Wabash General Hospital is the best small hospital...

Wabash General Hospital is the best small hospital in the region

When I have an urgent need, I think of WGH first.
Great doctors and staff which are all friendly and courteous. They will say 'hi' to you in the hallways!
Strict Covid-19 procedures are in force. Mask are required, social distance, and plastic shields at all desk locations. Temperatures checks are taken and you are asked about 5 questions.
If visiting a patient at the hospital, only one person a day is allowed. ONLY ONE PER DAY!

Update: 9/15/21

Go to main entrance desk for Covid19 questions.
Social distancing not being used. Masks required.

We knew better than to go here again, but in an emergency, you go to the closest place, right? Wrong. Go anywhere else. After nearly dying there myself due to misdiagnosis and truly dangerous treatment from attending doctor last year, someone else in my family was recently misdiagnosed (and we were both treated very rudely by ER nurses) and sent home to suffer needlessly for weeks until things got so bad, we went to a better hospital and got the proper diagnosis. Go to Evansville or Vincennes, but not here! It's all about making as much money as possible for doing as little as possible. EMS is 80% great, but have them keep driving you somewhere else for diagnosis/treatment. The Quality Department doesn't need to post a generic reply about where to call about my concerns. They were reported, we were told they would be looked into, and nothing ever came of it (from nearly a year ago). It's very sad to have to say these things about my hometown hospital, but I hope others will learn from my mistake of trusting WGH for anything at all. Poor equipment, off-site radiologists, and doctors who are paternalistic to the point of dictating inappropriate care that nurses can't or won't question make this the last place you should go if you can get anywhere else. I truly wish this wasn't the case.

My son age 14 went to Wabash General Hospital for an over night sleep study. Ginger explained everything in a way the put him and me as ease. The accommodations were well above our expectations. All the staff were professional, courteous and reassuring. Wabash is our hospital of choice.

Took my 8 month old daughter there for excessive diarrhea and high fever. They tested her for Covid and flu and said she looks great . After a trip to Evansville, she ended up being admitted for two nights with iv fluids, kidneys almost shut down, and a bacteria. Never again will I or a member of my family be seen there.

I highly recommend this therapy department of Wabash General Hospital. I ve had therapy on two knee replacements since February 2018, and have had the pleasure to get to know many of the staff, who have all been very instrumental in what seemed to a very quick rehab of both knees. All the therapists that I came into contact with were very confident in their decisions on what to have me do, to speed my recovery and offer me exercises to do on my own to benefit my recovery. I wish I could come up with more words to say how happy and satisfied I was with the whole team! This is a five star therapy department!
