Vos' Independent Grocer Review

This is the best store in Port Perry. As a person who values healthly food, Vos has a great section for organics and healthy food. This store is always clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner Terry is always on the lookout to improve sevice and quality. I also shop Vos for seasonal gifts, cards, clothes and more. They also have a wonderful bakery area. Love the cakes here!

This food store is quite unique. Some foods that you wouldn't be able to buy anywhere else in the area. Good produce and at a great affordable price.

Always friendly and great selection if you're looking for international ingredients.

They have outrages prices compared to Food Basic's and Walmart for the same product .only shop there for items on sale

Excellent selection and shopping experience. The prices are all on the high side of course but the aisles are wide and brightly lit, and occasionally they even offer some free samples.

One of three grocers in town. Good selection but as with all pc stores, some of the pre bagged fruit can be past due date, or not carefully selected by suppliers. Prices can be higher that sobeys or food basics

Nice place. Prices aren't always the best, but overall we tend to opt to shop here.

It is very large..this may be intimidating to some..but this might be what appeals to many..It really becomes a personal prefetence...It has a little bit of everything..bake shop,deli,beer and wine is sold here..lottery counter,etc etc

Great place to shop. Usually have everything in stock. Many extra services offered at this Independent Grocer , ie, Pharmacy, Photo/Print , Cell Phones, Beer, Wine Store, Soup Hot Food Counter,Many prepared Food items, and of Course Public Washroom. Staff is for the most part very helpful and Curious.

Came in to get some groceries and they told me I needed to sanitize. I explained that I'm allergic to hand sanitizer and that it makes me break out badly so she said wear gloves instead then. I proceeded to put on the gloves and she said now sanitize the gloves too. I asked if I can just wear the gloves as they are of a thin plastic material and I don't want to chance any sanitizer getting through. She proceeded to refuse to let me in so I asked if I could speak to a manager.

I explained the situation to the manager, and she said "well everything in the store is sprayed down with sanitizer so what difference does it make?". I said "I don't think that's safe or sanitary to have all of your food and grocery items sprayed down with sanitizer". She then proceeded to tell me to leave the property and that I will no longer be allowed to shop there until I start applying chemicals to my skin that I'm allergic to. Other employee's present looked at each other and giggled as if it was all just a big joke.

I was very calm, patient and friendly through it all but the lack of sympathy and understanding here was just horrendous. It is illegal to refuse anyone service and the right to buy food due to a medical condition or allergy. I attempted to call to speak to a manager afterwards for extra clarity on the situation and I assume I must have got the same rude, unsympathetic lady who just repeated the same thing.

Stay far away from this unprofessional establishment where they get off from treating you like dirt and just another number.

Went there on the 14th of September to grab roast that were on sale. Went to express and cashier was touching her hair while dealing with the customer in front of me. When my turn came she wiped her nose with her hand and then grabbed her sweater to proceed doing it again. As a cashier myself if you touch your nose or your hair or any body part for that matter Please SANITIZE your damn hands.

I can't believe the prices here! Double what I'm used to! Peppers were rotting on the shelves. I think these guys need to do better.

You have to watch expired dates. I bought muffin mix and when I got it home noticed the ex date was Dec 26/18. Took it back and they put it back on the shelf. Next time in I noticed the same pkg and took it back to CSU again. Tried buying it again and the pkg was even older.

Lots of stuff, not a place for bulk foods. The salads are pretty good.

Good quality produce and a splendid bakery make this a well rounded grocery store. The store offers the standard President s Choice products and a slowly increasing international fare.

Small store but it makes the most out of what it has. Good offers, great bakery and meat selection.

I found out that Vos delivers!!!!
They have been a God Send for me.
Their staff are wonderful and Jane ( the driver) is Wonderful!

Prices are a little high, but they carry a large variety of foods with many of them freshly prepared. They carry many items the other stores in town do not.

Big market on the lake. Well-supplied with a wide range of products.
