West End Salon Review

I can't say enough about West End Salon and Spa my haircuts and toners are always exactly what I asked for.The hairdressers have mad talent. Literally you feel spoiled when you walk through the door . They also have other services there as well. Hair extensions, makeup and much more. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Come check it out for yourselves. I know you'll be very happy.

First time at West End and definitely not the last time. Donald was ready for me and made my ideas for my hair a reality. 2 days before my wedding(I know I procrastinated on that one) I m very pleased with the results and will trust Donald with every hair cut and style. Thanks for helping make my new hair style and my wedding hair perfect!

Upscale salon, great location, amazing products and awesome stylists. Kim gets my hair right every time.

First time there and Lou did an awesome job!! She cleaned up my ends and even gave me the cutest style adding some curl to my look, I loved it and appreciated how she made me feel comfortable. :) Thanks Lou!

Really wanted to be happy with this place, I tried twice. The first time I felt like the stylist was a little rude about my dry hair, however, I tried to look past it and bought the products she recommended to fix it. They made my hair worse. I tried one more time after trying someone else in between because I thought the cut had been decent. The second time I got a horrible cut. I asked for a trim and she gave me a completely different cut than I had, and not only that but there was a point in my hair where the layers were cut completely straight across leaving a visible ledge in my hair. Even my husband could see it and he doesn t notice anything. It was horrible.

Super nice salon. It was very bright and clean and everyone was very professional. A little pricy but it s definitely because it s upscale. Lexie was my stylist and she did a great job of doing what would make me happy while still letting me know what was best for the health of my hair (aka not bleaching the life out of it.) I will be back!

I have been struggling to find a salon hair stylist that understands my needs and I can officially say I have met my match. Erika managed to blend in my new baby hairs into my longer hair and I am in disbelief what she could do. She is very genuine and took the time to sit with me and gave me exactly what I wanted. She was very honest and cared about the integrity of my hair. I am so excited to see the next process we are doing with my hair.

I just love the attention to detail that Donald gives! He ALWAYS listens and I'm always happy with results! Thanks again

Lexie F did my makeup and is so wonderful! She was gentle, friendly, and made sure the look I was going for was what she would do. I ve had my makeup done several times and never had a result this stunning!

Lou did an amazing color and cut!! The cut is perfect and my hair falls just as it should and that s not an easy job with my hair. I had no time with travel and the holidays to have my hair done before leaving town so I booked West End. I am so pleased with my two process color that I can t say enough about Lou. The reviews speak the truth and perhaps they should get 6 stars!

I cannot recommend west end enough, I was so happy when I found them after a bad haircut I got elsewhere! Nelson and Kim are so kind and Kim does amazing things with hair, my husband see Donald and loves what he does for his hair as well, as long as west end is in Rochester we will never go anywhere else! If you haven t been I highly suggest giving them a try!

I have now been to this Salon twice since moving to Rochester. The last time I went, about a week ago, I came in with kind of a vague idea of what I wanted, and I left with one of the best haircuts I have ever had! My stylist was Don, and he gave me a cut perfectly suited for my face shape and hair-type. It is very different from what I had before, but exactly suited to me. Now that I have had it for a several days, I appreciate how low maintenance it is. Thank you!

Great experience here! It was my first time getting color and I am in love. Lexi knew exactly what I was asking for and did an amazing job!

Donald has been doing my hair for years. He is very professional and always knows exactly what I need, especially when I do not!! He is always willing to try new things, but keep a modest opinion on what he thinks works best for me. He doesn't allow me to make haste decisions that would stray myself from portraying my personality. He always does a fantastic job on my color, the best actually. He always cuts my hair just as I need it and he is ALWAYS willing to listen to my needs over my wants. There has NEVER been a time I have walked away from his chair unpleased with his results. This is from over decades of hair time with my favorite stylist, named Donald K.

I've been to West End a few times, and I've decided I will never go back. There's a short man with dark hair who basically does nothing but stare. It's extremely creepy, and it aways makes me feel uncomfortable. I've continued going there because the stylist (Maddy) does wonderful work, but I don't even use my real name when I schedule appointments. He's that creepy--like I don't want him finding me on Facebook. The last time I was there, the atmosphere was so tense that not even even the stylists seemed to feel comfortable talking. I don't know what his job is supposed to be, but the owners/management should seriously consider letting him go. It would make the establishment 100% better.

I am new to town and before I left my other home I knew I would need a stylist of course! So I started my hunt via the internet. I have fine hair and so does she. She got me Lexi was great,I told her what I wanted and she did exactly that! I am a hair stylist as well and I know what is a great hair cut I wish I could leave a photo of my hair here! It s fabulous darlings

Lexi and Ali put up with my extremely hard schedule and the fact I know nothing about what I am doing with my hair. Their humor, patients and professionalism is top notch, not to mention the way I feel when I walk out of that salon, don t give up on me ladies! I need you!

My hairblow out was done beautifully. I was happy and felt beautiful walking out. The salon is well kept, classy and interior decor reminds me of my NewYork salons. I love this place and would recommend them to my friends. The place also follows covid precautions, temp checks etc. We have to follow these guidelines and keep our local business get through this pandemic.

ATTENTION ALL BLONDES! I ve been going to West End for about 2 years now and can confidently say I have found the absolute best colorist and stylist I have EVER had. I ve been receiving a balayage and tone for roughly 10 years and no one even compares to the masterful work of Alexis, Lexi. She is incredibly knowledgeable as well as upfront and honest in regards to what style and/or color is realistically attainable given your current hair condition and type. Her expertise is worth every penny and minute hands down. Lexi, you are a godsend and my hair thanks you! :)

I have been here twice and they always go above and beyond! Meghan is not just a great person but she also does an exceptional job as a stylist. I ve always been super happy with my hair every time I ve come to her! The rest of staff has always been wonderful as well!

I received amazing service from Nelson and Dani! The salon is super chic, uses high quality dye and hair products, and the everyone is so knowledgeable and accommodating! You can t ask for anything else from a salon !

Best place in town to go to! West End Salon is always clean and accommodating. Appointments are easy to set up and customer service all around is great. Donald is one of the best stylists that I have ever had. He listens to what you want/look for in a hair cut and helps you explore new options too. Even before Covid this salon was very clean and sanitary and continues to do so. I have a membership which is great for my needs. Hands down a 5/5 place each and every time.

Aimee gave me a new look and a prefect red color. Her haircut was very professional. I Definitely recommend her and the salon. Everyone was friendly, smiling and welcoming.

I absolutely love West End Salon! I ve been to Meghan for a cut and color and both were amazing! The staff is so friendly and the salon is very clean and welcoming!

My mom and I got our eyebrows tinted. We were their last appointment of the day. We were not satisfied with the work that they did and they were not interested in helping fix that the dye didn t take to our eyebrows. You could tell they wanted to go home. We left spending $50 on our eyebrows that didn t even change! Not impressed.

Lovely salon. I drive 3 hours round-trip to have my hair done by Donald. He is simply amazing. See him, you'll love what he does!

Very, very expensive. Hair cut cost 45 dollars and all she did was trim my hair. Great stylist. Horribly expensive prices.

Very nice people and they got me in last minute. But blow out was not done too well. It s hard to find someone who can do thick curly hair. It would help using the right type of round brushes.

Lexie cut and colored my hair and did an amazing job. She took the time to discuss options and the products that she was using. It was the best service that I have had.

Donald Kimber is absolutely amazing. I have platinum blonde hair however my roots where several inches grown out. He was able to get my dark brown roots to match the rest of my super blonde. Then he added a lilac silver toner and he made my hair a beautiful purple! He also took off all the dried ends. I left with gorgeous shinny healthy looking hair. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair the way I trust him.

I had such a horrible experience at Shear Envy and the stylist here SAVED MY HAIR. The Manager/Owner has also been so professional and kind in helping me and I have been nothing but happy with their work and their services. I have only good things to say about this place! A previous stylist completely messed up my hair, twice, at Shear Envy and refused to acknowledge any of my complaints, trying to make me feel guilty and dismissing all my complaints on the basis that I wasn t the professional and didn t know what I was talking about. She offered me absolutely no reimbursement and was inherently rude and unprofessional. After coming to West End Salon I was almost in tears after seeing my hair fixed into how I originally wanted it. I honestly can t say anything but good things about this place!

I received an amazing blow out from Lexie F on Saturday. She gave me gorgeous beach waves and was so sweet and easy to talk to. The service was great, and salon was clean and modern. I will be returning!

I have only been here once. I asked for shoulder length and received a bob. The stylist wasn t talking to me. AND when she was brushing my hair, she was ripping it from the roots, not bothering to untangle from the bottom. I spent $45 on a bad haircut and an awkward-nonexistent-conversation. I will not be going here again. I do not recommend.

I have gone through 3 or 4 different hairstylists in Rochester, so when I was recommended to Donald, I figured I'd give it a try. He is amazing, and totally understands what I want in my hair!!

I absolutely recommend this salon! I had gone to another salon for years & ended up switching to West End & I am so happy I did. Lou did an amazing job at fixing my hair, recommended amazing products to use to get my hair back healthy & is AMAZING with color! I always leave with a smile on my face & loving my hair. Since first walking into this hair salon you are greeted by kind and smiling staff who even offer you coffee or water while you wait for your stylist. Not only are the receptionist so welcoming and happy but their stylists are amazing. Since I have been going to this salon I have had nothing but great experiences. Erika, a stylist at West End is amazing at what she does. Not only does she have a passion and love for making people look and feel beautiful but her personality makes her even more amazing. She makes you feel so comfortable and even takes the time to get to know you personally and make you laugh. I am always extremely happy with the results of my session and feel like she really listens to her client's wants and needs.
Not only are the stylists great but the esthetician is wonderful as well. She takes the time to listen to your concerns regarding your skin and also takes pleasure in quick performing a free makeover. She really helps answer any of your skin questions and give you free tips and information that can help better the condition of your skin. Each time I have been in to West End she helps to give me a quick makeover and I am always amazed of what she can do in just a few minutes.
I could go on and on about the wonderful experiences I have at this salon but I hope that you can just go and experience this place for yourself. I drive more than ONE HOUR to see these wonderful people. Wonderful, wonderful salon!

I had a wonderful experience with the stylist Lexie. She did a great job on my hair and I look forward to returning soon.

I was able to make a last minute online appointment with Lexie who i read by reviews a highly recommended stylist. I am an out of town patient at the Mayo Clinic and was looking to freshen my look as I ve been so sick. Lexie took a complete history and explained every step before implementation. Her hair cut was spot on what I wanted. I have explained in detail to other people in my life the haircut I got today and other people still can not do it the way Lexie did today without much explanation needed. My hair color is rich and solid and was a corrective color to what I had done previously to it and it looks healthy and bouncy. I didn t feel rushed and she was pleasant to talk to. I felt like I knew her all of my life. I left with some products to extend my look as I was out of town and didn t know how to continue this rich color. I was thankful for that. I told Lexie my budget and I thought I stayed inline with that. Lexie explained the pricing before starting and that is a great thing so little people do now a days. I went totally out of my budget because I like to tip more then 20 percent and I bought extra product but for the experience I had today as a sick patient I would pay it again. I do not spend money on myself very often and with everything going on I treated myself to a great corrective color and cut that I know will grow out very well too! The only negative thing I will say is I love six hours away and how will I come back to see Lexie? I will just have to make the drive!

This is a great place to be pampered! Kimberly is a fantastic stylist and a wonderful person. We recommend West End Salon|Spa to anyone wanting a superb experience is one the chicest locations in Rochester!

I called in for a price check, they told me $118-$135 for a partial foil, specified what color I wanted and everything, and asked for a 15 minute consultation. I get there, and they tell me *$300* is the STARTING price for what I want, and that the next available appointment, which I thought was happening when I GOT there, it was never specified that the consultation would be a whole appointment on it's own, is 2 weeks away. Dying half my hair pink should NOT be over $300. If you're looking for someplace good that won't absolutely destroy your wallet, find somewhere else.

Very impressed with the services I received during both of my visits. Meghan went "above and beyond" my expectations. This will definitely be my new favorite salon!

DevonLee is the only person I will ever let do my hair, she is absolutely incredible and has always been able to accomplish exactly what I ask for. I have never left her chair unhappy and I would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting the best.

I had a much past due mom doo going on and just when I thought I hit a place of no return, he came to the rescue with an updated style that made me feel both more like my authentic self, as well as being a more manageable style that I will be able to keep up with. The salon was light and airy. The staff were very helpful. I went to get my hair colored. For what I wanted, it took about 4 hours. But the final results were absolutely stunning! Highly recommend this place! A big thanks to Lexie for coloring my hair.
