I have used Watkins Insurance Group for years with no claims and no fuss. I was easy money to them. Rarely had to call but when I did, I was always assigned a new representative and it was like pulling teeth to get them to call me back. My last representative was Amy, who provided very poor customer service. That was the last straw so I cancelled them and will never use them again. Extreme lack of communication and promptness!

EXTREMELY disappointed in this insurance company. Communication is very poor and little did I know their rates are WAY higher than other companies for the same if not better insurance. Do yourself a favor and shop around before signing with them. We learned the hard way as small business owner in Austin.

We recently bought our first home and got in touch with Justin Nelson at Watkins for homeowners insurance. He is very pleasant, responsive, and knowledgeable. We decided to switch to Watkins for our auto insurance as well, and they got us a great price. My partner and I pay less for both our cars together than my partner paid for his alone previously! Great experience!

We have had insurance through Watkins since the early 70's. As with any business, you occasionally get an agent that doesn't try as hard as others. But during those over 40 years, I feel that we have received Excellent service, top prices and treated like family!

Everything started as a great experience--got a quote quickly, very nice customer-service oriented representative. But then when it came to signing the papers, I was told I would get them by the end of business day, at the latest the next morning. I never received anything, and it's now been a week and a half. There was no communication regarding a delay or status, and when I inquired, I got no answer on the phone and no reply to my email. I'm a bit concerned that they took my personal information and then dead silence.

Edit: Just as an update, the rep never ever got back to me.

I've called 5 times for an insurance quote, and each time they've promised to call me back - sometimes they say 30 minutes, sometimes they promise the next day. Called a 6th time and they said they'd call me "soon." Might have just been my experience, but they definitely don't seem interested in new business.
