but we toured dozens of other OC complexes with no issue). The process took 6 full days (the 1st two were because they were on their weekend) and 39 emails where they asked for every type of info you can imagine to prove we made enough $. It took 4 days because they would not talk on the phone, everything had to be email, and when they'd ask for a document we sent it right away but they then took hours to reply and it was continually, "not good enough, we need more documents." After we provided proof of all types of income they said we still didn't make the required 3x the rent (they were using our net pay instead of gross as was indicated on their app) so then we got into savings accounts. That's pretty obsessive about money and their obsession continued when they bumped us to a higher rate because a week had passed and we needed a few days to get ready to move. We asked for a few days leeway as they took 6 days to approve us, but they refused. We accepted this and delayed our move. The next selected move-in date was our first week back to work after covid shut-down so we said we couldn't come down with the check until the next day. They said we missed the move-in date so they had to bump us to the next higher rate. That was it for us as the unit was now $120/mo higher than we had started. We cancelled and they then relisted the unit for less than the original rate we'd agreed to (the rate they refused to let us return to). This company is more rigid than an AI computer and they are so greedy that you will get screwed in every way they can find.

Have lived at CMVA for over 10 years. Office manager Lisa W. unprofessional, disrespectful, and lacks integrity toward residents. She becomes personally involved with the residents and then tells documented lies about her actions. Stay away.

Worst place to live. Managed horribly and they will find every way possible to take as much money as possible from you. Even on moving out they charged me for damages that they are lying about. They kept $800 security deposit and wanted a additional $600 that is insane! We left it picture perfect.
