As a driver, we're underpaid, we receive no lunch, no bonus, no scheduled breaks and we have 11 hour days. We're billed out at $60.60 per hour yet we make just pennies above minimum wage. This should be criminal. We're required to transport the most vulnerable of people yet paid close to a burger maker. Drivers are often late for calls because there's not enough time between calls. We're not robots.
Drivers were late for pick up and didn’t bother to read the papers that said patient needed oxygen. I had to ask hospital to lend them oxygen for my mom until they got her to their transport vehicle. Then they had the audacity to charge me for an extra 6 minutes for waiting when they were the ones who were 17 minutes late arriving and then I had to arrange for the oxygen that they should have brought it up with them. Terrible service and I would not recommend them to anyone. Thus is the last thing people need when they are transporting their loved ones to hospice.
