The staff on Red River were sweet and understanding. I thank WCY for being there for me, no matter what. They put up with me, even though I threw some really nasty fits sometimes, and they always cared. You can count on Waco Center for Youth to take care of you. I send special thank-yous to Mrs. Felicia, Mrs. Nikki, and Mrs. Nina on Red River, Mr. Tim on the HAB team, and Ms. Martha on Brazos. Thank you all for making a difference in my life.

I would never recommend Waco Center for Youth to anyone. I am currently placed in WCY and it has been a horrible experience for me. I have been here for almost 8 months now and have not made progress at all. If anything, my behavior has worsened.

Didn't have a successful outcome for my son.
Was asked by a friend, what their success rate is, and well, can't find it anywhere. Dig deep before placing your child here.

I went here through the Dallas Juvenile Court System, that was 16 years ago, Since it's been awhile, I find it hard to remember some things , but I did endure a few favorite staff members while residing on the Brazos Unit, some I can't remember their names, but I remember Holly Warshack.. she was awesome.. Also during the Summer time, you get to swim if your on a specific level to leave the Unit.. The lifeguard who was there when I was there, was so nice to me, she even made me an ankle bracelet as a keep sake in remembering her. The food here rocks, church services was good, I was in the band for a little bit till I messed up and had to be put on the Lock-down on the Brazos Unit, don't know if they still do that.. But Pods C and D were for people who are doing good, and get more freedom, while Pods A and B were locked down 24/7... but anywho, my stay there was good.. I was there for about 2 years.. This is the best place to be when you're a Youth.. :)

This was by far the best place I went. I was a Pecos unit guy and Mrs.Maria Wright was my therapist and without her and the wonderful staff I wouldn't be where I am today. I was there for 11 months and it became almost like home. I recommend this facility highly and always will talk highly of WCY.

I was there in 1985 when I was just 13 yrs old...I was on cottage 6 my first round there cottage 1 my second round. I think about the staff and the friends I had there from time...Jeff, Caroline Stringbean, she was my favorite staff, then there was Linda Gilliam she to this day was the best therapist I've ever had...she really cared. And the Musketeers ( our click) Jennifer, Christina, Mesha, and me of course only I was known as another name back then. And I remember a girl named Queen. And who could ever forget Tim Martin!! And our final dance. And a boy named Virgil who's heart I broke with my meanness. Oh how'd love to go back and see my friends and tell Miss Linda how much she means to me still today. If your ever in a place you've never been go with an open mind and an open heart because you never what kind of people you may meet that will change your life forever!! That was one of the most memorable place I was ever sent to and some of the best friends I've ever had. And I still love waking up to the music blaring in the mornings...its how I've woke my kids up every morning for school. It was really a very special place. I hope things are still the same for the youth today. Because not many facilities are very good but if I had to do it again I'd definitely do WCY again!!

I was sent there in 1989. I was only 15 at the time. My parents had a hard time dealing with a "problem child", so I had to work with the staff and went through lots of therapy. At first I hated the place. But then after 2 months I actually started to like it there and made lots of friends.

In the end I actually didn't want to go back home lol. Turns out I wasn't really a "problem child" at all. I felt like my Parents needed more therapy then I did haha. Many years later I grew up to be a successful woman, got married and now I have a successful career. :-)

Think hard before you send your child off...I'm seventeen and stayed there for 6months because of cps...I was the only one who didint take medicene at all...your teen may be struggling but the last thing you want is for them to be alone for six months questioning your love for them, the staff on campus was the only reason I went six months without trying to run away, don't abandon a problem, fix it.

When I went here it helped me a lot. At first I had the impression I didn't like this place,I hated it. I wanted nothing to do with it. Then a long 2 months of being there I was like you know what these isn't even bad. I really need to start talking more and working on myself. Then after I got that kind of attitude i was out of there 4 months later.. the people that work there really helped me . A lot. I'm glad I got the opportunity to meet the people I did. Thank y'all for everything

I was here from April til July of 1997. The only reason I'm writing about this place is because I had a girlfriend in this place. Her name was Era. She was my first love. 22 years later, I still think of her. I wonder where she is.

Waco Center For Youth literally saved my life. Thank you to the Brazos staff for putting up with me both the times I was there. 2nd X December 8th, 2015- August 17 2016. Mrs. Catie is the best therapist you can have there... she really cares and listens. The food is decent compared to Wichita Falls North Texas State Hospital. Yes it is kind of scary if you have never been to an RTC (residential treatment center) the girls on Brazos (especially on a full moon) went AWOL and lost their minds. Lucky for me I discharged with a level IV (4) This place really does give every youth a chance for change.... If your child is severely ill and you live in Texas and you have tried everything... try once more... try WCY!
