Went for an all day one on one climbing day. I wanted to learn how to sport climb outside (set quickdraws and clean anchors) we started the day off by going over top rope anchors and top roping the routes we would later sport climb.

After that we mocked sport climb for a while till I was comfortable with clipping in and cleaning anchors. The later part of the day I was able to lead some routes and gain confidence in sport climbing outdoors!

Daniel was a great instructor and helped me gain confidence and the skills needed to sport climb outside.

After 4 guided backcountry ski tours, including avalanche training, I need to shout out how impressed I am with @wsuoutdoorprogram. All of my experiences have been awesome, the people have been great to meet our particular objectives with customized plans, the equipment rentals have been well priced and high quality, and everything has been top notch. We are very lucky that WSU and director Daniel Turner have developed a great program accessible to the public, not just WSU students and faculty.

I was really hoping to have a great experience with this place being a student here. I spent 37:27 minutes in the phone with these guys and as we are processing my payment after signing up all the sudden the equipment I had reserved is now already rented out. When I started the call they had 4 kayaks left, and when I reserved 2 I was told they were the last ones. Come to find out, apparently all the sudden they actually don t have them. And in the back I hear did you just rent those out?!? The excuse I got was it takes 20 minutes for the system to update but considering I had been on the phone for almost double that amount of time that shouldn t have mattered. Really disappointed. considering 10 minutes prior they said the had multiple other things I could rent which also all the sudden disappeared, with absolutely no offer of any consultation or price reduction. First and last experience.

Update: got a call back saying they actually did have it and was able to reserve them. So I appreciate the call back but considering it was a huge hassle and no discount was offered for this I m only gonna bump up my review to 3 stars.

Incredible incompetency.

Incredible incompetency.

First time I attempted a rental I called 20 min before I came and asked do you have crash pads to rent? They said yes. I went in and the guy looks around and realizes that they in fact DONT have any to rent.

Second time I called to reserve them and I was told I needed to return them the same day I rented. This makes no sense because I was picking them up to climb after work, and planned to bring them the next morning. They then offered me an extension so I could do so. I asked if it was free, and they said yes. That was confusing. Then she asked do you mind if I put the extension on the same card? Then I was really confused.. I think I only got charged once..

The next morning when I went to return them I had to wait 30 min because they were busy putting a paddle board in someone s truck. Then I had to go get them. They proceeded to dig through endless paperwork, and failed to find my paperwork. They made a note that I returned them, but I m sure this isn t the end of that..

Moral of the story: I m buying my own pad.

I rented a paddle board this weekend for bear lake and was charged $10 for an extra life jacket without being told it would be more. I would not have chosen to get another life jacket if I knew it would be $10 extra. Not only did I pay for it, but I was unable to even use the life jacket because they gave me an extra small when I asked for a medium. Other than that though the paddle board itself was great and everyone else was helpful.

Dawn Patrol is worth the early wake up call! Nowhere else can you get a professional guide to take you into the mountains, introduce new terrain, provide an avalanche awareness lesson, and find 12" of untracked Pow for the monster fee of $0!

Our daughter chose snow skiing in Utah for her senior trip, first for us. My brother recommended Weber University for the ski rentals and they did a phenomenal job.
This is going to sound odd, but I do not remember the young ladies name. However, the young lady with dyed black and blonde hair did a fantastic job outfitting three novices. We rented downhill equipment and then came back for cross country equipment. She gave us information and directions to a ski resort that was perfect for beginners.
Highly recommended

Good prices, great staff and an adorable dog. I had a great experience with them. Just a word of advice, don't get an inflatable kayak on a windy day and try to have fun at Cosy haha, that was miserable.

I have a done multiple custom backcountry ski outings with the WSU Outdoor Program. Everything from avalanche education to guided backcountry ski tours. All of them have been extremely well done. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. They carry the highest level of certifications available and have my full trust. You can't go wrong. And their services are open to the general public, not limited to students.

As a non-student, my interaction with them is always very positive. Staff is easy to deal with and seem to go the extra mile. Prices are good and equipment is nice. Thank you for making my families outdoor adventures a little more enjoyable.

This place is extremely helpful for your outdoor-equipment-rental needs, as soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted and helped by one of the knowledgeable reps. They will explain paperwork thoroughly and fluidly and even help you strap your equipment on or in your vehicle. I will definitely be coming back.
