We knew better than to go here again, but in an emergency, you go to the closest place, right? Wrong. Go anywhere else. After nearly dying there myself due to misdiagnosis and truly dangerous treatment from attending doctor last year, someone else in my family was recently misdiagnosed (and we were both treated very rudely by ER nurses) and sent home to suffer needlessly for weeks until things got so bad, we went to a better hospital and got the proper diagnosis. Go to Evansville or Vincennes, but not here! It's all about making as much money as possible for doing as little as possible. EMS is 80% great, but have them keep driving you somewhere else for diagnosis/treatment. The Quality Department doesn't need to post a generic reply about where to call about my concerns. They were reported, we were told they would be looked into, and nothing ever came of it (from nearly a year ago). It's very sad to have to say these things about my hometown hospital, but I hope others will learn from my mistake of trusting WGH for anything at all. Poor equipment, off-site radiologists, and doctors who are paternalistic to the point of dictating inappropriate care that nurses can't or won't question make this the last place you should go if you can get anywhere else. I truly wish this wasn't the case.
