After graduating from college with a degree in Home Economics Education, Vera began teaching high school students how to cook. It wasn't long before she realized that her true passion lay in sharing her love of cooking with others on a larger scale.

In 1984, Vera founded The VeryVera Show as a way to showcase her talents as well as those of other local chefs and bakers. Over time, the show became wildly popular throughout Georgia and beyond.

In addition to hosting her own show, Vera also started catering events ranging from small dinner parties to large weddings and corporate events. Her attention to detail and commitment to quality quickly earned her a reputation as one of the best caterers in town.

But Vera's entrepreneurial spirit didn't stop there. In 1999, she launched VeryVera Gourmet – a mail order business that delivers her famous cakes, cookies, and other treats straight to your door.
