We only stopped in with the permission of a professor there to print out a parking pass so we could park at the Cobo Center, everyone was very nice and understanding to us, and the community there is very diverse. I wish I got to stay longer to learn more about it.

WCCCD is one of the finest educational colleges in the country. They offer certification as well as degreed programs. I have taken classes here during my undergraduate years and now post graduate for classes that I can afford to take for enjoyment. My youngest daughter to classes here to fulfill some post baccalaureate requirements for grad school. The staff is great and the instructors well qualified.

The one star is for the professors, they are hard working people and work with their students.
The school is the worst college you will attend here's why.

1- Financial aid takes forever to process, every semester I had to go the school verification center and they email me you were randomly selected. Ok, I was not born yesterday.

2- the staff are so unprofessional and rude that works in the administration office and financial aid in the downtown and western campus.

3- they will never assist you with your classes selecting when speaking with an advisor.

4- I have never felt welcomed, why because they are so unorganized, they will make you feel like they are the one paying for your classes not you and treat you like garbage .

5- The Vice- president Richard, downtown campus is one of the most unprofessional and rude person I have met. I want to talk to this guy , telling him my situation with Financial aid, he advice me not to go to college. As I was on his office and campus this guy began to scream in my face for coming in to him for help. He literally told me, why did I come to his office he can't do nothing for me. I asked him what's your role as a vice president he said non your business.

You know what you a terrible business man and Vice President I can't wait to transfer.

Takes 3 weeks after the financial aid due date to disbursement of funds they sit on the funds for weeks without a answer. I attended WCCCD obtaining an Associates Degree and Certificate. I really enjoyed my classes, I liked that they have different times (morning or evening) for classes as well as online classes. Being a working single mother this was incredibly helpful and convenient. It is a great school at a great cost. I have attended many events at different locations, as well, and I enjoyed them all. I recommend WCCCD to family and friends often.

Graduated in 2011, it isn't the best place, but for someone who came from a poor public school education they help you learn the basics. Don't let there advisors advise you...you will be there forever, look up the program you want and take those classes that are listed. Stay focused, Get in and get out!!!!

Forced me to take accelerated courses because they cancelled one of my classes THE DAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BEGIN. Holds student refunds for way too long. Its the middle of the semester and refunds are just now getting out. Registered and enrolled for 13 Credit hours yet im only getting half of my pell Grant because the other accelerated course doesnt begin until the middle of October. No one ever can give you a straight answer to your question and will have you on hold for 40 minutes before someone answer the phone. Very lazy staff. I definitely do not recommend this college save your time and money. I've had problems with this since July while trying to register for the Fall semester. I've should've took that as a sign to choose another school. Overpriced books to get you to spend all of your loan money in the bookstore.

Suck

Th WORST school ever don't waste your time no one who works here knows what they talking about espically in the financial aid office they tell you wrong thing then do another call again and it something else also call their office sometimes and you will get a wired message this is the WORST SCHOOL EVER this feels like the Detroit public school system for a college I can not wait to transfer WORST place ever.

Worst place you can ever experience. Most of the stuff are not professional and good. They don't even have a degree for the job. Lazy people just work for money and they get the money from government and us but don't wanna work for us.

I give WCCCD one star because I took classes here to transfer back up to Northern Michigan University, where I received my AAS in biology. I had 3 good professor and one professor who had no control over his class, and for a person who has been diagnosed with ADD that's not a good thing. I had to withdraw from here because financial aid would not give me my overage check so I can pay for my textbooks, and we had an exam in both classes the following week, they tried to penalize me by saying I owe them $595.00 when I actually owe them $72.00 because as long as I have been in school and received overage checks you cannot add a positive to a negative balance and get a large amount. Yet the staff were very rude and talked to me as if they were bill collectors well the jokes on them.

I do not like the people who work there! Very unorganized staff who don't know what they're talking about and treat the students like their idiots! I've applied for Financial Aid five time, I've also turned in all of the paperwork they asked for. That was January now that it is May and I STILL haven't gotten my financial Aid!!!! So I went to school with no books because I couldn't afford them, so word of advice, if you want to go to this school ONLY because it's closer, go ahead but please take these reviews seriously. I have called non stop and been to the financial aid office WAY TO MANY TIMES and I still got NOTHING! Nobody will help you and they all prefer to take their breaks at the same time when there's a lot of students. If you are applying for financial aid for this school trust no one! make copies off ALL of your documents and take screenshots of the requirements so they don't treat you nasty!

*UPDATE* I just got my check

Just plain ghetto...Student services is the worst...you can call four times to ask the same question and will get four different answers. If you have to see an advisor, you better get there as SOON as they open, otherwise, forget it. Can't even use the computers in my class because the school "replaced" the ones we had and they won't re-install the software we need. smh...foolery.

In the past two months, I've attended several of the global speaker series held at the downtown campus. Judge Damon Keith and Tim Wise gave outstanding presentations and I truly enjoyed each program thoroughly. There is so much going on at WCCCD and I really look forward to the next program they offer.

Cannot communicate very well with the students on your financial aid at any point never told me I'll be paying out of pocket very disturbing do not care about students at all be cautious.

The administrators and office employees of this co...

The administrators and office employees of this college should be fired (By the way, this will be a long review...Yes! This so-called college is THAT horrible.). Even though this school has six campuses and prides itself on being accessible, it is not accessible. If you are planning on attending one campus of this school because it is near your home, then you are going to have a bad time. Recently, I went to register for a fall 2017 CIS class at one of WC3's campuses. I go to this campus (not the downtown campus) because it is close to my home. This is the only WC3 campus I have ever attended classes at. The advisor told me WC3 is not offering any CIS classes at this campus for fall 2017. I was told CIS classes are offered at this campus once a year. If you are relying on someone else for transportation or don't want to burn gas, then WC3 is not the college for you. That's not all. The office employees who work for this college (If you would call it that.) do not return phone calls (I know, right? That is unprofessional.). If a professor does something unethical, then don't count on WC3's administration to have your back. In a class I attended, I was not understanding the material. When I told my professor I wasn't understanding the material, the professor didn't want to help me. When I went to the LRC tutor at my campus for help, instead of the tutor helping me, the tutor was using their smartphone. When I told my campus' dean about the tutor, the defended the tutor (Oh, and did I mention that the dean didn't investigate the matter?). Also, the dean yelled at me. I am disabled. I have Autism. I should've been helped. The people at this school give out incorrect information over the phone. If you talk to one employee, they will tell you one thing and if you talk to another employee, then they will tell you something extremely different. As for buying textbooks at this so-called college, I know what you are thinking: "Each WC3 campus has an on-campus bookstore. Buying textbooks at WC3 should be easy." Actually, buying textbooks at WC3 is complicated. You see, I took a class at WC3 one time. At the start of the semester, my professor told me and my classmates some bad news: The textbook for our class was not at the on-campus bookstore. We were told the college ordered the wrong textbook. I had to buy my textbook from an online retailer (In other words, if you are a financial aid student, then prepare to pay out of pocket for your textbooks.). At the WC3 campus I currently go to, the classroom for CIS classes is the only classroom with a projector screen. At the campus I go to, the other classrooms don't have projector screens. Want to talk to a WC3 staff member at a WC3 campus? Prepare to wait a couple of hours to talk to them. Worst case scenario is waiting a couple of hours to talk to a staff member and then being told they are in a meeting (That happened to me.). The academic advisors at WC3 are horrible. They will sign you up for classes you don't need to take. If you are planning on going to a community college, then don't go to this one. Go to Macomb Community College. MCC is a good school. If you are planning on going into an IT (Information Technology) or Computer Programming career, then go to Oakland Community College. OCC has a good Information Technology/Computer Programming program. WC3 doesn't give their Computer Information Systems program a lot of attention (Matter of fact, they haven't updated their CIS program. CIS should be Comp Sci.). The staff members at WC3 don't care about the students being educated. The staff members at WC3 only care about being paid. The staff members at this college have a "Why should I care?" attitude. The professors here are good but the office employees and administrators are horrible. Go elsewhere. The staff members and office employees here are roadblocks. They prevent you from getting your education. I really wanted to give this college zero stars. All of the staff members and office employees at this so-called college should be fired. New people should be brought in.

There professor's are very unprofessional and I've come across a few that comes once a week when they teach twice a week and end up giving you a bad grade when your there and they aren't, then I was the only female in my class after all the other ladies left I always had higher scores than the men in my class and my Professor Comm. Donafay Collins gave me a D when I passed both test and had 87 on the majority of my work, all because he truly couldn't except that one day that he chose to go over our work before finals my daughter was hit by a car and it was on my birthday so he assumed i missed it for that, but I really was with my child he failed me. Unbelievable

Coming from a University, you can definitely see the difference between the two. Very unprofessional! Professors are great, but when it comes to financial aid the staff are horrible! Everyone gives you the runaround and to be honest, it seems as if their calls are not recorded based off of the way they talk to you. Every single person I have talked to has given me false information, rushed me off the phone, or just told me what I wanted to hear... I may not be returning, I can t deal with it.

Take my advice GO TO ANOTHER SCHOOL.

Take my advice GO TO ANOTHER SCHOOL.
This staff, particularly the northwest staff, are the laziest people I've ever met. LAZY! I went in the financial aid office, they just lay on their desk and look at you. They are so rude. This school doesn't care if you graduate or not, they just want the money. There are better options out there. I wouldn't recommend this school to my worst enemy. Go to Schoolcraft, they care about their students, your education, and help with a smiling face. This school is disgusting.

This is the WORST SCHOOL EVER it s so disorganized the financial aid office lies to you constantly we ve been in school for two months now still haven t got our pell grant some of my classmates financial aid is mess up because the financial aid office did not process it right I can t wait to get out of this place next semester Im transferring I can t go to school in a disorganized college like this no other school plays with people money like they do please don t go here you will b sorry this school SUCKS pay attention to all the reviews on here we all say the same thing about this school it s no joke we all are telling the truth

This college is great. Professors are very knowledgeable about the classes that they teach. The college staff are always helpful and friendly. There is not only a police station on campus, but the police are active, sharp, and work hard to make sure the students feel safe, but not over watched like children. Almost all college credits transfer as well, which makes it worth the money spent on classes.

I regret coming or even attending WCCCD in the late-summer of 2005 when I should've gone to art school instead. Some teachers/professors are professional, but some well...I won't get into it. Not to mention that they've denied my Financial Aid but the WCCCD district had failed to realize I wasn't on the goddamn Financial Aid! Some staff and security are pretty rude to me thinking I'm a retard who shouldn't be at WCCCD at all. I'm just gonna push my luck and hope for the best because if that doesn't work well, I'll might as well leave the district permanently.

Horribly rude staff, and extremely unproffesional. I have even had to request a grade change because I was given the wrong grade before!! They didnt input my grade in the computer system before which delayed my graduation!! The problem was correcte for an entire year!!! Do not attend ANY of the Detroit locations!

The downtown campus care less about their students. They do the least to help us and have unqualified people working there. They are more concerned with money. You know it's bad when even a professor tells you this.

I don't have any experience but I am looking to attend this JC while my husband is attending Wayne State University. I'm a bit nervous about the reviews and do not know what to say or ask. However, majority it seems like, don't agree this is a good school.... Any other tips?

Staff is rude and have attitudes like you are bothering them. I had one class that they couldn't find a instructor for for 2 weeks and when the class had changed they told students by "word of mouth" so there was no official annoucement or emails on where the classes I paid for were being held. When I tried to ask at the office the lady told me to wait in an empty classroom longer when I had already waited for 10 past the starting time for no one to show up then she fanned me off with an attitude and hid beind the office desk with the doors locked. The school in unprofessional and hire staff that is only there to get a paycheck and nothing else. When a classmate reconized me and told me where the new classes were being held the Instructor told me that it was my fault if I didnt know where the classes were being held and that she wasn't going to re do assignments. I didn't bother even finish out my semester here. The downtown campus is ran very poorly and will create nothing but failures. One star is generous. Don't waste your time here.

I attended the event at WCCCD on August 2, 2018. This event was for Low Income people. My understanding was the people that attended that specific event were guaranteed to have ALL classes, Fees and Books automatically paid for! My class didn't start until September 6, 2018. I would have attended the Eastern campus. I have been calling Ms. Hughes, Ms. Davis as well as Kellem Friday September 7, 2018. I left messages, I was told I promise someone will call you back. I called every day of the week. I call through Monday September 17. 2018. I spoke with Mr. Kellem, he told me the vouchers for books were closed!!! CLOSED, this is totally unacceptable!!!! However I was told I can either purchase the book for $69, go to the Library get the book and copy the pages for free!!
At this point I'm just shaking my head.

This is absolutely the worst school ever, they ,do not care about their students and they do nothing to go abovd and beyond for you. Honestly this school deserves no stars. They're very ghetto and uprofessional there is no actual financial aid office nor does their website have posted business hours or a reasonable method to contact certain departments. This is by far the worst educational institution I have ever come across this school is a disgrace to the community if you are looking for a college to attend think first do not just choose WCCCD make this school your last resort or if anything else don't go at all !

I don t recommend anyone to go to wcccd. Their financial aid worse. They take too long to process financial aid where other community college take less than 2 weeks. If you call them, they will say 4-6 weeks and that worse.

The majority of the staff and teachers treat and talk to the students like they're children. We are all grown there! There is such much attitude going around you just have to snap your fingers and keep on going if you want your degree. The students that are on grants are talked to like they're begging and it seems as if some of the instructors are anxious to see a student fail. It 's more attuned to a inside power struggle than helping someone attain knowledge so that they will be equipped to go out and compete in the working world. The teachers and the class time is a joke. I should have taken online classes to alleviate the human hassle while trying to finish my education

This Collegiate Institution of Higher Learning I've found to be an illustrious place to begin a college Career upon graduating from High School and/or desiring to be trained in a professional trade.
The Staff, the Leadership at the helm and the Faculty for the most part is readily excited and eager to have our matriculating students and community to join the family at Wayne County Community College because what I know of the "Chancellor" the Lucida of the College is critically inthrawed about OPENING WAYNE COUNTY COMMUNITY to come and visit our six campuses and see how important this College truly is to them and us.
Please visit and let us know what you think.

Started at WCCCD in spring 2018 really like campuses and the instructors. Weekend and online classes make it convenient, since I work during the week. Took Dr. Daniels for eng 119 and eng 120 he is a great instructor. Also liked Jacqueline Johnston and Balicki for CIS classes. Would recommend to take classes at WCCCD, helpful staff and affordable tuition.
