I entered the Weingart 10th floor for Women10yrs ago with a job Ive had at that time for 6yrs. I WAS BROKEN Emotionally & Spiritually & LOST, ANGRY at the UNIVERSE & veryone in it.
At times it does resemble a 3rd world country & (if you've seen the movie) New Jack City at night.
My focus was ME..& not becoming due to any fault of mine....again-re-homeless
It was REALLY tough at 1st the trust facter but I followed the rules. I learned self acceptance LOVE & trust.
Graduated from the program 1 yr later.
Got my permanent housing at the YANKEE a month before my graduation.
Still there today.

I used to work and it was a displeasure. While I enjoyed working with the homeless population I did not enjoy working with the management who seemed to always berate for things that gone wrong on their end. I felt my job was on the line considering the threat of losing my job over miscommunications. I was sent to a downtown office to train for a new system in place and apparently because the trainer was from a different area she couldn't train us. Then I got a message from my manager asking her why I didn't communicate with her even though I had tried to get a hold of her but was not available. Then she told me I should have called the front desk but it was unresponsive. The manager would try to fault me even though other employees were doing worse things like sleeping with the participants in the building. I quit because I had no choose. Weingart does not care about the well being of their employees or the participants and tries to create conflict among employees

I was in need of a safe place to sleep in downtown Los Angeles money was very tight and sleeping on the street was Not an option so I was greatful for a place like the Weingart Center, the staff and affordability made my situation much more bearable. (However this is Not "5 star" accommodations)

If you go to the access center, do not talk to Donna. She is rude for no reason at all. I called before I went an a man told me what qualifies. She asked me what I wanted and I politely inquired about CES. She immediately told me that I didn t qualify without even asking me anything. She just assumed. Her reasons for me not qualifying also did not match what I was told on the phone. She assumed that I was coming from jail as well. I have no record at all. I ve never been arrested in life. She literally just looked at me and said these things. I called the number again while in the waiting room and spoke to the gentleman and he told me the same as before with details on how I qualify. He then called the office to let them know the issue and she made a snide remark about how someone else is going to talk to me and tell me the same thing she said. After that she s became loud, slammed the door and yelled at another client in the office.

12. Smells like feces constantly.
13. Elevator breaks down all the time and people are stuck in the elevator for hours.
14. Staff obviously doesn't care about their jobs because if they did they would not treat people this way. The pictures below are the food that I was served and I got really really sick with diarrhea and with no toilet paper it made things unbelievable. This place is hell on earth.

If? You, can close your brain enough to the daily activity around you, then you will use the room, you are given. To start a reinvention, of yourself and with some degree of accomplishment. Tread lightly and mind your business.

What a ridiculous facility- it was my first time ever going there so I was lost and when you are lost; you ask for directions. Even though I showed my papers as to why I was sent there; the security had a problem and was talking to me with an attitude. Are this the manners that the ridiculous weingart center teaches its employees? I have heard horrible stories from the public about this ridiculous place which most likely are true. What is worst, how can the government endorse this ridiculous place.
