Wesley International Academy Review

I am a first year parent with my daughter in kindergarten. I love this school! Wesley challenges the kids and keeps them engaged. They have many extra curriculum activities as well a learning programs for those that may need a little extra help with their learning experience. The Chinese program is superb and your child begins learning the language in kindergarten! The school focus is not only the academics, but the child as a whole. The administration staff is very thorough and organized. I am extremely pleased with Wesley International Academy. I can't wait for my son to start the 2016-2017 school year!

Wesley International Academy is a phenomenal school! My daughter is in the 5th grade, her second year at WIA. Being a high-achiever, she appreciates being challenged academically, something that she repeatedly expressed concerns about with her previous school. From day one, she has talked about how much she enjoys being at Wesley, because of the diverse student body as well as the family-oriented feeling of the school's environment. From my experiences through various school functions, the faculty and staff seem to do a wonderful job in influencing each student to hold high standards for both themselves and the school. As a parent who believes in the value of education, I certainly applaud the academic and social qualities that that my daughter is learning at WIA!

I am interested in knowing why am I getting a parking ticket for parking in the school lane on the weekend? I have lived in my building(next to the school) for 4 years and have always parked there only on the weekends when there are no other spaces around my building. The school visitors park in my neighborhood and take up all the spaces and I never have complained. You would think that we are in this community together. The cars dropping off kids are blowing the horn and waking up residents in the building next door. Is that neccessary? You could have at least warned our leasing office to let the residents know before you ticket cars on the weekend and the school is not even open.

God answered my prayers and got my son into a good school that truly cares about students. My son is in the 5th grade and loves going to school everyday! Compared to other schools, the kids here are kind and the teachers are on it. It's almost like a free private school. My son told me to write a review, because he "loves his school."

I would give this school a 5 star but something is not right about this school. My niece comes home everyday saying that she wants to kill herself! She said the bully's are very rude and disrespectful. We told the principle but he did nothing about it! We are very ashamed to represent this school!

My daughter transferred here from an APS middle school and lives this school! She loves mandarin, the teachers, and the curriculum (she feels that it s more challenging) She is a principals list student here because of the environment! Go Wesley!

Fifth year family with a first grader and a fourth grader. Staff and administration are like family, parent community is active and involved and my kids love it! Academically challenging, yet focused on the whole child and each child's needs.

This is my school honestly ive never went to a better school I love the fact that we take a language other than english

Baldomero whatever stop hating! Its a great school. Sure some kids bully other people but that doesn't mean that it's a bad school.

This is the WORST school to put your child in do not out your child in this school they will be manipulated and teachers will make up stuff about your children.Also teachers are horrible ms.jernigan,ms.street,ms.feng,Etc.The admin is even worse they dont care about your children at all they dont want them to exceed.Such as dr.Mason he is the worst principle EVER!!!!!

My daughter has been there for 2 years now and we couldn't be happier! Excellent teachers and ancillary staff! The mandarin program is exceptional and the students are challenged. We love the IB curriculum and feel that it contributes to our daughter being more culturally aware and sensitive as well as more well rounded. There is a good variety of after school program choices; our favorites have been yoga, pottery, tennis, hip hop dance, and cheerleading! Go Wesley!!!

I went to the school from 1st-5th grade and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, my teachers were great and the student were fun to be around.

Wesley is a great school has some challenges but still is a great school I give it a four and a half out of five because no one can get full stars

This school by itself is well above average, ms. Hammonds needs to be fired though. The school has received enough complaints anyways.

We are preparing to return to Wesley for our 5th year. We have a daughter who will enter fourth grade and a son who will enter first. I love sending my kids to this school every day, knowing that they are receiving an excellent education in a warm community, and all with an international perspective. I love that many of our parents are first or second generation in the United States. For our four years at the school, the school has had wonderful teachers, the city's best public school foreign language program, and a lovely parent community. The school now also has become a truly independent local charter with great leadership in our new principal and assistant principal.

the fitnessgram pacer test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. the 20 meter pacer test will start in 30 seconds. the running speed starts slowly but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal bodeboop. A single lap should be completed every time you hear this sound: ding. Remember to run in a straight line and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark. Get ready! Start.

My niece zakiah McFadden attends this school , at first she wasn't sure that she was going to like it , but now she LOVES going to school , it's nice that they take Mandarin Chinese , she never struggles with work , or making friends , the Wesley family welcomes each student and believes in them all THANKS WESLEY !!!!! You've gotten her a long way 1st - 8th

This is actually my old school, I go to the Ron Clark Academy. I d definitely say that Wesley prepared me for RCA. Wesley International Academy taught me responsibility as a student and allowed me to interact with kids from all over the world. This is truly an amazing school and I d definitely recommend it to any child.

It's a great school and all but the students there do not value education. All the do is dance and twerk and bully I recommend it but on the other hand I don't.

don't send your kid here I understand that you should not listen to a google review written by a former student but there is no good reason to send your kid here especially for middle school. Its a mess and the teachers have little to no experience and are usually fresh out of college. The chinese seems nice but there are only 2 good chinse teachers that your kid might not even be taught by also your kid has a high chance of being bullied and there will be no teacher intervention. please spare them DONT DO IT!!!!!!

Graduated class of 2019 it was a HORRIBLE experience. It was good from K-3 then got worse in middle school, bad admin, bad teachers. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!!!!!!!

This school is good it has great teachers. I have a cousin who goes there and she is very intelligent now. Thanks Wesley!

Let me tell the deal with this cool school called WIA... not gonna lie the first few years was pretty good. But then you went to middle school and it is horrible

I went to this school it was horrible. Grade 2-8. The worst experience of my life PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS THERE. I once got in trouble for something I didn t do and they didn t believe me. Field day is horrible, lunch is horrible and rotten. The school supplies are terrible, fights every day. Constantly running out of supplies such as soap and toilet paper. Toxic environment. Administration is not welcoming and is very toxic. Tech issues, terrible WiFi. The sports teams are the only decent things.

I'm a student of Wesley it is a good school they are good with IEP students .

I am a 8 year parent at Wesley. My older son attended from the first day it opened he will attend his first year of college this fall. I love Wesley. My younger son has attended Wesley since Kindergarten and this year he is in the 7th grade. I have seen leadership changes, some I agree with and some I don't but this by far is a great school. I enjoyed the family oriented feeling we experience at Wesley. There are improvements that can be made but overall our school is exceptional.

yea its an ok school but some students are nice and some are mean but dont let that get you down just go and you will have fun.
