Saw Postmodern Jukebox. Was a great show, even being about midway out. Only real show ruiner was the woman next to my viewing partner literally throwing up 3-4 songs before the end of the show, during a ballad. Post show, she seems to have not only been drinking during the show (thanks to the bar and then signs urging people to order double since it would be closing and there was no intermission) but to have smuggled in her own bottle of alcohol as well.

Other than that, the facilities were well kept and staff was cordial, and presented themselves in a professional manner.

Definitely slanted towards education of children to the left. The misinformation was unacceptable, especially the farming part. Sioux Falls is surrounded by farms but yet they are pushing an agenda that is putting the small American farmer out of business and creating corporate farms. We bought a membership last year, will not give my support again in that form. There was some displays that are relevant and educational with no underlying motives. Those were good for the kids but just so disappointed in some of there displays against agriculture.

This is an absolutely beautiful building, and is worth going to. It's there perfect sort of place for exploring with kids and romantic dates, the coffee shop is remarkable and the overall vibe is both electric and relaxing. It's a conglomerate of cool, and I'd highly recommend it.

A very nice atmosphere. Building was clean and we'll laid out. We were on a tight schedule and couldn't check out all the exhibits. Parking was tough, don't park in the public lot, it is leased only parking. We didn't notice the leased only sign. $15 fine for parking there. No break even with Veteran plates.

The Kirby Science Center is a family favorite. There are so many hands-on ctivities that the kids easily stay preoccupied for a couple hours. Best part? It makes the kids interested to learn! Aside from that, the visual arts center is fantastic. Galleries are switched regularly. Not to mention anfll the shows on stage and in the cinedome that satisfy adults and children alike! Plus, memberships are very affordable compared to daily rates if you plan on visiting semi-regularly.

Great artist, problem was serving booze to country music fans in that venue bad idea. People standing when should have been sitting, people sucking face all through show in front of my grandma, spilling beer on mom and her purse. Will not do again.

They go on and on about how they have a mask policy and how they're so dedicated to keeping their guests safe, but literally everyone had their mask off. And I'm not talking about the toddlers running around. Grown adults. Might as well just open your theater back up since you guys don't actually care about Covid. Also like three exhibits were broken. And that Lab Time exhibit had no props? It's literally just a desk. Way too much money to get in for what they had.

My family and I love the Washington Pavillion, esp...

My family and I love the Washington Pavillion, especially the Kirby Science Discovery Center & Visual Arts Center found on its upper floors. The Pavilion has alot to offer through, the primary reason we went in the first place was because the Kirby Science Center takes part of "First Fridays" here in Sioux Falls. Essentially, on the first Friday of the month, they open the center up for free and provide extended hours and remain open until 8 (as of the most recent one) and allow parents and children give the place a try without any monetary commitment. This is how we got our taste of the place to begin with, and it is a fantastic place for learning and playing for kids and even adults alike.

Furthermore, the Pavilion also hosts concerts, symphonies, and even some plays too so if that suits your fancy take a look at the side of their building where they display ads for upcoming events, call their desk, or just check online. In addition, while I haven't eaten there but have smelled the food, they have Leonardo's Cafe in the building too if you want to grab a bite!

My one nitpick or gripe is that their hours are not really accessible for working parents who want to bring kiddos to the Science Center. They close at 5 every day of the week with the exception of first fridays. This made it difficult for me to get off work on a normal weekday (which I usually get off anywhere around 5-6), and make it to the center. If you want to make a good trip out of this, you are probably going to need to make a midday trip to it on the weekend or on your day off.

Outside of that, the place is great and worth visiting a time or two. Especially since they change their exhibits from time to time to keep things fresh!

Awesome facility.

Awesome facility.
Concessions on each level for intermissions.
Ease of outdoors to smoke.
No ice on grounds, but the parking lots were coated in spots.
Elevator to get up to the various levels.

My 4 and 7 year old had an absolute blast at the Washington Pavilion's Kirby Science Center today! There are new exhibits and they were entertained for hours!! There were Covid safety measures in place so we felt very comfortable. Highly recommend for getting your kiddos out during the SD winter!

This place has a lot of potential, but nothing that makes you want to come back for more. The science center has recently renovated their displays, but probably will not change for another 10 years.

There are always great shows of one sort or another here. Come early and visit the visual arts studio upstairs to see some amazing artwork. The science museum is great for kids - lots of hands-on activities.

It was a great location to see my first ballet. There were helpful, friendly people right at the door to help us find our seats. We were up in the balcony and could see everything. It was fantastic!

The performances I've attended have always been top of the line. I've never had a bad seat or a bad view. If they had an option to buy into two season passes for a small price break that would be fantastic. Single season passes are good, but most people prefer company when they attend the theater.
