Villa and Hut Kafe Review

The 4 staff ought to spend more time serving customers the awful, overpriced beverage that barely passes as coffee and less time gossiping amongst themselves.

If I can put negative starts I would. Worst service I have ever experienced. There was a bit of delay in my brothers card that was used for payment and both ladies in the counter were extremely rude.
If I go back to the airport again I ll make sure I drop by to remind them of how horrible their service is and I can do a better job than them so they should just go crawl in a hole so the world can be a better place.

Service needs urgent improvement. I understand overpriced cafes, but can't understand why they are rude and arrogant to customers

Please do not go here. Overpriced and had to go back twice to reheat a ham and cheese croissant ($10.90) since it was still cold and unmelted inside. On the last time was rudely told not to complain if it was burnt. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Err, 600mL bottled water $4.90, very average $5.30 coffee, very average $7.90 cheese and tomato toastie. Staff also with very few f**ks to give. Nicely designed cafe, depressing experience.

Really expensive, $21 for a toasted sandwich, large cappa and a hot chocolate, 20 minutes, coffee poor quality, hadn't put the sandwich when I asked 10 minutes later, said it was coming, it wasn't, mistake made, no apology

AVOID! If you are smarter than I am and decide to read the reviews before desperately going in here when you come out of the gate, avoid at all costs! It's not worth it, you'll wait over 5 minutes for an overpriced cup warm cup of milk , not Melbourne at all! Walk a minute or so to your right when looking at this shop, and go to Hudson's, you'll get a decent coffee there!

The coffee isn t bad... but the staff are disinterested and the setting at the arrivals door is perpetually disheveled... The only reason you d go here is while waiting for an arrival when the immigration hall is busier than a fish market.

Staggeringly bad coffee, made worse by the audacity of their slogan stating that "your Melbourne coffee experience starts here". That should read "your Melbourne coffee experience can only get better from here"...

Apparently "Pamuk" were too busy trying to finish with her gossip rather than greeting customers waiting for her at the counter. I had enough time to settle down with the fact that I am about to deal with poor customer service. I just feel offended to be greeted by her afterward.

Thought that would be the end of it. At the pick-up counter, they mixed up my coffee with others. So that the other customer and myself got asked again what we ordered. All this happened at ~11AM, when they not even busy.

Unprofessional and rude !!!!!
Staff was wearing gloves to handle food ? wrong money and food at the same time!
when I ask why, the answer was to protect her hands from germs !?!
Staff needs more training in being polite to customers and education how to handle food properly to be hygienic to protect customers and staff at the same time .

Two stars because the coffee is not bad but minus three stars for waiting 25 minutes. Ok, so the arrival area is busy but they really need to do something about their process to cope with the demand because I saw people getting annoyed and even asking for a refund because of the ridiculous waiting time.

Totally acceptable airport cafe. Coffee was decent, and the price is what you should expect in this location. Same applies to tomato cheese toasty.

Way too expensive even by Melbourne Airport standards. No consideration of disability. Aisles too narrow and tables too cramped. The food looked awful so I did not bother.

Have to agree with most of the others here regarding the staff. Unfortunately these staff are everywhere in terminal 1 because they are all owned by the same company 'Delaware North'. Poor coffee, poor disinterested staff, rubbish quality and overpriced food...

If you enjoy getting off a fifteen hour flight, waiting thirty minutes for your bag to arrive, going through customs, get yelled at and corrected for how you order your coffee then this is the place to go. Everything about this place is unreasonable. From the staff to the pricing. Quality of the coffee was absolute garbage as well.

Too busy. Had to wait a bit and my latte was pretty average

If you want better than luke warm hot chocolate ask for extra hot.

Overpriced coffee as would be expected, but very poor quality. For a city or great coffee, it's a bit embarrassing. Was here late in the evening, the service was the minimum of polite.

Best chilli scrambled eggs ever!
Fresh chilli, fresh rocket, amazingly good, creamy scrambled eggs. Accompanied by seriously good crunchy (not soggy) toast (even after the eggs were on top), and fresh, flavoursome avocado/feta.

Got to order this next time you have a stop at Melbourne airport for breakfast.

Coffee good but served in a takeaway cup .

Qantas terminal.
Ordered 4 sandwiches definitely not worth $42. Vege Brioche was literally 1 slice of tomato, 1/4 of a slice of mushroom and 2 spinach leaves. Not worth the trouble. Service with a smile also would have not gone astray. Also how can you run out of fresh fruit for juicing

Scolding hot burnt coffee, I couldn t even hold it in my hands, returned to the service desk to complain that I couldn t drink it, the middle aged waitress became completely offended and disagreed saying it was fine, then offered to return our money but to get out of the shop, she began threatening she was going to call the police and started yelling at me, my pregnant partner and three year old to get out of the store at the top of her lungs. We where completely dumbfounded, what happened to the customer service? Extremely embarrassed and do not reccomend for anyone.

Coffee wasn't too bad, it's just inconsistent, you never know what you're gonna get. Also, this place is located at t2 international arrivals.

Ham & cheese croissants are over $10 each, we ordered 2 and they burnt them. We took them back and they got another 2 for us. They burnt them even worse the second time. The third time they came out cold in the middle. The croissant was obviously stale. At that point we just ate them because it was like pulling teeth to get any help. Really bad experience. No one in this cafe cares about anything. AVOID.

Felt sorry for the only person serving and cooking. Not a good look for new arrivals into the country.

Blond short lady at check out is an angry person with no smile, on the other hand young barista was polite. Price is shocking $4.20 for small cappuccino, that's a crime.

Expensive!! Airports are always crazy with their pricing but I thought this was over the top for food. Coffee was ok. Nothing great. People were lovely. Convenient when waiting for flight arrivals. Captive audience!

$6.00 for a 3/4 filled soy latte that tastes like a burnt piece of toast. And the guys were too busy 'playing' with the take away cups to even acknowledge me in the first place.
But what makes me really angry; they were throwing away food from the display cabinets. I'm sure they would sell one to me right now so why can't they package them and donate them to the many people in Melbourne that have nothing for dinner tonight? Poor form Vila and Hut - but apparently you have a new website, good for you! Will not be back and will spread the word to others to avoid.

You can get good coffee, but you'll have to work hard to get a smile . (and you're at the airport so expect to pay through the nose)

If you reset your expectations to a mediocre airport place, it'll meet them. I found the staff friendly enough, but the food mediocre and coffee not up to par. Everything is overpriced but find me a Cafe at the airport that isn't..

It's a large cafe with good coffee, but is seriously understaffed and considering it's right outside arrivals? People want a coffee and dont want to wait 10 minutes for one..

Honestly surprised the airport would have such an awful cafe. Everything is way overpriced for quality and quantity of what you get. If you could hang on a little longer , you d get way way way better coffee / food outside.

I had a quick sandwich there. Put my backpack on the ground next to my table, to find out it was ruined by some rest of fishy liquid the staff had obviously left... not clean, don't go there...

I had the pumpkin salad before our flight and starting feeling sick on the plane. Ended up with serious diarrhoea getting off the plane.
Salad must had not been stored appropriately in the store

This is a review for the franchise in the departure lounge. Rude staff. Too busy chatting with customers at tables to serve. When the customer tells staff I'm waiting, there's no apology, just a sharp 'what would you like' Unfortunately not even worth the rudeness...worst coffee I've had in a long time $that includes instant) . Threw it out. Waste of $5.50 and my time.
