Great school, great instructors. I was adequately prepared to pass my board examination and work as a veterinary technician after completing my education. There is a lot of hands on to help you prepare for the experiences you will have on the job. I had a great experience at Vet Tech Institute and still am in touch with some of my instructors (I graduated 13 years ago!) I definitely recommend it!
I attended this campus as class of July 2016 and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. Coming into this with a four year degree, this college was much different! My teachers/ mentors were wonderful and go above and beyond for their students! (Even after graduation!) The classes are well geared towards practicing modern hospital medicine and the education you obtain really helps shape your nursing skills for all patients.
VTI has wonderful instructors, great faculty, and fantastic resources. The education you will receive at VTI Pittsburgh prepares you for the world of veterinary medicine. This eighteen month program is difficult because the academia is so rigorous. The instructors are always willing to help when you do not understand a concept or just need advice. Eighteen months seems like a long time but it flies by quickly. I highly recommend VTI to anyone who is willing to put forth the effort and are ready for a life changing experience.
This is a great school. The program is 18 months and you learn a lot! Be prepared for hard work and studying. Fabulous teachers and staff to help while you are in school and after graduation. Job placement after graduation is fantastic! I graduated in 2011 and I am now an office manager at a local animal hospital. VTI externs are always welcome and it is my first choice when looking for new hires. I know the students have the experience and studied the skills we are looking for in our fast paced, high quality medicine facility.
I am from Connecticut and I attended Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh and I never had a better experience at a school!! The teachers are more than helpful. The education is up to date and the teachers are 110% dedicated to every student to help each and everyone one understand the material. They put long hours to even stay after hours and help you understand at your own pace, I was never ever afraid to ask a question. The teachers made learning FUN and it stuck with me!!!! We were offered LOTS of hands-on with surgeries and kennel work, to blood draws, lab tests and even a large animal farm! Everyone is extremely friendly and everyone is there to prepare YOU and educate YOU to be the very best certified/licensed or registered VETERINARY TECHNICIAN/NURSE !!!!! I passed my VTNE my first time with steady confidence as they prepared us with the information we needed and more! I never ever had a dull day there. They even provide free donuts during finals week!! I love being able to say I graduated from here to anyone who asks and I wear my vet tech institute scrubs/sweatshirts with pride! I miss it greatly and HIGHLY recommend Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh to anyone interested having an occupation this self rewarding field!!!!!
This is a great program! While it is very fast paced, it is thorough and provides you with the knowledge and skill set to get you started in the Veterinary field. All of the teachers that I had were very knowledgeable and willing to help students. I graduated almost 11 years ago, and I still recommend this school to those looking to enter the field.
There are not enough words to describe how incredible VTI is of a school!!! They were very hands on and taught me everything I needed to know for the workforce! I utilize my skills and knowledge everyday at my job! The instructors are amazing people as well! Very knowledgeable and very helpful! I refer so many people to go to college here! Definitely an amazing place!
Wonderful program, and a great way to get a career started in a short amount of time! I went back to school at 26 and was on my way to a career I love in ~16 months! I m happy I chose to go to VTI, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering heading into the Veterinary Nursing field!
I graduated from VTI 10+ years ago and I can honestly say that the training I received there paved the way for an amazing career. I obtained a part time position as a veterinary assistant before I completed school and the VTNE prep course helped me pass the exam a few months after graduation. I greatly appreciate everything the school did for me to guide me into what will be a life long career.
