A regular haunt for Newtown types, hipsters, uni students, socialists, tradies, families, unpretentious cats and other sorts. I love Friday or Saturday summer nights at Wenty!

What a great night out. Not crowded, plenty of room for kids to muck around. IMO the best chicken parm in Sydney is had at the bistro here. Staff are friendly and drinks are genuine 1990s prices. If you cant have fun here, you don't have a pulse.

I used to live across the street from this park and I loved it! Great HUGE park. Used to take my powerwalks or jogs around or across the park. The park also has an outdoor gym which is great and you see people working out by themselfs or in groups 24/7!! =)

I never missed the wentworth park antique fair on the first sunday of each month.
Without doubt Sydney's premier antique collectors experience. (No furniture).
2/3 hours of endless choice ...if you look hard and you know your area, bargains can be found.

Wentworth Park is an historic sporting venue and has a lot of history associated to Rugby League as hosting the first professional games of the sport and also being the home ground of Glebe from 1908 to 1929. I have watched Greyhound Racing here in the past and it's always been good. The facilities are a little bit old but not so old that they need a renovation.

I came back here yesterday for The Glebe vs Blacktown and Newtown V Blacktown Rugby League games and I really enjoyed the experience. It was the first time in 90 years a game had been played here and it was an historic day. Hopefully they play more games like this in the future.

Has a monthly antiques market. Range of the usual with some special pieces. The infrastructure is not maintained and somewhat gloomy. Cheer of the people - dealers and clients - make up for that.

Greyhound racing first appeared on Wentworth Parkland in 1932. Interest in the sport grew over several years with the NSW National Coursing Association (NCA) forming an official lease agreement with the Wentworth Park Trust in 1939.

By the 1970's large crowds attended race meetings which could not be adequately accommodated by the stadium's facilities at that time. The NCA undertook the construction of a large grandstand to accommodate what they envisaged would be the continued expansion of patronage. The decision was to be the catalyst for significant change and the start of a new direction for Wentworth Park.

In the mid-1980's the NSW Greyhound Breeders Owners & Trainers Association (NSW GBOTA), who at that time were racing at nearby Harold Park, were moved by the Government into Wentworth Park to share the Complex and running costs. This was in line with the explosion in TAB shops, betting in pubs and moves by other sports organizations to showcase games on Friday and Saturday nights that all resulted in falling attendance numbers.

This is a great local park, there is a small workout area w/ pullup bars, and the lot. Playground for the minions to play on, and plenty of grassy green areas to lounge around and enjoy the day.

Went here for a company event. The place looks old, is noticeable that dog racing is not very popular, place was almost empty. I had wedgies, it was not good at all. Probably well never come back again

Great, underrated grounds for the dog races. It's a shame not many people come here anymore. Great place to socialise, have a few drinks, eat, watch the races and maybe throw in a few bets.

Have not been there in 10 years. Easter egg 10 years ago was brilliant.jumping castles,High speed dogs freaked out the kids and sand in their faces added to the experience. They are now University students who are shocked by the few who abuse dogs.
Racing dogs is what Greyhound means. That only makes sense to me!
Wentworth Park will be sold .
He will allow the greyhound racing industry to continue but out side of the Capital city.

The Penthouse will get lovely views.

All the people, so many people come here to get some exercise. And not just the joggers who go round and round... the public gym equipment is busy at all hours, and the playing fields are usually busy with girls and boys.

Round out your park-life experience with a visit to the greyhound track in the middle of the park. Those dogs run so fast they go past in a Blur.
