This was a five star place in 2019. Communication is completely off track. Staff cannot even remember their own pilicies. If you can't keep your families and cases straight, you need to take better notes and pay attention who you are talking to! Very disappointed.
My mom has been a resident of Villa Maria for three years. It was the hardest and best decision I have ever had to make. Staff of the Villa Maria have been like family; they take excellent care of mom and give her lots of hugs. Recently, mom had surgery to lift her eye lids, and the second shift nurse called me to tell me they had just tucked her in for the night. The communication between the staff at Villa Maria and myself has been great. From Cindy, the owner, to Christine, her assistant, to Amy, the Social Worker, to Lisa, the Director of Nursing, to Claudia, the Director of Recreation, etc., whatever I tell them, they are all informed. They don t just meet mom s physical needs, they meet her emotional needs. Mom loves to sing. She is always front and center at the sing alongs.
I doubt if these other people are reviewing the same nursing home. 5 stars from me. The nurses are awesome. So kind and caring. I mostly had contact with first shift staff but everyone was very pleasant and accomodating. The day supervisor Sue helped my family and was so kind to us during our very difficult time. 5 stars !
My mom has been at Villa Maria in Plainfield, CT for five years. She is well taken care of and well loved. Currently, mom has COVID. I get a daily update and can call anytime, day or night, to ask questions. The staff are like family - they care as much about me as they do about mom. Placing mom at Villa Maria was the hardest and best decision I have ever had to make. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for placement for their loved one.
Is a dirty non carring vacility since corporate took over for profit. Nursing staff argumentative and pts not really looked after. Father was there and barely got cleaned, same socks put back on. Food is barely food, no fruit is ever offered which for elderly maintains motility, that father became constipated. He was discharged with head and chest cold, they didn't fight for his need to be there 2 more weeks for rehab. DO NOT PRISON YOU LOVED ONES THERE.
My grandmother was a resident at the Villa Maria for over 2 years until she passed. This beautiful lady had many dementia challenges and the staff and doctors at the Villa Maria were very successful at managing her dementia. The attention they gave her and the closely watched prescribed medication were just what my grandmother needed. I don't where these one star reviews are coming from. That's not the Villa Maria I know and am so thankful to.
The decision to place my mother in long term care last January was exceedingly difficult. The situation was only made worse by the isolation required due to the pandemic. I live out of state and can only praise the communication with the nursing and care giving staff. I was always notified of any changes and kept updated on her condition whenever I called. Amy and Genevieve were great at keeping me in contact with her through telephone and Facettme visits. My mother passed last week and I greatly appreciate the sympathy and respect they have shown to the family.
The Villa Maria is the best nursing home in the area. My wife has a knee replacement and did rehab at this facility. The rehab department is knowledgeable and helped my wife get back o her feet. The staff met all her needs and patiently answered my many questions. I was greeted every day by staff with smiles when I can through the doors. There are so many good people who work at the Villa Maria and who genuinely care for the patients. The Villa Maria was like a second home to my wife and I. The place is great and the caring that was shown us will always be special to us. Thank you to all the dedicated employees who work there.
