Western Carolina Universtiy Review

Balsam is pretty quiet, but it's a really nice place to live. Staff is great and super helpful.

Walls are a little thin but the dorm is located in the middle of campus where most buildings are at least a 5-9 minute walk. It's also right next to courtyard food court, which is both a blessing and a curse! For someone who doesnt want to live at the top of campus, this dorm is a good alternative

Cannot say enough about the Honors Dorm! It is beautiful and right in the center of campus!

Stayed here most of freshman year. It was always quiet, sometimes eerily so. That being said, the walls are made of tissue paper. I could hear a normal speaking volume conversation next door pretty well. The overall quiet made this not the biggest deal. The toilets were so incredibly loud it s not even funny. I d be woken up by them. But of all the dorms I ve been in at western, this seems to be pretty standard. The RA s were fantastic and always ready to help.
