I have to say, as a former employee (roughly 5 years ago) that there were issues with the quality of care given by the aids and staff on the Healthcare floors. However, I have not worked there in some time, so I am not aware of the quality of care currently being given on the Healthcare floors at this time - I hope, for the sake of the residents - that it has improved exponentially. I do have family that has lived at this continuum for many years, and as their level of care has increased, they have been able to transition into the various levels of care accordingly. They do often note that at times, the food delivered to their room has been cold. However, the current admin team does seem to be putting in more effort to enhance the quality of their services, which is encouraging. As long as their efforts are centered around the betterment of the residents and their quality of life, I would say the Wesleyan Village is on the up & up.
I worked at the Wesleyan village for 6 years. I began as a housekeeper, and worked my way to a s.t.na. I absolutely loved working here. It's a well organized, clean, and friendly environment. I made some of my life long friends here. The staff always came together and worked as a team, and management wasn't afraid to step in and help either. I moved to louisville 3 year's ago with my husband's job, but if it wasn't for that I would still be employed here. Great place for your loved ones, and even better place to work! Thanks Wesleyan village for giving me 6 great years of employment!
Hello Mona I just wanted to take the time to say Thank You from my dad Nelson Velez and myself. Everyone has been so great with him and myself, I cannot tell you enough how much you have all meant to us. Everyone that we have come across has either been super helpful or just simply very kind we appreciate all of you. The visit with my dad and his wife was amazing you all made the transition so smooth for them and for me. You see they hadn t seen each other for over two months since he had his stroke. Since my dad s stroke it has been a lot on my plate, but again you guys have really made it better for me and I thank you. Thank you all for all the support you have shown him and myself.
My dad wasn t happy he was coming here he wanted to be home, but all the staff from the Healthcare floor, Physical Therapy, Billing. Nursing, Maintenance and security ( I apologize if I forgot a department) have made it great for him he has made a second family here. I come to visit every day and he is always so happy and tells me who he talked to and how they made him laugh or got to know him for him not his stroke. I think he will be leaving soon but that wouldn t be happening if it wasn t for all of you.
I know things might not always be perfect but you guys sure have made it seem or as close as possible. Working here and at the daycare defiantly had its benefits but let me tell you I will defiantly be spreading the word about the village and its staff.
Thank you again feeling blessed, Nelson Velez & Isabelle Velez
I have been trying to get my parents refund due to them for over 2 months with no satisfaction. This is not their equity refund (which I have no idea when that check will arrive). This is a check for ~$1800. Totally disappointed in their lack of follow through on a promise to pay.
Not a good place at all. Very poor management company. High staff turn over, poor staff retention. Poor working environment leading to poor resident care. Very high debt, no money to put back into the place. Food is cold on the health care floors. Understaffed especially on the weekends.
I recently moved my mother to the memory care unit. The Lighthouse. It is beautiful and clean. My mother loves it there. The entire staff at Wesleyan is very friendly and helpful. I'm so happy we was able to get my mother into a caring and friendly environment. Thank you for all do for my mother.
Although I am a paid employee, I volunteer many hours above my current position because I truly love Wesleyan Village. During this very challenging time of the pandemic, our Team has banded together to form a real "family" to help care, support, and love our residents. We have kept them safe, healthy, and comfortable as they struggle with the isolation and lack of family interactions, due to CDC restrictions. We continue to be a faith-based organization and have the ability to care for a senior from Independent Living all the way to Nursing Home on one campus. We hope you would consider us when looking for care options for a senior in your life or for yourself. You would be happy here--with the comfort of knowing our Promise is to always have a home with us, even if you outlive your funds.
