From a workers point of view: I really liked working for this company, they are very family oriented and if your child is sick or you have an emergency they will work with you. In the middle of winter we slid off the road and flipped out truck and they were really understanding. Also newborn was sick a few times and they worked with me. Obviously you can't abuse that leniency or you will lose your job but if you're legit then your good. And usually any day I asked for they gave me. Busy season is around November to June I believe and there is pots of overtime to be had but it wasn't a forced overtime. From my understanding even those that are hired in kind of swap out between who will stay longer on certain days, that's mostly with the bosses. If you're a hard worker they will be more than willing to move you to a position you'd like and you're more likely to get hired in. I only started working because we really needed the money but when we got caught up I decided that I wanted to be at home with my newborn so that's what I did, otherwise I'd still be working there. There are alot of Hispanics and guatamalens here but I never had an issue because this company holds everyone responsible for their actions from what I could tell, yes there were some problems like in any company, it isn't perfect but they really do encourage you to speak up and tell them about problems. A few times I did see that they were maybe too lenient with some people but eventually those people were fired, so if you look at it from both sides if you're messing up they give you time to fix your actions or make up for mistakes but if it continues eventually they will fire you. Also any Hispanics in leadership positions were fully versed in English and Spanish, only one lady I knew had a little broken English but she was genuinely trying to learn English, we were teaching each other each others languages. Also you may run into gossip but that's like anywhere I guess, it kind of irked me a bit listening to people talk about others but I just tried to ignore it, I guess I'm just not used to it because I have always worked in small tight-knit companies, the more people you get in one spot the more heads will butt. But in saying that I did one time bring a complaint to a head boss and it was taken under serious consideration. Later it was actually taken care of. Also this company will give felons or anyone who has been in trouble with the law a second chance, but don't abuse that kindness like others have because it makes it hard on the next person who's trying to better their lives. Not sure what else I can say about it, oh they have lower premiums on health insurance because they do workouts on breaks and they have other ways you can personally lower your insurance. Od definitely try to go back here when I'm ready to go back to work its a great place to work for just don't take advantage of them. There is a lot of sitting if you're on the line but they will let you stand if you would like to, shipping and greenhouse workers get to move around more, I actually miss the smell of all those plants. I only gave it a four cuz no it's not perfect but compared to alot of other places Walters gardens bus amazing and they are always trying to do better.
Customer point of view: I was never a customer but let me tell you we threw away alot of plants because they just didn't meet the standards.working here you are allowed to take some home if you'd like. There is just alot of standards they have so that their customers get the best quality possible.
