Had fun playing board games with the controlled chaos group
The hotel staff is helpful, available for any questions, which i had plenty of, being my first time in Ontario. The only thing I'd say they can improve on would be updating the TV's i was hoping to plug my switch into it to play some games, but there isn't even a HDMI input on them
We use the pool which has very reasonable daily rates and a monthly pass for $40. The change rooms are not ideal and are down a flight of stairs from the pool area, which can be slippery due to less than ideal drainage.
I've never stayed at the hotel.
Room was older, but very spacious. Loud air conditioning; decent breakfast.
The staff were helpful. The fire alarm was pulled and they were prompt to let us know they were looking into it.
Google opinions asked me to write this review unaware that this hotel will be closing at the end of next week. December 15, 2015.
It was fun while it lasted.
I went to a breakfast event and the venue was clean, open, and had good AV for the speakers.
The location was convenient. Everything I wanted to do was within a 10 minute drive of the hotel (go to the university, the mall, restaurants, Laurel Creek conservation area). The room was clean. I was disappointed that there wasn't a hairdryer. The bed was a bit hard for my liking and the mini fridge in our room made terrible noise (only at night) and kept me up. I stayed in the room with my boyfriend and there was only one coffee pod for the Keurig even though I booked it for 2. The pillows and duvet on the bed were nice. I liked that there was a desk, sofa, and TV. There was no safe to lock valuables in. Elevator was slow so we took the stairs. It was your average hotel. Way better a motel but not a 5 star.
Hotel should update description to state restaurant in closed mon-Wen. Booked hotel specifically to have meeting. Other then that however is a your average hotel..clean room
We were there for a business function. Our room was poorly marked. When we found it the coffee was cold and bitter like it had been on the burned for a few hours. They did not bring food for the breaks on time.
Business meeting in one of the second floor meeting room. It was clean, bright, and easily accessible.
The staff are very friendly and food was nice and I like how nice it looks
Good breakfast options. Large renovated rooms. Friendly front desk staff. Good option close to University of Waterloo
The Inn Of Waterloo was very nice. Very clean room, nice pool and hottub and a great size breakfast. I would recommend plus go again if in Waterloo.
Hospitable and comfy, interior is a little out of date
Went to a wedding reception. Food and atmosphere was great
Good breakfast, nice comfy bed, clean, quiet, and friendly. Would stay again.
Wow.... Where do I start. The only reason this hotel received a 1 * is because the gentleman and lady at the check in desk were great, the location was good and the breakfest decent. But here is the bad side and it's very evident from the pictures.
We stayed in the old section of the hotel, and when I say old, I mean the carpets can tell their own story. We got to our room, and I did the room check as I always do.... The beds were ok,but the pillows looked weird, so I took a closer look. Each one of the 8 pillows were disgustingly yellow from sweat. I called down to 0the front desk and without arguing was told that I would get brand new pillows (I'm thinking.... Hmm. Ok.. They must get this alot ..). In about 20 min 2 young guys show up and the 1 guy says "you the one complaining about the pillows? Here is some new ones for you". I looked at him and said "yes I am, these are yellow and disgusting ". His answer to that blew me away... He said "well, that's what happens over time"... And I just told him to leave the pillows. I checked the new (to me) pillows and 3 were white, and 1 had a yellow tinge to it do we left it on the chair for the duration of our stay.
The rooms overall are dated and need tlc, the carpets are filthy and full of stains, the beds lumpy, and the thermostat in the room is just for show as you have to use the dials on the heating/cooling unit on the wall... Which eventhough it has multiple settings, is only on or off.
We had to stay there for OVA provincials, but if you don't have to stay there.... I would recommend you do not, unless you can get into the renovated section, which I did hear was better, but never got to see it.
Weddings was going on and no notice to where to go. Had to stand in line to ask and messed the wedding
Big place. Has a pool. Staff seems very nice. Alot of free parking. Then can cater to a decent crowd.
The interior is pleasant, but a little old-fashioned. Pool, hot tub, and sauna were excellent additions.
Nice service, love the breakfast and the salt water pool!
college parties, first floor packed with drunk 19 year olds, ran into an older gentleman yelling "dental floss!" at his phone outside a room stacked with empty pizza boxes out front, (first floor short walk from the lobby. will not return.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the facility is very nice and clean.
Staff are so friendly and helpful, hotel is great even through Covid protocols, room is clean swimming pool was perfect. My kids were happy today.
Thanks all
The meeting room was too hot and the air was stale.
We went off season and booked a honeymoon suite. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any inquiries we had. Breakfast was included, they have a waffle machine and a good options for breakfast. Everything was very tasty. We will be booking again.
Hotel staff was great. Good selection for breakfast. The rooms were clean, maybe a little outdated, but still nice.
Looks nice but upon further inspection...the room was lacking...I mean it has most of the essentials (towels, hair dryer, iron with board)
As for things like toilet paper, tissues...they were either lacking or non existent.
There is a little Keurig single cup machine...but you are stuck using their pods unless you bring your own and their flavors are very VERY limited.
There were a total of 2 hangers in my room so I wasn't able to hang all of my important clothes. I could have asked for more but I really shouldn't have to.
Poorly designed shower...floods the entire bathroom.
Horrible floor plan throughout the entire hotel.
I suppose if you needed a place to stay in the KW area it's a place to lay your head....maybe go for a swim in their saltwater pool...or soak in their hot tub....maybe have a steamy sauna after a workout in their gym.
Could use a bit of cleaning. Tad disappointed on that front.
It was fantastic. Breakfast was nice. The room was clean. Great experience!
Good place to stay for a few days near the university.
The location is verynl hidden. The rooms are very clean but the reception area is very small.
Played in a darts tournament and staff was very good.
Great dinner to be had here. And the hotel itself is beautiful and reasonably priced. A great place to check out.
Just WOW!! We enjoyed our company Christmas celebration here this year. The food was truly melt in nour mouth, magical!
The service, better than a 5 star..our server placed napkins on our laps and was very attentive and accommodating. I can't say enough good..it was amazing.
Not a bad place to stay, although the WiFi didn't always work to well
While the pool area and lounge are decent, the upgraded suite was really disappointing. The King bed is two twins pushed together with a huge crack down the middle and our spa tub was full of soap scum and a used bar of soap.
Our room was serviced which only included fresh towels and the duvet was tossed back on the bed in a mess.
Breakfast was good but as others mentioned they ran out of coffee quickly and some items were not replenished.
I stayed here with my family for my convocation ceremony. There are many rooms in the hotel and it was a little confusing to find (my dad called it a maze) but it was comfortable and the facilities are great.
Very nice hotel. The rooms were big enough, beds comfy, the food was ok, the pool was fun. Overall a decent hotel that I would stay at again
We stayed with a small group. They were so accommodating with keeping us close. The breakfast was great! Staff helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again.
Room was ok. There were obvious needs for improvement. Our room has cracks in the wall and odd specks on the ceiling and wall. We missed breakfast because it ends at 10 and we had gotten up and dressed at 930, and with checkout at 11 we needed the time. The hotel is a complete maze and we had issues finding our way around, it's almost as if you need a map with you at all times. All around we had a nice stay just minor details. The bed was amazing!
Clean rooms, great service!! Very pleased with my stay.
This Inn is supposed to be 100% a non smoking facility however the management is doing a horrible job at ensuring the students residing there are not smoking in rooms. Also, the customer service is very unsatisfactory and quite rude.
This place is kind of a mess. It isn't full service so you can't get room service, and the restaurant is only open a couple days a week. So you've got to go out to get dinner. In addition, there are problems with the heaters. The one in my room stopped working and I had to get another room. Stay anywhere else!
Staff members are very nice , clean hotel we will come back. Thank you.
Terrible customer service would never go back or recomend this place to anyone
The reception is nice. The room is nice enough, but the best.
A great spot for hosting events. I recently attended a Chamber of Commerce event at the Inn of Waterloo and really enjoyed the space and the service provided.
Nice location, rooms and great service. Staff is really nice and helpful.
Great staff. Wonderful and clean space. Incredible banquet leadership and highly recommend for your next conference or meeting venue.
One of the best hotels to stay in the region. Beat accommodations and service.
No heat outside the rooms. Heat inside the rooms was poor. TV was terrible. Front desk was helpful, but overall customer care was poor. One star (can't do less) because there were beds to sleep on!
The room is very big that is good while the Wi-Fi connection is super awful. And the breakfast doesn't look as the pic shown in the official website totally
The complimentary breakfast is pretty decent! However, the carpet in our room was kind of damp, and there appeared to be signs of previous water damage. There were small stains in my bed sheets, but they appeared clean overall. The floor also did not appeared to be fully vacuumed. But, overall, it was ok.
Terrible service. Arrived before eight in the evening. Only one staff at the desk so there was a wait. I am currently writing this from the lobby as I am unable to check into the room I reserved and ALREADY PAID for. I was not told from staff that it is mandatory to bring the same card you reserved with. Although it is policy, they did not inform me. This is a joke. I would give zero stars but that is not an option.
Great place for a getaway. Pool and hot tub are awesome. Delicious breakfast included. You can't go wrong!
We stayed at the Inn of Waterloo for one night. It met and exceeded all expectations and was a great price as well. The hotel is very large which is a good thing-- they use the space well (it is not a 30 story skyscraper). There are several sitting areas and even a outdoor courtyard in the interior of the building.
Nice rooms- on the main floor has a walkout patio/sliding door. Well appointed with modern bathroom/shower. Very comfortable beds and the room had a mini fridge. Lots of little details (like the closet doors have an automatic light that comes on when you open them).
Great location-- just a few blocks from Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier. It is also close to St. Jacob's (a quaint little town with one of the best farmer's markets in the world).
Great pool- with a fitness room, whirlpool/spa and a sauna with showers. The pool deck is giant with beautiful wrought iron entry gates.
Phenomenal breakfast- everything you could want in a self- serve hotel breakfast- waffles, eggs, sausage, etc. The eating space is really outstanding- instead of being crammed into a tiny room off the lobby where all of the tables are taken-- this breakfast is presented in a beautiful expansive dining hall/restaurant. Plenty of space and really nice atmosphere.
In summary- a great hotel in a great location for a great price that wasn't a "chain". You really can't go wrong!!
Absolutely terrible service. Manager at front desk extremely rude. Ant problem in rooms and internet/tv cut out every night.
