A network of volunteers for the promotion of effective heritage. The experiences we get from it are extremely enriching and are sources of wonderful memories, including during international projects, both abroad and in France!

Bizarre, for some time I have not received any more emails from Remparts while I had subscribed to your Newsletter ... Note also the rudeness of the secretary on the phone supposed to inform you ... I was considering to integrate a volunteer site but after that, I gave up ...

Update Why do not you give any explanation?

Medieval masonry yard or rather clearing of nettles organized by the Union REMPART ...
Contrary to the sales announcement on the website of the Union REMPART, the rubble and lime masonry site we had chosen turned out to be a clearing of stinging nettles and making table legs. !
Organized over a week, the course actually starts (and depending on the weather that may be capricious depending on the region) that Tuesday because of late arrivals and drop-off participants on Monday ...
The Union REMPART organized a photo contest but once there, a statement saying that the photos of the site are prohibited was passed for security reasons but especially not to show the reality of the field.
In short, big disappointment especially after 1200 km A / R to participate in the site.

Very disapointed !

Very disapointed !
Having wanted to do a voluntary internship on a construction site; I learned that in addition to paying the participation, it is also necessary to be recruited on file.
I do not see where the benefit of being a volunteer, of paying and IN ADDITION TO BEING NOT SURE TO BE RECRUITED!
Very very disappointed, especially with the emails and calls asking for information, I had no news.

If I do a voluntary mission, there is no way I will pay and be recruited on file ...
It is one or the other but not both.

Big disappointment, but too bad to become a volunteer in an animal shelter or in restaurants of the heart ...

About Ville de Paris et Association Rempart.

Ville de Paris et Association Rempart: Preserving and Transmitting Heritage through Volunteer Work

Ville de Paris et Association Rempart is a non-profit organization that aims to preserve and transmit the cultural heritage of France through volunteer work. The organization was founded in 1966 by a group of young people who were concerned about the deterioration of historic buildings and sites in France. Since then, Ville de Paris et Association Rempart has grown into a network of associations that organize volunteer projects, technical training courses, and civic service missions to safeguard and pass on the country's rich cultural heritage.

The organization's mission is to promote awareness of the importance of preserving historical monuments, buildings, and sites for future generations. Ville de Paris et Association Rempart believes that everyone can contribute to this effort by volunteering their time, skills, and resources. The organization welcomes volunteers from all walks of life who share its passion for heritage preservation.

One of the main activities organized by Ville de Paris et Association Rempart is volunteer work camps. These camps bring together volunteers from different parts of France and other countries to work on restoration projects at historic sites across the country. Volunteers learn new skills such as masonry, carpentry, painting, or landscaping while working alongside experienced professionals.

The work camps are also an opportunity for volunteers to discover new places in France while making new friends from different backgrounds. Participants stay in local accommodations such as youth hostels or camping grounds near the project site. They also have free time to explore nearby attractions or participate in cultural events organized by local communities.

In addition to work camps, Ville de Paris et Association Rempart offers technical training courses for professionals or amateurs interested in learning more about heritage restoration techniques. These courses cover topics such as stone carving, stained glass restoration or traditional roofing methods.

Another way Ville de Paris et Association Rempart contributes to heritage preservation is through civic service missions. The organization partners with public institutions such as museums or archives to offer young people aged 18-25 an opportunity to serve their community while learning about cultural heritage management.

During these missions which last between six months up-to one year participants receive training on various aspects related with managing cultural assets including inventorying collections; cataloguing; digitizing documents; organizing exhibitions; welcoming visitors etc.. They also receive a monthly allowance which helps them cover their living expenses during this period.

Ville de Paris et Association Rempart has been recognized nationally for its contribution towards preserving French culture & history . In 2019 it received "Grand Prix du Patrimoine" award from French Ministry Of Culture & Communication .

In conclusion,Ville de Paris et Association Rempart plays an important role in preserving French culture & history . Through its network of associations , it organizes various activities like volunteer workcamps , technical trainings & civic service missions which not only help restore historical monuments but also create awareness among general public about importance protecting our shared past .
