Bought a vehicle on the X-plan. Traded-in a vehicle as well, which was the first transaction. When it came time to finalize the new vehicle purchase, I had to ask for the invoice (which should have been provided as part of the purchase paperwork package). I noticed that I was paying $798 more than the X-plan invoice stated. When asked, I was told it was for Wheel locks ($399) and Door Edge guards (another $399). $399 for wheel locks? The last time I bought a new vehicle, they charged me about $25 for wheel locks. When asked about the door edge guards, they gave me the same price. I researched door edge guards the next day, and I think I could have gotten them for about $40 in materials and maybe (maybe), $120 in labor in the after market. I happened to be using incentives that were expiring at the end of the month (transaction occurred on 9/30 at about 545pm). I decided to just let it go instead of walking out and having to grab an Uber home.
I will not be purchasing any vehicles from Village Ford anytime soon. Until Ford gets it dealer network to get rid of these charades, it will continue to the weak link in their sales chain. One saving grace---the vehicle is very nice.
