I stumbled across Wayfare Tavern a few years ago when I just moved to San Francisco and was looking for a place to enjoy dinner with a friend. I have been back for brunch and on this most recent visit I was there for dinner with friends. I made a reservation and we were seated upstairs and it when I didn't think the place could be any cuter it was upstairs. Our server was amazing and she offered some great recommendations for food and drinks. The popper pastries they serve are AMAZING! We tried the Delores Cocktail which was so yummy. For our meal we started with Burrata Toast then we had Fried Chicken, the Wayfare Burger, Mac n Cheese, and the Burrata Whipped Potatoes. We did not have room for dessert but the table next to us was raving about the donuts. If you want a wonderful meal with great service then this is the place for you!

Stunned at how excellence permeated the dining experience. Menus were accessed through a QR code. When I was unable to figure out how to use my Android phone to scan the QR code graphic, our waiter retrieved paper menus.I later figured out how to access the digital menu. I'll illustrate the process later. Service was a five. Food was a five. Ambience was a five. Excellence was found at every turn.

I enjoyed my visit to the Wayfare Tavern with my girlfriend for a late lunch. We were treated to complimentary French Press, and homemade potato chips and popovers. We particularly enjoyed the Steak Tartar, and the Tavern Burger we got was solid too. The Wayfare Tavern has great portion sizes, ambiance, and a very friendly staff. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Good atmosphere and furnishings, I loved :) Good selection of wine and other beverages as well as food We went there at 7 pm on Sunday. What we wanted to order pork chops and Prince Edward Island mussels already run out :( But burger was great juicy beef patty with caramelised onion...yum! If you book on Sunday, earlier is better. AND! Again for dinner on Thursday :) Pork chop was great

Decided to give Wayfare Tavern a try due to high reviews and a famous chef. I'm very glad I did because unfortunately, I have yet another favorite restaurant in SF that I will need to return to. Service: spectacular, in fact they have a whole team of folks working inside. Food was delivered in record time which was a bit of a downside because I ordered my entire meal at once and it was too much. Food: the bread and butter was fantastic. The combination had a really great flavor though it can be difficult to add the right amount of butter due to the salt content. There were a few bites that were a hair salty because of this The Mac and Cheese is good. It has a good texture and I felt like the chef was looking out for their patrons as it felt like a healthy Mac and Cheese if there is such a thing. The Chicken sandwich was unexpected huge! As many have said the chicken is a must try here and you will not be disappointed. Chicken is nice and moist throughout, it has a nice batter and is very good. Fried were excellent as well Cocktails: tried the Western Addition. It's not for the faint of heart and beware it equates to a heavy liquor pour. If you love Mezcal though, this is the one to get. Wayfare Tavern also has a wide range of other liquor and aperitifs. Overall, I was very impressed with this place and has a great feel about it. I look forward to my next adventure here

Great service. Incredibly cozy ambiance. Helpfully limited menu. The dinner roll and creamed butter are amazing. We had the butter lettuce with salmon and the fried chicken. Had sangria cocktails and the house made donuts for dessert. Not cheap, but worth the quality. I've come several times and never been disappointed
