They offer additional holiday payouts to give driv...

They offer additional holiday payouts to give drivers incentive to run during peak holiday season. Then when it comes close to the time of pay out, they intentionally schedule a load with an impossible delivery date so that when you are forced to reschedule, they use that as a reason take away your holiday payout (even though they only specify 2 requirements: to run the full holiday period without refusing any load). This is a VERY sneaky and dishonest company. They are always looking to make an extra buck at the expense of their drivers. Don t let their nice recruiting staff fool you. The Vice President of this company is making decisions that impact drivers but he has never even had a CDL license! They will run a driver to the point of exhaustion then act like you are a POS when you ask to be treated fairly. They refuse to maintain their trucks within DOT safety standards, leaving their drivers susceptible to delays and penalties which they refuse any compensation for. When they decide they ve had enough of you speaking up for yourself, they will let you sit for days without a load. They will lie to you about having no available loads in your current area so that they can route you back to a terminal. Then they finally tell you that you re fired once they have their truck back. Then, when it s time for you to get home they MIGHT give you a bus ticket, but leave you without any compensation for the luggage fees. If you want to run yourself ragged and then have your money taken from you then be fired when you finally speak up for yourself, then this is the place for you! Otherwise you may want to completely STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Well allow me to tell you what happened when my lease was terminated
I had 800 dollars of my own money places in an extra escrow . They tried to keep it ! Then they offered me 160 bucks then turned and took it out of my last paycheck.
Here is the list as follows
Drive cam deposits 495.00
Peoplenet deposit. 1500
Ez pass toll account 1100 dollars or more . They doctor the actual amounts.
Maintenance account was around 500 or so
Plus last paycheck of an undetermined amount cause before I was out the door I was locked out of the company app where I could see what my last check was. And a few of the L/P drivers are good friends who got screwed over good also. Yeah they are just like family .. They are great till they are done with you and then you get it raw.
I now drive a 2019 Pete 589 with all the bells and whistles and a custom sleeper for the same price I was paying for a half workout KW 680 and making twice the money .
Oh and about my 800.00 they tried to keep.. I had to go all the way up to the owner's son to get my money . And I will always be thankful to him for that .. the rest of them are nothing but liars and crooks .
STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!

I see all of the negative comments. Just maybe if drivers were positive and did their job[ be on time for pickup and delivery, trip plan and stay safe] you wouldn't have these issues. Be honest with Wel. I don't have these issues. Great company. I left and came back twice. Also to be a truck driver you have to run. You cant be going home all the time and expect to make great money. Trucking ain't for the weak. Understand that its not going to be easy and smooth sailing all the time. Don't refuse loads. Respect operation employees and get respect back.If you try it my way you may not have as many issues.

Home Terminal, Like all trucking companies, you have your likes and dislikes. I've been doing my homework sort of speak, and I like what I see. I think it depends on what you're looking for in a company. WEL seems to have what I'm looking for.

WEL, the only reason I m giving them one star, is so I can make a comment! I was looking forward to going to this company, and doing their lease program, but after reading some of the reviews, I think, that maybe I should hold off! Maybe do a little more research!

Awesome company to work for, some companies say they are family oriented but WEL goes above and beyond they prove it over and over. We have been with them for 5 and a half years and have no plans to go anywhere else. We just moved into a 2019 peterbilt just before Christmas. Thank you WEL for the last 5 years and we are looking forward to the next 5 years.

The company I worked for used wel 2 to 3 times a week to bring ingredients from atlanta. They were always on time and product was never damaged like some other companies we had used in the past. First rate customer service. You call they respond. Thank you for making my job easier.

Friendly people but they don t care about their trucks. Don t do lease purchase unless you have deep pockets because your truck will be sitting there all the time. We couldn t even do one run before an issue came up on the truck. They won t switch trucks either, so once you re stuck with one good luck. Didn t see a paycheck in 4-5 weeks because truck was in the shop at least once a week. They say it s under warranty but it s really not so it would be coming out of your pocket. I wouldn t recommend Wel unless you can buy your truck outright or go company. You won t make money as Lease Purchase at Wel. The dispatchers are also difficult to work with as well so be ready to argue and fight with them.

Ok so ignore all the cry babies putting up 1 star. Tell them I sent you. I am 4 years into my career and have worked at some interesting places. I can truly say thank god I found this place. You make what you want. Want to make 1500 a week company. Cool welcome to WEL COMPANIES. They are the first company to treat me like a person not just a truck number. See when I got hired on they didn't even tell me about the extras. You will figure it out when you get here. Solid company, good people, willing to work with you, and help you further your career. Throw good money on that and I dont see what else you could ask for. It's just been a long time since I worked for people that want to help you succeed and I am happy to be apart of this family. That's what this place is a family. So smile if you were blessed to find this place. It's the last trucking company you need.

Its ok, the company could be better, especially if they wasn't so anal about a speed Guage. I just think its stupid! 10mph over the speed limit twice in a week they'll shut you down. I think they invest in the wrong area. You can be doing 5 over & youll get a call from dispatch & lecture. I just feel we all adults the company don't need to treat us like babysitters. But other then that its a o.k company

I loved working at WEL until I went on to a better...

I loved working at WEL until I went on to a better opportunity. When I left there was a lot of vindictive behavior from Roberta. She did not want to pay me after I had given her two weeks notice. The last day I was there they acted very shady. I had to go to Bruce to get my pay. Chris the vice president told me I could come back whenever I wanted. Then the company that hired me told me that it was put on my job verification that I was not eligible for rehire. I wasn t fired and I gave proper notice. I drove the truck from Pennsylvania and did runs taking it back to Wisconsin to avoid any fees. I had my daughter with me and I was supposed to work on that Friday locally. I was a dedicated driver for the Northeast. I was called early in the morning on Friday and told that I had to get out of the truck. I wasn t supposed to leave for my flight until Saturday. My daughter and I quickly got ready and got all of our things out of the truck. Then my dispatcher called me to tell me that they didn t have any work for me to do that day. So I asked if that would affect my dedicated pay. I was told yes. I spoke to Bruce and he had Roberta come in and talk to me. As soon as he left the room and I told Roberta what I had told Bruce, she began to yell at me. Jumped up and stormed out of the room. She also turned off the light while I was still sitting in there. Then they did not pay me the following week as promised after I spoke to Bruce. So I had to call payroll and they had to get Roberta to authorize it. The only reason why she did is because I recorded the conversation. I loved my dispatcher and I thought that Bruce and Chris were good men. I thought Roberta in operations was nice but I was wrong. Earlier in the spring I had a incident where my shoulder was hurt and I had to deal with Gloria in safety. I was told by numerous drivers in the company never to have dealings with her. But if I was ever hurt not to tell her. She always would say that we are family and to tell her if anything happened. I told her what happened and at first she was fake nice. Then later she yelled at me because I was told by numerous drivers in the company never to have dealings with her. But if I was ever hurt not to tell her. She always would say that we are family and to tell her if anything happened. I told her what happened and at first she was fake nice. Then later she Screamed at me over the phone and her reason was because she was having a bad day due to another driver. When that happened I began looking for another job. I came across a great opportunity working for FedEx custom critical. I don t regret my decision one day. I work for an excellent company who genuinely cares. The people at Wells seem nice at first, but they are all very two-faced. There are a few good ones. The front desk, the people that work in Allentown, the guys in the Allentown shop, my dispatch Laurel And that s about it. Good luck to anyone who decides works there. Hopefully your experience will be much better than mine.

If your wanting to lease and live in the north east mid west area its not a bad company i only left because of the major slack they have for southern states the rates are really terrible and i just couldn't see my self paying off a lease truck in that situation,in a company truck you can do very well and the reason why I didn't stay company is because i found a motor carrier that was more suitable for my situation/home time and they could accommodate me better and im not saying that wel couldn't have but it was just my choice to leave!craig waters my recruiter was up front from beginning and didn't lie about any thing and that was a first for me and tgsts they have a 4 star from me

The only good thing I experienced here was the yar...

The only good thing I experienced here was the yard training with DANNY TANKERSLEY and MARVIN. Once in the truck driving that open door closed excuses of COVID. And a truck that I was told the tri pak A/C was fixed in. But when I actually had to use it in 100 degree + weather worked for maybe an hour. Then waking up because you can't breathe. Super nice looking out for your drivers when it was brought in to the shop to be fixed, prior. I was told it was fixed. I would recommend going to SWIFT instead, just saying at least you know their rep. Needless to say I was very unhappy and expressed it, not that anyone at the company cared that their negligence could of been deathly. And once I got back to the terminal I took my stuff and left email a resignation letter in. Did not put the truck into the shop as they asked. Not my job if you dont care about my life I could careless about your company. So should you get truck # 61086 I would make sure your not going out in a death trap before hand. Run the a/c on your tri pak for at least ten hours to see if they fixed it and their is also some inverter draining the batteries. It could be the one you use to plug anything you bring with into or one of the ones in the front dash where you plug devices into, possibly all of them. Just a warning be safe and check everything do your pti and then some. I pretriped that truck twice everyday sometimes more just because I didn't trust it. I have never in my life ever worked for any company this terrible ever.)

UPDATE BELOW!

UPDATE BELOW!
Selfish company that doesn't care much about their drivers. Especially if you're an independent contractor. They won't show invoices to a driver. They won't give you any idea of what they will do if one of THEIR trucks breaks down. See, you make the payments and pay for fuel and all mechanical work but it's their truck and it's up to them on where it gets fixed, what gets fixed and you don't have a choice on estimates. They prey on truckers that are new to leasing and dumb. They are too concerned about their reputation more than they are helping a driver get ahead.
My truck has been in the shop over 6 times for the same issue. Just got it back from Cummins, can't see the invoice and.... It's still smoking. You know... Just put up with it and we will get you in somewhere. Lose money while you sit type of thing.
Run. Run away from this company.

Quit on January 12th or 2018. Should have gotten paid on the 13th. They kept it. Final paycheck was should have been on the 20th of January, 2018, they kept it too. They have charged phenomenal fees, to my cousin and friends, when they quit In excess of $15,000 and placed into collections. Bottom line, this company is not good to work for. You are not allowed to see your bills of what you ran and you're not allowed to get estimates of repair or invoices. They can basically, make up any number and say you owe them. So far, my cousin and I have seen their bad math on several invoices and they have hit him with charges on numerous occasions. They will rob you. Let me repeat, they will rob you when you leave.
According to their contract, you must return the truck to De Pere, Wisconsin or you can be charged for recovering the truck. Even if you drop it off on their own yard (they have a total of 5). Think about that. You can be charged to leave the truck in a location that they own if it is closer to your house. You return it to De Pere, you're responsible to get home, wherever that maybe. Good luck if you choose this company.

Would drive for WEL again if I was going to go back OTR, the people here know you by name, I spoke face to face with the owner multiple times from the first day I had my truck. APU on every truck and regular maintenance schedule for the equipment (inbound empty trailers go through the shop every time they get to the yard).

Only reason I left is so I could do local.
