This is the best pizza in the USA and the garlic cheese bread is fantastic. I see these clips on internet for best pizza, but honestly, Vitos is way better. I have eaten at a couple places they said were great and believe me, they are not. Been coming here for 18 years.

Update June 20, 2015: In my review on June 11th, I informed that our server inadvertently charged us full price on our drinks. To our pleasant surprise, we were contacted by the owners Ryan and Alexis and not only did they apologize for any misunderstanding, they explained what may have happened and kindly sent us a gift certificate as well. This is outstanding customer service and only reinforces our already positive opinion of their restaurant.

Thank you Ryan and Alexis! We look forward to visiting your restaurant in the near future.

My wife and I were introduced to Vito's by some dear friends.

We have returned several times and have sampled several of their dishes. Our favorite however is their fantastic Chicago Style pizza! We usually order a medium and have half deluxe (Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms, green peppers, onions) and half Margherita (Tomato sauce, olive oil, fresh garlic, Parmigiano Reggiano, four cheese blend, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, basil.) for about $18.

They're Italian appetizers are pretty good as well and range from about $8 to $11.

We also enjoy their happy hour (weekdays 3-6pm)which features a good variety of $5 wines, $3 draft beers, and $4 party drinks, etc. Though they did inadvertently charge us full price last time for one of our drinks, which we'll bring to their attention on our next visit.

Finally, we've enjoyed their genuinely friendly and efficient staff and management.

We look forward to our next visit!

I've been wanting to try this restourantie for a while now. We ordered the spinach artichoke with borchetta bread. It was extremely salty and cheesy. No flavor of the spinach or the artichoke.
Husband ordered lobster ravioli with the spring sauce. It was also extremely salty. To much sauce that drowned out any flavor of the ravioli. I think they were not homemade.
I ordered lasagna with meatballs. It too was extremely salty and absolutely 4 times the sauce it shoud have never had. It was not form but slimmey. No detection of homemade noodles. Just to overwelming.
The restaurant is one of the cleanest of restaurants I have ever had a pleasure to be in.
The server was professional and attentive.

Thanks Vitos but we will never return.

Crust amazing. Too much garlic on Margarita, but I ate the whole thing. Canolis yummy. Grilled chicken awesome. Not a good place for people in wheel chairs though. Restroom too small, and no one has been trained to deal with it.

VERY disappointed with the service and food received last night. (i thought this would be a good experience, since the online process was so easy), I was wrong, not only was the driver wanting a tip, for his rudeness, all the food needed to be reheated, due to it being cold, and the Zucchini was soggy. I thought ordering from a restaurant close by would almost guarantee warm food, but, i was incorrect. I will not be ordering from this establishment again. This is not the way I wanted to spend my son's birthday.

Seafood pasta was almost there. The chicken wrapped sausage was delicious. The scallops appetizer was delicious. The cannolli was perfect. Nice server, though they struggled to keep my water full and dishes cleared.

Based on other reviews I had Chicago dreams and south side wishes. The pizza was two completely different halfs of the same game. The toppings on the pizza were very good although the sauce might have lacked just a smidge. Pizza lovers know that the crust is truly where the rubber meets the road. Let's just say that the road is the winner here. While the pizza top was hot and worthy, the crust laid like a giant cold cracker underneath. Not a fresh dough experience or a foundation of excellence. For a guy wanting a taste of home, it was like Tom Seaver walked in and sat at the next table.

Worst service ever. My first and last time going to vitos. The waitress was rude and instead of offering us the complimentary free bread we paid for garlic knots which were dripped in butter. Rolled her eyes at us and ignored my request for bread. Never been treated so poorly.

While I cannot claim Italian roots, I've certainly eaten my share of foods with origins from Rome and Tuscany. I've even visited the country several times and worked in an Italian restaurant myself. Still, I have come to realize that Italian food is like BBQ...it's almost a religious thing. If you are Italian, no one makes it like mom. If you are from Chicago, there's nowhere else with pizza like that, and so on. All of that said, I'd say Vito's is pretty darn good! We had fried ravioli (a St. Louis original) and sausage-stuffed chicken breast with risotto. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the ravioli was crisp and cheesy. The service was great and the atmosphere was relaxed. I'd suggest leaving any preconceived notions at home and discover the food for yourself!
