My review is based only on taking one class there, wheel throwing, and it has been fantastic. I plan on purchasing lab time once the class is over and continuing to make clay pots and cups and such. Worth every penny to learn something fun and new.

This is a fabulous art center. The youth pavilion is so engaging. We have a lot of great art attractions. A source of pride for Waterloo. Also check out the great art classes offered for the children.

Just had my 2 sons joined Birthday parties here this evening (ages 14 and 16 yrs old). Great communication with Camille with booking as well with any questions I had prior to the party this evening. GREAT process to pay for the rental of the hall. I highly recommend Waterloo Center for the Arts.

Beautiful facility with a variety of options for the whole family. Had our wedding reception here in 2009 and it exceeded all of our expectations. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Big hall. Plenty of outlets. They offered more than enough tables, chairs, and tablecloths. Very clean. Nice commercial kitchen. Plenty of lightning. The windows and doors face a nice view of the river.

We have respectfully waited 2 weeks to hear back from anyone regarding our awful WEDDING experience with the Center for the Arts, but we have not heard a single word from them.
We had our wedding on 8/12/17 at the Amphitheater, we booked the space more than a year in advance with Carrie the events coordinator. She had been very helpful and assured us many times that we would not have to do anything except show up and have a good time. Well, Carrie left and we got replaced with Cherie who knows NOTHING about how to coordinate events.
I talked on the phone with Cherie twice the week of the wedding, and my husband and I had a meeting with her the week before. We were told MULTIPLE times that the pathways would be barricaded so that public could not walk through our wedding, and that the Splash Pad would be turned off. There were no barricades up, and the Splash Pad was on with at least 15 people playing on the pad that we had to ask to leave. My HUSBAND, GROOMSMAN, and FATHER had to clean up BEER CANS, CIGARETTES, TRASH and VOMIT!! IN THEIR TUXEDOS because the Amphitheater had not been cleaned from the concert the previous day AND put up the barricades themselves.
I PAID for the Media Gallery to get ready in with my bridesmaids and honorees, and the DOUBLE BOOKED it with a birthday party, so they "upgraded us" to a better, bigger space... yeah IN THE BASEMENT of the building. There were spiders, and storage, and it was dimly lit. We had to talk to the front desk FOUR TIMES before we were able to be moved into the room that I PAID for. Then we were told by numerous people that we had to get out of there because there was a birthday party in there that day. We had to ONCE AGAIN, move all of our stuff out of the room before the ceremony even started. Which meant that anything that we needed access to after the ceremony (makeup touch ups, shoes, cellphones, etc) were all scattered between peoples cars and not easily accessible.
We had random public strangers walking around before, during, and after the ceremony and had to multiple times tell people to leave because it was a private event.

We asked multiple times, to multiple people, who was in charge to get our money back, at least for the nonsense with the Media Gallery, and no one knew who to talk to. No one knew who Cherie was, and they clearly do not communicate with each other.

The day was chaos and I am so incredibly thankful that we did NOT have the reception there. It was an awful experience. and I pray that our pictures turn out nicely since none of us were able to touch up makeup or fix anything afterwards because we had no room to go and touch up in.

I DO NOT promote doing any events at the Center for the Arts, and I would NOT ever give them your money. They place and staff is chaotic and disrespectful.

This museum/arts center has a rotating art exhibit from visiting artists, as well as an extensive permanent collection of Hatian art. The rotating exhibits are on both floors. It also has a room for hosting plays and another multi-purpose room for hosting various art programs, including large choirs and ballroom dancing. On the two floors are rooms for children's classes in various arts. Also there is a coffee/tea cafe and a gift shop. A nice place to visit frequently.

We had so much fun here with my kids 2, 3 and 5 years old. The adults had fun too! There are so many areas and levels of engagement. I really was surprised that something so nice exists in a relatively small city.
