San Jose State Event Center Review

I don't know how to rate a place like this. It's fine, I guess?

I was here to see the bands The Beta Machine and A Perfect Circle. The venue was very low key and relaxed.. everyone just wanted to have a good time! Security was really tight but there weren't too many problems. Most everyone respected the rules and didn't film or take pictures during the performance It was easy to pick up my ticket from will call and get inside. The bathrooms were cleaner than most, however the toilet was not flushed in my stall. They did, however, have the good soap! Before the show my friends and I were hungry so we grabbed some food from the in the student food court not too far from the venue! The whole experience made me want to go back to school and persue my dreams! Parking.. it was in a garage. They did the best they could with what they had Always get there early!

This event center is pretty big. However, the seats are not very comfortable and the sound system is not that great either.

First concert that I have attended in the US. Great experience

Building is not easy to get lost in.

Attended an SJSU basketball game today. While the team lost a close game, the event center was well-staffed, plenty of good seats and parking was easy to access.

Liked the big screen, for viewing the stage, & the quality sound system.

Sound quality is pathetic. Could not listen what the singers were talking.
The "security" do not let people enjoy the show.. keep asking tha audience to be seated, not to stand.. I have attended 2 3 shows here now.. not anymore.. never going back to SJSU event center.

It's clean. Good sitting arrangements. Parking for events its $15 follow 7th street and San Salvador.

Food was over priced but everything else was fantastic! Even the bathrooms were clean considering there was a bunch of teenage girls ruining around there all night.

Great large center with a lot of possible customization for events. They won't let outside food in, though, and the inside food is expensive.

Good place to see a show. However they don't allow any photos or video to be taken. So if you go see a concert you won't be able to snap too many keepsakes.

The view from the side stands isn't great. Acoustics were alright.

It's great for music concerts, surrounding sound system is great, just hoped during raining seasons the checking in process is shorter, or just releasing the crowd earlier to avoid accidents, and adding some directory signs might help a lot, cheaper and effective.

Very rude guards! Ruined my day. I don't know why do you have such guards at an event.

Had a great time watching the San Diego State at San Jose State playing basketball.

Hard to find where to go to actually get to the event center but it was a great dvsn concert

Very easy to get to and the concert was very enjoyable with comfortable seating.Nice venue with refreshments and easy access.

Ok audio. Convenient location. Plenty of free parking if you are willing to walk a few blocks east and south (and avoid $15 event parking with long wait times to get in and out)

No phone camera rule was pretty bad, but, overall I had a good time.

Was my family's first time to the SJSU and it was nice to have a place to park. It was under construction at the time so it there was alot of detours. The event center was very nice I very large. The cheerleaders were very motivating and really engaging the crowd. The kids had alot of fun.

It is a wonderful place to see a 5 SoS concert! Getting in was a hassle with General Admission... not a fan of the long hard standing wait for 2 hours straight after waiting for 4 hours sitting on the cement, but once you are inside, the seats are wonderful and the music sounded awesome!

Nice venue. Get here early though, the lines tend to get long.

Stadium seats with backs to watch the FIRST robotics tournament.

Lots of events going on at same time, lots of room and parking

No wheelchair seating in the whole arena! Seriously.

Zero bathrooms until you make it thru the lines. Security extremely rude.

The center is good place to have concert. The sounds system is great.

Went there for my daughter's graduation. Very nice center.

Came here to watch WWE NXT, and OMG there was NO bad seat in the house. Can't wait for next year!

This hall is great and it s perfect for concerts and events

I would rate it 5 stars but the parking is a bit wonky. There is only one path up and down. If you're on the 5th floor plan on waiting 45-60 minutes before you're going to get out.

Amazing. Big enough to fit a huge crowd for concert. Lots of restrooms. Clean. Many parking lots near by.

Pretty good. Food was okay, but the staff didn t let us record during the concert which was a bummer.

What's with security here these days? They took my Luna Bar and gum. A little uncalled for - no?

I went to a Why Don't We concert there. Great experience, but they won't give you bottled water. They dump the bottle of water into a cup and give it to you. Plus, they don't allow signs. I spent 4 hours working on a sign, and they didn't let me bring it in but when I got in there others had signs.

It is a okay venue for concerts. It's not big so usually you get to pay less and sit closer. However it's not big so don't expect a fancy stage or a cool lighting design.

nice place for a small intimate concert/party. staff could use some work...but that's not too much of a deal breaker.
being a campus venue also gives the added benefit of a fair am mount of parking.
could use a bigger loading bay, though, but that isn't a real issue for the average attendee

went for a Shreya Ghosal concert. very nicely organized

Mid sized venue for concerts. It was fun to watch perfect circle play here. Food and alcohol are over priced during events.

Excellent place. It has security throughout the campus. Free Wi-Fi for students, employees and guests, in addition to the Eduroam network. Excellent structure to accommodate the general public well. Well located. It has several restaurants and fastfood nearby.
They also have a very interesting transportation system, in which it is possible to rent electric scooters or bicycles so that you can get around the Campus more quickly. There are at least 3 large parking lots nearby. The event center itself is well organized. It has several emergency exits and signs.

Bit of a walk from the entrance to the actual event.

Small arena with ok acoustics. There is a second concession stand around the corner so no need to stop at the first one you see.

Nice quaint venue to watch NCAA Division I Men's & Women's College basketball. Only suggestion would be more street signage,(banners,vinyl signs, billboards, etc.) from the Hwy 87 off--ramp to the venue, along Seventh St. Every seat in the place provides a good view, and at women's games, fans can sit really close to the court - allowing them to see & hear things (Coaches & players) that one may not be able to experience in a larger arena. Overall, I love it! Just wish there was more support, in terms of attendance, for the team's that play home games here.
