Walked in, greeted right away. Seated and got our order in right away. Our server Andrew took care of us from the minute we walked in to when we left. Great service and highly recommend Andrew as your server !!!

Pretty much your run of the mill diner plus a full bar. The food was good, but not great, with the exception of their French fries. The brag about their milkshakes but I can t give an opinion, as I m not willing to spend $8 on a milkshake (???). Service was subpar, with less than friendly servers, an incredibly long wait for food (almost an hour), and an additional 30 minutes for our bill. Wouldn t go back unless it was the only place open.

The food qas good but the waiter did not repeat the order and got it wrong. So I had to wait for my food to come out while my wife had already got hers. The busser was on point... More then the waiter.

Excellent Diner! There menu is pretty extensive, offering everything from appetizers to burgers to sandwiches and more. The soda is delicious, it's a Minnesota brand and I recommend the Dr. Better. There is a lot of seating, wait staff is friendly and courteous, and the food is delicious. I will definitely be back.

Fun decor, excellent service, great Bloody Mary. Unfortunately food was not great. Chicken fried steak was not pounded flat for tenderness, instead it was a cheap full cut fried to a dry, extra well done, chewy block of meat. The coating was bland and over fried. Hash browns were very greasy and flavorless, bacon thick and limp. Waitress took entire plate to replace the steak-eggs & browns were cold when she came back. Too bad, it's a fun looking diner.

I'd rate it 4 or 5 stars, but live near by, go there frequently and management must be running lean on everything because any time of day or night, no matter who is working, they have too few servers.

Somebody walks in the door +3 minutes that food of yours is waiting on counter.

I don't think I've ever had a meal the was truly hot, because it'll sit there for usually 10 minutes, to which you hope it's not yours and that it's coming up.

It's convenient, food is decent, but watching your food cool for 10 minutes because some manager wants to give out the minimum hours is quite obvious.

Do everyone a favor and get an extra server, I'd eat there twice as much, easily, if I didn't know it was going to be so much waiting.

Waiting fine, food just sitting there getting cold for 10 minutes, being the norm, you lost a fan who would have been a regular. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way...

Go any time, you'll see your cool because you can't get it yourself though it's 10 feet away.

Bottom line, if you come here, expect to wait no matter what (not the servers' fault) and watch your food cool for a spell. As your hunger churns you can rest assured, it's always like this.

I wish so much that there was another diner around, but this is down the street and it's 24 hours.

But not once in 10+ times of eating there have I gotten my plate in less than 10 minutes when the cool places it on the counter ready to go...

Maybe I should have just left it at warm food at best, but I hate how they always put their servers in a no win situation, because you're lucky if you get a refill on that pop with how they run things.

The owner replies on here, but I don't see any improvement after 5 months. I don't think I'm in the minority with that thought.

I'm trying to be fair to but I've spent an average of watching my food get cold every time of the course of 10+ trips there and every time, it's because they're short staffed.

Guess at least they're consistent.

I have no problem with anyone else working there who is doing their job, but the manager is out to lunch and they ain't eating and The Nicollet Diner.
