Victoria Park Secondary Reviews

Hands down one of the worst schools in Toronto. It's right on the edge of North York and Scarborough, where some of the worst kids live and where their parents don't do any parenting and just leach off of welfare. In grade 10 and 11, I got bullied to the point where I showed the Principal physical proof (letters telling me to go cut myself and DEATH THREATS) and she didn't discipline ANY of the bullies. They offered us a "mediation" in other words, they didn't give a damn whether or not this would keep going on afterward. It astounds me that the I.B. program still exists at that school, considering the number of drop outs. Even when I went to visit my friends afterward, these other hood rats almost stole my purse and my phone. On top of that, the regular academics are a joke; most of the teachers are winging it and don't care about their students (EXCEPT for the photography teacher, she is amazing). I changed my address to get into another school, Wexford, where they actually have ZERO tolerance for this. Once I went to Wexford, I was actually challenged in the regular program academically. The courses were harder but I did actually retain something from there, unlike this pile of junk. I feel bad for the few good kids that HAVE to go here. If you want at least a half-decent future for your teenagers, DO NOT send them to this place.

Oh wow. I graduated that school about...hmmm...10 years ago. And I see it hasn't improved much. Kinda surprised to hear that the IB program is still there. Wonder who runs it now.

it's a really great school. has a great social environment, great staff and most importantly teaches you how to be independent.

Very professional school. A lot of credit for Mr. Todd Bushel for his professionalism. The most supportive vice principal I dealt with

I credit VP with my post-secondary success. Shoutout to Buica, Pourkhy, Torrie, Munro, and others - some of the most influential people in my life. Made some great lifelong friends too (shoutout Chitra and Aahil). Hope it can work through its current issues.

hygeine is bad, smell is bad, IB is ok, extracurriculars are good

This school had lots of issues with police activity. One to be avoided.

IB teachers are not bad. I remember coming here and the fire alarm was pulled 4-5 times in a row.

Very disappointed in everything... the hallways are dirty and it looks like im in a haunted house

So far it's pretty great. The students are kind and mind their own business if needed. It's pretty safe this year, so that's great. The teachers are really nice as well.

UPDATE: Now that I'm about to graduate I can say this school is very mediocre and the administration is very problematic. Big yikes.

Ms. Hornet needs a new job. She s obviously old and miserable. Called in with a simple question and she s talking to me like I don t understand English. I was told something different from TDSB than what she was telling me and I don t think she took that very well. She s in the guidance office. The first person I spoke to at this school and this is the tone you set? Re-evaluate who you d like representing your school please.

Vic park is the best school cause the teachers and students are nice

Coinflip teachers, you either get your education griefed or get a good teacher.

I take kids for swimming here. The showers are typically warm which is amazing in the winters.

There is a good viewing area overlooking the pool. It can get warm there and there usually isn't enough chairs.

Do not listen to the reviews with a good rating, either its and old rating or the teachers forced them to give the school a good rating rather than its true rating. Do not come to this school

A junkie threw a water bottle at me in the halls. Also I know teachers look at these reviews.

Mr. John Oniel was amazing teacher. I really miss him. He was amazing person.

General school. Chinese people are not quite special.

This school is slightly above average. There are some pros and cons about this school. The good thing is that most teachers are helpful; they are hard workers. Another thing good about this school is that it has a pool and a fitness centre. Last but not least, they have a cafeteria and vending machines. But this doesn't mean this school has cons. One con is that there aren't any nice looking girls! Not even one of them look hot (Except for one, but she's very rude and as of June 27, 2015, she moved somewhere else.). The next con is the school looks dingy. It hasn't been renovated over the past 20 years I say. The I.B students are also snobby, unintelligent and act like jerks. One may hear how loud they actually are next door.

My experience at this school was a complete joke. not only is the environment terrible but i had to avoid certain hallways to make it to class safely. 0/10 would not attend again. the percentage of nice looking females within the school area is 0% just like steven's success rate. If you sit down in the hallway and spend out your legs on the ground you might trip a IB who is running late to class. overall if you want your children to be successful, do not let them attend this school.

The worst one is Ms Horner her attuidue is something I am glad that my children are not enrolled here.
Needs Professionalism.

The school itself is fairly mediocre, but my day is always brightened up when I see Ms. Silaeva's bright smile, and her cheerful greetings. Her voice is imprinted in my mind. I can almost hear her yelling at Bill Chan to get out, or for Evan Tang to stop spasming.

I went to this school and everytime the teachers tried to cut down my marks even though I deserved a 80-90% they tried their best to keep my marks in the 60%. I volunteered atleast 80 hours in this school and they did not give me my diploma saying I didn t do my hours now I worked for a old disabled lady and got my hours and they said that my hours are fake and the lady was not answering her phone when I asked the lady if she got any phone calls she told me that someone called her and asked her if it was her name and then they hanged up so basically they don t want to give me my diploma. But guess what I am going to get my diploma. Most of the teachers are no good.
