I had an outside lift fitted in July. It has NEVER worked on more than a few occasions. Now the lower gate hasn't opened for three weeks and no one appears to be making any effort to fix it.

Waiting 6 months for step lift repair.

Waiting 6 months for step lift repair.
We have a polock step lift supposedly being maintained by Wessex lifts under contract from the local council.
Grumpy engineers failed to get the lift working then we were forgotten about for months. Only after concerted efforts to chase the repair did they finally turn up. Then decided more parts we're needed. More chasing and eventually parts installed but lift still not working.
Communication with us has been very poor. Only in response to concerted chasing do we get any information on what is NOT happening next...
Cancelled appointments with the excuse they a a duty of care to other callers. What about the duty of care to my wife, stuck the house for six months?
Still waiting....

Awful. Builder went through gas main, damaged driveway, telephone cable, failed to reroute down pipe, built off spec, managed to fail to build to any measurement, built a ramp where the wheelchair went in three wheels
Wessexand could tip, representative thought it was fine like this, Wessex produced balustrade leaving 1.35m drop exposed, whilst protecting .2 m drop. Complained to managing director and it still took 3 months to fix. The company has a contempt for disabled families as they consider the Local Authority the customer. Counting down the days until we can rip out the lift. LA occupational therapist refuses to sign off the installation as safe to use but we refuse to ensure another 10 months of misery.

Terrible, the service is great from an answering phone point of view ,The knowledge and technical ability BIG FAT ZERO. Council insist on this company to service and repair the lift a Thyssen Krupps Encasa, Oh Wow can they not. To be fair to the engineers they actually say before hand they don't understand the lift. So to the HEAD OFFICE WHY DID YOU TAKE THE CONTRACTS ON!!!! Yet again I'm stuck upstairs having had a conversation with the engineer who tells me he cant repair it and it'll have to be passed over to someone who can the next day. Cheers Wessex for your absolutely appalling service. If you cant do the job dont tell Councils who pay you that you can. Leaving the disabled and elderly out to dry.

If you purchase a lift from this company and know that you will never want it removed I d say go ahead. However, if you know you are likely to want the lift removed at a later date, my advice would be go elsewhere. My parents purchased a More

Friday December 22nd my Mums stair lift broke down, breakdown reported, the engineer gets to it the following afternoon (23 12 2017),, main circuit board blown and no longer available. (when the lift was serviced some time ago the engineer reported that it needed to be replaced - it wasn't). The engineer says he might be able to locate a used but serviceable circuit board, he does and comes back the following day, (24 12 2017), that circuit board blows. he says he will try and locate another one. He calls me that evening to say he has found two and will hopefully come the following morning, (25 12 2017). Late afternoon I text him to see if he is still coming? Early evening he rings me to say he has been given more calls and is exhausted and cannot get to my mums lift. he asks me to rebook this morning (26 12 2017), as he will have done his Christmas cover and it will be someone else. I ring early to try and get ahead of the queue, I'm told the engineer will ring. Late morning I ring again as the engineer has not called, the call handler calls him, she tells me it will be 'p.m.' but cannot say what time and that the engineer sys he may not have the part on his van, I reiterate that the previous engineer has located parts and this engineer needs to collect them. But will he ring, will he collect the parts?
My mum is badly disabled, a widow living alone and has relied on a stair lift for 32 years, she is in severe pain now and rapidly becoming very depressed.
I know it is Christmas and that complicates things but it seems if you have had one visit regardless of whether repaired or not you go back to the bottom of the list. I suspect the end result will be no repair and a new lift - in January, February? If my mum survives long enough to use it!

My mother has died. I' m contacting you as you're the reference address I have...

Shall I give you the post code

" That's no good to me..."

Then re directed ..

" Have you contacted Stafford..."
No . Yours is the only number I can see in the documents ..

So I ring and tell the local bloke whose job is to fix the spriggets
Not the head office who do the dockets.

Customer care....could do with some fine tuning.

This is a Review for the fantastic guy who took out my condemned stairlift and put in a Flow 2 for Bristol City Council Accessible Homes Dept. Justin condemned the old one and I had to sign a disclaimer against damage to me. Had no concern of how I was to get up and down to let me or my dog out. Two separate people came 2wks apart to measure as there is a small bend. But no one asked my measurements and the Flow 2 is a very narrow chair. Ray who installed ( by himself) and removed the old one ( by himself) was excellent. He cleaned up after himself and redeemed my views of the Company.
